  • Yo Omari! What's your advice, what is the the good microphone for percussions, shakers, maybe xylophones, little instruments?

  • lol ya ikno i just cant wait to get it!!

  • g dont waste your time doing tutorials just sell your beats and shit, get big & make beats for kings

  • oh ok just wondering

  • @MrJCbeats and yeah most older famous producers might still use their mpc, but that's what they grew up on. We don't need to repeat that, when we have more advanced technology now

  • @MrJCbeats yeah man. I bet once you get the maschine, you won't be using the mpc that much, lol

  • ya i have a mixer and no i see what you mean and yes i do use my computer and why dont you use the maschine softwere and route everything to ableton? well for me i will route everything to protools.

  • @MrJCbeats I do route everything to ableton, I use maschine as a plugin inside ableton

  • ok i feel ya thats you plus what is your DAW PLUS YOU WANT HARDWARE ITS JUST YOU ALWAYS WANT TO KEEP IT THATS WHY ALL FAMOUSE PRODUCERS STILL HAVE THEIRS NOW IT THE MPC and ASR 10 AND I HAVE THE MPC AND MY UNCLE HAS THE ASR-10 (RESEARCH)

  • @MrJCbeats I used to have an asr-x, but sold it for my 2000xl, I know what an asr10 is. I never said to sell your old hardware, I still have my mpc, but I just keep it for sentimental values, and because it will be worth alot more one day. But I mainly use ableton with maschine. Most kids nowadays have mpc's, but no mixers, which makes it pointless. Unless you are using all 8-outs on the mpc, you might as well use your computer, because that's the only way to get the "mpc" sound.

  • i see(ithink) because i want the maschine too(but you already have it) but im not going to stop using the MPC!

  • @MrJCbeats why use it when I have a great daw, and my maschine? I have more power over my sound, and everything is faster and more flexible, no need for the mpc.

  • @onlyomari yes i do i have the mpc 2000

  • @MrJCbeats then you should understand what I'm talking about.

  • did you really did you say give up an mpc???

  • @MrJCbeats have you ever had an mpc?

  • do you use session view at all in ableton or direct to the playlist?

  • @rommy97 yup, every project, thats ableton's main feature. I go to arrangement view after a set everything down, for automation and other small changes

  • which one you like better out of ableton live and logic 9

  • @theoutsideas def. ableton, I like the workflow alot better

  • did this dude jus say do NOT get an mp? WTF?!

  • @blackomenmuzik yup. better to get a controller and a solid program, alot more flexible. This is coming from experience.

  • Great Beats man! I just subscribed! But yo, are you mixing in ableton too?! I'm a ableton user myself but I find that it sounds too clean and digital sometimes, but your mixes sound warm. So are you strictly using ableton?!

  • @prettdboy strictly ableton fam

  • @OnlyOmari I got one last question.... how are the pads on the lpd? Also, does it have pad banks? If i'm on a ableton drum rack, is there a button on the lpd that will allow me to scroll up in down my drumrack? Thanks fam

  • @prettdboy yeah it works perfectly with ableton, you can scroll up to 4 groups of 8, and also has cc control, very versatile controller

  • @OnlyOmari what program are you using my friend? lol I am new to producing, just got an APC20 and ableton live. its really complex for me so maybe you can guide me to something.

  • @TheRayManSir The apc20 is designed for ableton, so thats your best bet

  • that beat @ the end is wicked boy!! if i could acquire sounds like yours i potentially would become a great producer like you some day.. who knows.. keep groovin brova..

  • your advise get a midi controller?

i got an mpd26 i was about to upgrade to an mpc500 but i didnt think it was worth it dude... didnt like the idea of floppy disks and puttin everything manually on ur mpc

but im all about ppl with mpcs tho haha

    nice vid btw

  • @thehanz123 lol exactly. unless you already have a hardware setup, it's a really bad idea. I stopped using my mpc for the floppy disk reason lol. I was using it as a controller for a while, until I got the maschine. but the mpd is great too, I actually want an apc40

  • @OnlyOmari aw you got a maschine?? those look sick dogg thts next on my list.

but idk that apc40 looks tight too it just looks complicated to learn

  • @OnlyOmari yeah man, the maschine is dope, used it in my recent vids. The apc isn't hard at all, well, if you're using ableton.

