My wife Junko went to her hospital every day without fail on 1st from July 9, 2009 to today (About 5 months). I'm nursing husband of Haruko (dementia and Parkinson's disease) while working.

We are still a long way from being there, but We'll do my best to recover fully them.

Haruko does not yet answer our question.

But she is getting better day by day.

Today, she could open her eyes, and move fingers of her foot.

It's a good sign. We give her a long look and believe that she recovers completely some day.

She could sometimes open her eyes today, but consciousness isn't clear yet.

When we talk to her, she has no response. She sat down on a wheelchair for 30 minutes the first time today. A physical therapist moves her body and he stimulates her brain as much as possible. We believe she will recover.

Dear Catherine,

Her eyes opened a little today !!! (^o^)

Her consciousness seems convalescent according to her doctor.

But she has trouble with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) now.

NPH is a complication of subarachnoid hemorrhage.

She is going to be operated again on Thursday, August 6.

There is hardly danger for this operation.

Maybe her conscious level becomes better after this operation.

We have a long way to go.

But we believe she would recover to live a long and happy life.

Dear Catherine,

Thanks for everything.

1) Her mother is still unconscious. Her fever went down and is stable condition today. We speak to her and play the music tape for her, and massage her hand and foot. Her eyelid, hand and foot sometimes move.

2) Her father lives by himself at his house. We deliver three meals every day and do cleaning and washing. I watch his bathing so that he doesn't slip and fall down at his bathroom. Because he has Parkingson's disease. We go home after seeing through until he sleeps. I check his safety, telephoning him frequently. And we go to hospital. That's every day, so it's very hard for us. We get very tired with only that.

But we'd like to get over this difficulty now absolutely.

I'm thankful to you for your friendship.

1) Her condition was most serious grade 5 of subarachnoid hemorrhage. It was extremely improbable that her life is saved. Two weeks passed and her life was saved miraculously. Medication of the antibiotic recovered her pneumonia. The cerebrovascular spasm feared as coexisting illness doesn't happen, and the blood vessel is normal. However, she remains still unconscious 2 weeks since the incidence.

2) She was moved from ICU to SCU today. The artificial respirator was removed, and came to be able to breathe independently. On today's examination, there was no re-bleeding by the diagnostic imaging of MRI (MRA). There is a good likelihood that she recovers consciousness and gets better. So, we will do everything the future for that. Her mother is a very very kind person. So, I want to repay her favor as much as I can.
