Heh, when you think about it, it's actually pretty cool that Earth was building a fleet of cruisers whilst under the slaveshield. Since it was impossible to communicate with anyone down there (Other then with people who had gone from Earth to the station), it seems the humans where working on cracking the slaveshield themselves, and having a battlefleet ready for revenge once they did.

I mean why else would a fleet of cruisers come up right after the slaveshield dropped?

I have been PC gaming for 20 years and to put it simply, Star Control 2 is the best all-round game that has ever been and will ever be made.

Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III are to PC gaming what Grand Ridge Brewery are to beer. It isn't about profits and money...it's about creating a superior product with patience, with full regard for the target market.

No game has ever the complete combination of a flawless story, great graphics, fucking legendary music and awesome gameplay...not at this level.

You do realize its out now for free under the name 'The Ur-Quan Masters', by the same guys who originally made it, right? The entire game, all cutscenes, both the PC and 3DO versions.

It is implied, as the grandkids would not exist had Captain Zelnick and Talana not had sexual intercourse.

YESH!!!! Though I don't play it no more, I still have the game in all of its four diskette glory. ^^ Also got the third one, though the music and the ending of the third just plain sucked. That, and the use of animatronics didn't work for a number of those aliens.

The 3D0 version i gotta say was better- but it did have this ending to go in- BEST GAME EVER!!!! btw- do you remember the sequences after when all the aliens are 'interviewed' on how they liked acting in the game? one of the funniest things was watching the Ur-Quann whin about how he's always typcsted as the villian- if you can find & post THAT id praise you.
