  • You couldn't have picked a more unfitting picture for the song.

  • this is a great example of post-rock

  • Very creepy piece. It reminds me greatly of those silent-ish atomic bomb shock films of latter days. They scared the crap out of me as a kid.

  • Everybody seems to think the voices in this song are from different sermons by different speakers. I've always been under the impression that they were from the same person, simply phase shifted a-la Steve Reich and altered to sound at higher and lower pitches.

  • Reverend Jones: "Children, children, hurry my children"

  • Great music, and fantastic artwork, where's it from?

  • Comment removed

  • Chilling. Just....chilling.

    This is aural art.

  • coulda swore this was godspeed, not ASMZ

  • @YerJob It was a bit on the song Storm from the Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven album :D

  • @YerJob same label :)

  • this is just scary as fuck.. both the music and the idea that people are encouraging nuking the earth to bring forth the second coming..

  • this song makes me want to start cutting myself. man-

  • i like how up until Horses In the Sky the only words in gybe and asmz songs were just crazy idiots talking

  • This song needs to be listened to on the album. This song without following immediately into Sit in the Middle of Three Galloping Dogs makes it feel... empty in comparison.

    Still gorgeous though.

  • I like ASMZ but this song creeps me out - very dark

  • Those speeches, I believe, were sermons and it's kind of hard to hear them all clearly since they're all played simultaneously, but from what I've picked out it's about "The Messiah's second coming", and if you're religious you know what they're talking about.

  • @DaEdsta the false messiah......dajjal the anti-chirist...

  • Does anyone know what the speech is called? Or a link where I can find it?

  • @XxMementoxXMorixX

Im not sure exactly what sermon it is, but im pretty sure that at least one of the speakers is Harold Camping...He is known for date setting of when God comes back n stuff. Don't quote me though haha

  • I froze up and stopped doing whatever I was doing the first time I heard this song. First ASMZ song I ever heard, it still gives me chills.

  • @xAchromatic Me - this same

  • I was listening to this song for the first time while doing my homework, I didn't know what the title was nor did I read any of your guys comments(I had Youtube's Autoplay on). Halfway through the song I started crying... Funny thing Is I have know idea what they're saying, The only words I could understand where "peace, World, God,him" Can anyone tell me what this Song is about?

  • wow... amazing

  • At first I was fine, but then as I heard just what they were saying, I actually felt my stomach turn. How could anyone think like that? Is that even possibly sane?

That's when it got scary, yet I kept listening.

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies what are they saying?.... sorry but its hard to hear... and english/american isnt my native language...

  • At 5:30 I got massive chills. This song makes me feel so alone. So desperate. Like all life is stopped and it is only me fighting through an apocalyptic end. So intense

  • this is so disturbing but i can't stop listening

  • so damn beautiful....!

  • I want to cry...

  • some pretty intense shit

  • this is so inspiring

  • this beautifully disturbs me.

  • This song does not make me feel safe. This is one of the few GYBE & A Silver Mt. Zion songs that scares me. The voice over is from a religious radio station. He's talking about a nuclear war that would bring about the second coming of Christ. The end of the world. This is scary shit people!

  • Neck up parrot.

  • Do you know by chance if the speaker is Harold Camping? It sounds like him to me, I've always wondered.

  • @littleflags thats what i thought. I was flipping through the AM dial the other day and I heard him and i immediately thought of this song.

  • Makes me feel alone with my thoughts.

  • I love this song, it puts my mind at ease

  • I wish this laptop could have a higher volume so I can listen to this song while I wonder around the house.

  • Cool stuff. Too good for John Q Public

  • lol the subwoofers in my headphones are going crazy!!!

  • its basically the end of storm from antennas to heaven.

  • has someone the lyrics from this "speech"?

  • seems like something about the end of the world the return of christ and the anti-christ, if you type in the words in google...

most of it seem bible verses to me

  • I've been looking a long time for the source of the speech, but haven't found it yet - though I've found two of the bible verses it quotes:

Daniel 8 25 (mentioned by name in song)

Thessalonians 5 1-9 (at the end of the song, beginning of the next)

  • Wow! I think I just saw a UFO outside my house!

    I'm turning this song off!

This is getting out of control!

  • yeah 13 angels is my fav track form asmz i love all there stuff thow, its great to just smoke a blunt and vibe to them. it makes u think

  • this song is great. I like 13 angels though... such a sad song. I've cried before

  • gybe is better

  • asmz is better in my opinion... listen to God Bless Our Dead Marines!! actually I think they're tied

  • 3 members from gy!be formed mt.zion...

  • yeah it's a tie actually, just listened to Yanqui U.X.O first time

  • gybe is so different.

