This is not Sky Diving !! this is a paragliding error.. this is Joe flying his brand new Performance paraglider in Mexico. In paragliding you do not jump from a plane. Look up paragliding videos. Joe stalled his wing and did not correct the problem quick and had to throw his reserve parachute. No injuries all Good but should have spent more time getting familiar with the new wing.

The tone that you hear is "variometer" -- measures rate of climb. He hit a big thermal that had enough turbulence to collapse his main "wing" (it's not a parachute). But luckily he had a reserve parachute that worked.

The conditions seemed to be pretty dynamic, he hit a pretty strong thermal, we hear the beeping of his vario at 0:43. Then, as his wing loses pressure, he makes a long serie of mistakes. He never managed to counter the rotation and regain stability.

He sounds cool and relax on the ground but the chain of events is mostly the result of him panicking. He had the presence of mind to pull his reserve though...