  • @OnlyOmari oh fasho

    yeah im usin fruity loops

actually workin on a beat right now.. im about to call it quits for the night tho.. lol its started at 10 and im addicted. its 2

  • What year and genre are you samples ?

  • @MrOrphanTear well this sample would be late 80's soul, but I'm pretty new to digging, so I don't really have a set time. I'm getting into alot of 80's electronic music though

  • use your mpc 2000xl to play your drums it's damage..

  • I feel all of ur vids fam....i love hardware. but i feel u on the controller comment. im a drummer and i like to be on stage too and enjoy standalone equipmet....keep doin ur thing...inspirational...btw..did u sell the 2000xl?

  • @omarphi215 thanks bro. I love both hardware and software, and na, Can't sell the 2000, still use it from time to time

  • Um dude your taste inmusic is unbeleveible wow your taleted check out my beats / raps n tell me what you think

  • damn buddy this is great, amazing job! just a question, since i'm not that expert. could you use the square pads of a midi keyboard(say, Akai MPK49) with samples like you're doing there? i'm willing to start producing my beats and i don't know wether going for a keyboard + pads or a cheaper keyboard with separate pads. what's the benefits for both options and what's not?

  • @Margalus89 Thanks alot man! There isn't any difference, it's a matter of taste and comfort really. You can use the pads the same way. I'd advise you try it out before you buy it though.

  • @OnlyOmari it's not like i have much chance to try them, i mean there's no big store around here..i don't know, i love pads and since i don't need complex melodies i'd go for pads now. you know i want to produce simple old school beats with samples + drum pads like /watch?v=moWmF6vCIsY so i guess pads are enough right? what would you suggest? i like pads for the lower space required and the fact i may buy a keyboard when i really need one, it's just i don't know if it'll be enough

  • respect! peace out from Amsterdam!

  • what sample is this i wanna use it in one of my beats!

  • @hdiamond12 lol can't do that bro. you gotta dig it and find it yourself. bless

  • dope music bro!

  • Nice ear fam…Keep grindin' and stay vigilant! For the love of GOOD MUSIC and nonthin' else-ChyLL (@sochyll910)

  • the beat at the end is crazy!!

    what's that one called???

got that JT EASTSIDE feel to it....

    cold!!

  • what's the microphine you are using??? if you dont mind me asking...

  • @OnlyOmari...Bro..why even respond to people who are negative. Your music is on point.

  • @KnockSquared Thanks for that man.

  • @KnockSquared didnt mean the thumbs down bro!

  • you will never get a 3000 .. keep dreaming with your cheap azzz .. equipment .. and neo soul fagg shiit haha

  • @DigitalDevilXL you're obviously a little kid who can't have a serious conversation. My guess is that you don't have any equipment at all. Have fun trying to collect equipment, I'll keep making music though.

  • what the 2xl has the 2500 has the exact same mother board and convertors , check it out . the only thing that has changed is the cd rom , mcd reader , basically a beefed up 2xl . its the exact same machine m as far as the insides of it goes . they just changed the look ... and i have a 3000 . and i couldnt be happier ..sound amazing , with my motif , and when i sample records ... it seems like you like the easy way out . but in the long run its gonna bite you in the azz you'll see

  • @DigitalDevilXL The 2500 has new converters compared to the 2xl, so of course it's going to sound different. The 2500 has a far cleaner sound, or as you would describe it, thin. It sounds even cleaner than the 1000! And from what you tell me, you like the lofi hiphop sound. Trust me, if you were to sample with both, you would hear the difference. I personally would love to have a 3000, I plan on collecting them all. A motif, eh. I do have a small record collection, working on it.