  • I never bore to listen gybe & silver mt zion. It's just too beautiful.

  • D'you really like that image?

  • efrim menuck is one of the great minimalist composers of our time, not to mention a brilliant philosopher

  • @zorrell What's a mans !!

  • @zorrell he is a jew

  • @orangeandaxe im pretty sure he stated not belonging to any organized religion

  • @zorrell He is a god. Period.

  • si se la estan rifando con esta cancion tan mas bonita muchachos. que sigan adelante porque you quiero ser beneficiario de su talento!! eso mero.

  • One of my all time favorite songs. It just reeks of despair.

  • Beautiful, love to you all

  • Fucking moron

  • bulshitty pic. why not dolphins in a blue sea under a full moon and howling wolves on pink mountain tops.....

  • you obviously have no respect for art or the solar system. look into the meaning of the picture rather than what it shows you dipshit.

  • playing london's scala 7th and 8th may '08

  • 30/03/2008 live @Athens-Greece

  • BRAVO RE PAIDES

  • scary and beautiful, this one, 13 angels and movie (never made) are the best songs in this album

    =)

  • they are on tour & i cant fucking wait!

  • where can i find a picture of this to make it my background?

  • Google Search Visionary Art and you'll find lots of cool stuff. Lovin me some ASMZ

  • If you cant read the bottom left writing, it says

    digitalblasphemy (dot) com

  • ofc its bottom right :p

  • hey, does anyone knows if they'll have a tour or if they'll come in belgium?

  • brilliant, chilling, visionary

  • I love Silver Mt Zion. And Godspeed.

    <3<3

  • sublime!!!!

  • Fuck yes! Another Constellation Records classic. Godspeed! with vocals...

  • This song scared the crap out of me. It was the first time I had listened to them...I was sleeping over my friends house, there wasn't a single light anywhere except out the window looking towards the street. I was completely alone. I thought a demon was about to posess me..

  • seriously? i think this song is comforting!

  • Yeah, the first time I heard this song was when I was walking home in the middle of the night. It made me feel safe.

  • beautiful

  • to whoever said it sounds familiar, the piano part is VERY similar to that at the end of Storm by GY!BE.

  • shutup? yes, shutup

  • Note: For all people who like this track, check out "Thirteen angels standing guard around my bead" (correct?) from the same album. It's heart grippingly beautiful.

  • If I was that guy sitting there. This is the music I would be hearing inside, Dark but beautiful.

  • This is Efrim from Godspeed, yes. His kind of "solo"+band-thing. Not nearly as good as GY!BE, but definately great. :)

  • Not really solo at all. There are 7 of them. And you can't really call it Efrim's project. The fact that he sings is irrelevant. He doesn't want to be seen as the forefront of the live band and the voice is meant to be used as just another instrument. And it's not just Efrim. Sophie and Thierry also from GY!BE are in ASMZ as well.

  • Yes, you're right tombland, on all points. I also really like this about GY!BE, ASMZ etc. That they are totally against popstar worship. It's all about the music. I can really identify with that concept. However, ASMZ:s first album (from which this track is taken) is very much Efrims own i'd imagine. It's the song about his dog Wanda for example... and also the tracks seem to be more constructed out of one person experimenting than a band collaborating. But that's irrelevant of course.

  • Your grammar isn't as good as you're trying to make it out to be.

  • You are way younger than you think you are...

  • Wrong, actually. I am completely aware of my age, though I don't see how it applies to this. I'm just a grammar nazi. You seemed like you were trying pretty hard to sound intelligent, but there were numerous grammar mistakes I decided to make you aware of them. I can point them out individually, if you'd like.

  • He he, you are so pathetic... (and this is VERY off-topic.)

I am swedish. My english grammar+spelling suck.

Write your next post in a non-english language please. I also speak german, french and some spanish. The grammar better be perfect... he he

  • Ich kann in Deutsch schreiben, aber nicht so gut. Ob du hast sagt mir das du bist Swedish, ich würde nicht du behobt haben. Good enough? Also, I have no idea how to say "Swedish" in German.

  • Easy. schwedisch. :)

Ha ha ha, not so bad Melkiresha. I think your german is great. Nice to see there's at least one multi-lingual american left on the planet.

    "Apology" accepted. :)

  • Alright. Sorry for the trouble!

  • isn't this godspeed you black emperor? sounds awfully familiar

  • can't wait to go see these in two months...

  • album: He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the Corner of Our Rooms...

  • leave it to a Constellation Records band to give you a paragraph when you want an album title.

  • what album is this from?

  • Unsettling, in a good way.

  • So beautiful!

  • nr1

  • awesome song

  • SO GOOD!
