Paddy Ashdown & Seumas Milne debate War in Afghanistan (part 2 of 2)

Ashdown says that no Afghan parliamentarian opposes the Nato occupation. Wrong. One such person is the elected Afghan feminist called Malalai Joya who campaigns against both the Taliban and the warlords who run much of the country. She also opposes the US presence which helps the Taliban focus nationalist elements against the occupation which might otherwise fight the Taliban as they did before the US intervened in the Afghan civil war.

Seamus guillotined the merchants of war and debunked the series of lies advanced to justify our bombing that's killed many tens of thousands of civilians and which was opposed by the Afghan feminist group RAWA (Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan) because they knew that an invasion would heal the split in the Pashtuns that form the Taliban which was taking place led by anti-Taliban commanders like Abdul Haq in the Afghan civil war. The war is lost and we need to leave now.

he means "of the U.S.A." . U.N. resolutions for justifiable action are regularly vetoed -especially by the U.S.A. -when their regional commercial interests are threatened. The true purpose of NATO's presence in Afghanistan relate to U.S. control of vital oil and gas pipe lines and the ten or more huge nuclear powered

bases built in the region within close range to Russia and China who they still fear.

People get killed in wars Ashdown?...The Kosovo Albanians never told you to stop bombing Kosovo despite the collateral damage...That shows you the deep irrationality of the NATO action...Albanians were not going to say that because we were fighting their war for them ! I have read the testimony of many Kosovo Albanians about crimes against them...it's mostly hearsay evidence or just lies..they could not withstand cross examination properly...read the court transcripts

In the Milosevic trial Ashdown gave evidence that he saw Serbian forces torturing Albanian villages. Later the Serbian commander Delic gave evidence for Milosevic that demonstrated that Ashdown's evidence was simply wrong, using maps he was able to show that Ashdown was not in any physical position to witness what he claimed. He was lying...ever read that in a British newspaper?