  • omg and this is comming from a guy who uses the 2xl .. do you know what ever is in the 2xl . they put in the 2500 and beef'ed it up .. its the same thing , the mother board the convertors are all the same from the 2xl . to the 2500 .. fl is wack .. unless you have an engineer who mixes down your shiit ... the 3000 and 4000 and dont forget the 60 and sp 1200 .. all im sayin is that . im a drummer , and the drums that come from mashine are weak .. thats all

  • @DigitalDevilXL wow, well you sound like you've never used one before. You were just getting on the maschine for it's sound, but if you compare the 2xl to the 25, the 25 sounds waaay thinner. and as for the 60 and sp, unless you want are lofi sound it's smarter to go with the 3000. Thats why they are emulated in maschine, because they are lofi. You won't any other mpc emulated. I'm also a drummer by the way. The 2500 is thin and lacks the "groove" of the 2xl.

  • dayum , sez alot if your so called spotting gays . now i know what your into .. your like your software . gay and soft . and his beats soun wayyyyyy better when he used the 2500 . ur just mad .. dont hate

  • @DigitalDevilXL the 2500 and the 1000 are the worst ones in my opinion. The 3000 and 4000 are the go to choices. and 9th's work was definitely better when he was just using FL, why do you think everyone still bumps the old stuff? they're classics man. and How am I hating when you came to my video with all this? lol I never said a bad thing about hardware. You're the one hating because you obviously suck at making beats. Hence the reason you had to refer to other producers, and not yourself.

  • the only software he uses is to record vocals you dumb shiit . lol.. he makes all his beats on the 2k . with ur fruity mashine lol.. all the colors lol.. gay like a rainbow with ur soft beats .. lol.. 9th wonder graduated to an MPC 2500 buddy :) .. flying lotus . is wack regardless .. but he uses a 2xl .. ur mad huh lol

  • @DigitalDevilXL actually he doesn't just use software for vocals. 9th wonder uses both the mpc 2500 and fruity loops, even though 2500 sucks to me. Thats the reason his beats aren't as classic as they used to be. and Na I'm not mad. I don't go around to random videos to call people gay from behind my computer. I looked at your page, looks like thats your part time job. and Don't get me wrong, while I wouldn't mind using my mpc from time to time, I like learning how to use different equipment.

  • dont play it smooth you put the mp3 , underneath the editing in sony vegas .. tryna play all slick . i would hear the distortion if it was comming from your crappy camera ... dont make wack beats far from it . and its funny how you judge with out listening , hmmm.. some one is insecure and got put to the spot ...look at jDepina or Damu The fudgemunk .. they use hardware and stay away from siissy software from a soft ni99a like you :) . go look at thier vids .. exactly :) . prove pointed

  • @DigitalDevilXL I didn't put any mp3, except for the beat at the end, the rest is from my camera. LOL. Tryna sound smart. and I've watched all their videos, and and J.depina uses software actually. I don't see how bringing in other talented producers makes YOU sound better, but ok. Some known producers that use software would be Flying Lotus, 9th Wonder, Hazel, Slakah the Beatchild, to name a few.

  • of course its in a box , but what started it ??? ... exactly ... except yours is a ""copy cat "" that Lights up lol.. hahahaha .. and when i say copy cat .. why do you think . they have Emulations from a sp1200 ?? or a mpc 60 ?? hmmmmmmmmm .... as i stated your drums stay thin .. i can hear it on my monitors ,, .. if they were fat and sound warming , i would be suprised .. but i see .. your also using krk which colorize your sound ;/ no bueno .

  • @DigitalDevilXL You're not hearing the monitors, you're hearing a bad mic from a camera. lol, gearheads. I would've considered taking your opinion to heart if you had music up that people listened to, but you don't. You're just a gearhead that makes wack beats on immaculate equipment. what a waste.

  • i dont need any videos im commin in as a critic .. and im tellin u .. ur garbage and scared to sample on an mpc ... lazy azz .. hahaa ... ayy btw your drums sound too thin .. sorry

  • @DigitalDevilXL Scared? na. I'm not scared to try other methods of making music. Hardware is software in a box dude. You can have your own opinion though.

  • Felnuts is a fagg thats a givin ,, and ..your just lazy and cant use the 2xl ... soft azz ni99a ..haha omarion lol... haha why u stealing niggas names ...

  • @DigitalDevilXL lol who are you? I know my way around my 2xl, clearly in my older videos. and I see you dont have any videos. So your opinion is irrelevant.

  • excellent quality. well done, interesting will be to listen to underground beats in your performance

    Greetings from Ukraine:)

  • Absolutely incredible talent dude! Some of the best I've ever heard on youtube. Keep doin what you're doing!!!

How long have you been making music?

  • wow man i love this. i was Just wondering if you could give me some feedback on my beats. im only 14 and i play real guitar in them and compose and write them myself.

  • Dope

  • @OnlyOmari, dude, 59 cent drinks from QuickTrip are the highlight of our summer! They have been our constant companions as we work long nights on our mixtape that will be out this fall! Loving the music man. Keep up the good work!

  • Hella dope once again.

  • the beat in the outro is just so sick. i need to learn your style.

  • King

  • yea maschine is where its at. but u sound good bro

  • This joint is dope, sometime simple is sounds better.

  • Thanks man for approving our video response! Your stuff is sick!

    Peace from Italy! :)

  • Doing it again and again and again my friend! Just too Dope for words and im loving how you explain things a little bit too, very nice. Big things will come your way bro, just keep moving on

  • OMG i love this beat !

What microphone do you use for drum?

  • Niiiiiiice track bro!

  • so you use ableton and logic?

  • @Felnuts that I do. and soon, I will add maschine to the arsenal. =)

  • @OnlyOmari word I'm looking into the maschine as well. Do you think you would use it with Logic or just use the maschine software it comes with? (which I heard is pretty good.) I only wanna buy it if it can work like a regular mpd with logic but also have the software/hardware idea goin with its own program

  • @Felnuts I plan on using it mostly standalone, from the recent update, I can run all my plugins through it, so I won't need to run it through a daw unless I'm recording vocals.

  • make drum kits this shits sick

  • @Felnuts eventually bro, gotta get my name out there first before I release anything. I got plans though.

  • @OnlyOmari The beat at the end is nice, The high nasally synth in the last song is nice! What mic do u use to record the extra percussion?? Thanks man.

  • u a muslim bro?

  • @sparrowonthebeat lol I knew that question would come up. na bro, I'm christian. I just love hats lol

  • yessir!!! dope as always bro!

  • How long does it usually take to work on one beat?

  • @SiCcAzian Varies bro. could take 10-15 minutes, could take hours. This one obviously didn't take very long, lol

  • Do you prefer Ableton or Logic?? Just curious since i've seen you work with both...

  • @WhoaaStevie I can't really say, but I can tell you that working in different DAW's influence the way your track turns out. My beats turn out different when I work in different DAWs, helped the creativity. Thats why I hate protools. It's really dull. lol

  • @OnlyOmari Same here. I hated ProTools when I tried it out lol. Thanks for replying man! :)

  • @WhoaaStevie no prob bro!

  • nice bro!

  • @LongBeachProductions thanks bro!

  • When the student is ready.....the master will arrive. Teach on teacher!!!! :)

  • @ThePianoShack lol, I'm not on the teaching level yet, I got alot to learn my self. But thanks alot Chris!

  • your nasty at making beats. can you make a video showing how to sample in logic (if you use it)? and what would you recomend to someone just starting out with sampling and stuff?

  • @AmigosDisgrace I'll do it tommorow! =)

  • George Duke Soul Treasures by Native Instruments would do so good in your hands. You are just too talented.
