  • French fri xD

  • its cooked

  • after a bunch of pokes, watch out, trypophobes.

  • thats in all his videos

  • awesome,i just saw something interesting by spangler, this is the first

  • Now, I have potato juice :D

  • it worked for me without having to block the end of the straw.

  • then we jam a few more of those and make some homemade French fries gosh i just love science

  • can u use this to make french fries?

  • The you make french fries with the part of the potato you've trapped in the straw! Mmmmmmmm.

  • air

  • Air can leave straw

  • Why do you need to poke a straw through a potato? Its not like youre gonna drink potato juice

  • @orioler1414 You don't. The point of this experiment is to learn how something as weak as a straw can cut through a potato.

  • i dont get it

  • Look how STRAWng I am!!!

  • Ps where do you get adult supervision I have done to every store but didn't find it:(

  • @namepranay Called parents

  • @DarkyRatchet Called sarcasm

  • The air goes thought it which makes the gravity pull it down

  • why does it say adult supervistion, i dont need adult supervistion to go shove a straw through a potato

  • this is very simple how it works i think that pressure is moving up and then down the straw well when the straw hits the potato the pressure goes up so theres no pressure causing it to bend becuase theres nothing blocking it like the pressure was before u hit it the pressure pretty much exites the straw and then when u have uir thumb on it the pressure cant exscape beacuase the hole is cover causing the pressure to block the bending area so it cant bend becuase the pressure is blocking it

  • and why do we need adult supervision?

  • @TassosAnswers cause i might stab yourself with the straw??? LOL

  • Grill the potato and eat it on a straw :3

  • I think cuz the potatoe parts r in the straw... That makes it stiffer

  • Yes u need adult supervision. Straws are very dangerous

  • @ Hawkshadow49 Not today! *boom*

  • Dont try it with a permanent straw.. like the ones you use everyday that come with cups your mom just bought that she's gonna be sooper mad about in the morning... oh boy

  • why would we need adult supervision to put a star into a potato

  • why would weneed adult supervision for this?

  • @michaelstraightlive because what if the child stabbed there self with the straw!!

I mean I wouldn't want to be you when you had to explain how a straw got stabbed through there hand....

  • Putting your thumb over traps the air and then the potato does after you do it twice!

  • We can do chips with that ?!

  • now i can make perfact fries

  • @ibecool2

Before that you must learn to spell perfect.

  • D

    33

  • your thumb blocks the only place for the air to escape the straw, therefore the straw has to keep going, instead of bending.

  • that song is so catchy...

  • Die, potato!!!

  • You need adult supervision?

"Mom, help me stab this here potato with a straw, please!"

  • HEY!!!! POTATOES ARE FOR EARIONG!!!! That's because I LOVE POTATOES

  • Air pressure!

  • Cylindical(??) chips!! :D

  • AIR IS BOSS!

  • so is this how to make french fries in sucha nice shape?

  • @MairacleMaker10 yes, their secret is the magical straw technique :p

  • does the potatoe hav to be cooked?

or jus a regular non cooked potatoe??

  • I've always wanted to know how to make french fries at home....

  • I wanna try this :) haha

  • I like this

  • I love how he always puts on his safety glasses, even though the experiment only involves a straw and a potato.

  • Does anyone notice at the end all the red letters spell " Science "?

  • @CraftInTheKitchen how do three s's spell science

  • @CraftInTheKitchen cool i did not know that thanks 4 telling us

  • @CraftInTheKitchen you don't say?

  • @CraftInTheKitchen NOOBS doñ´t

  • @CraftInTheKitchen Not until you told me, no :)

  • just did this, impressed all the family :)

  • @hotnpinkfeathers Ohhh! Maybe you'll get to sleep inside tonight!!!

  • GREAT Now we can get POTATO JUICE

  • i never would have thought i would need adult supervision for a potato and a straw.

  • Nice experiment

  • Anyone realize that he has a good body? God I hope it's not Steve...that would be scary

  • lol didn't even see that happen..

  • you could have perfectly cut french fries now

  • WHAT SORCERY IS THIS???

  • so that's how to make fries lol

  • @ThisMobsLeader It isn't a vacuum, because the air is present in the straw the entire time.

  • now i can do french fries business...whatup!!

  • Creates a vacum, after that he potato creates it for him other than that it's magic

  • @ThisMobsLeader it doesn't create a vacuum, it just builds up air pressure in the straw which pushes on the shaft of the straw re-enforcing it allowing it not to bend and go nowhere other than through the potato.

  • @ThisMobsLeader It isn't a vacuum, because the air is present in the straw the entire time.

  • My hypothesis is that the air pressure inside the straw keeps the straw rigid when travelling through the potato. The thin edges of the straw also create a large amount of pressure on the potato, and when both of these elements are combined, it creates a sort of 'straw-knife.' The potato slices are launched because of the fact that there is a large leak of pressure on one end, and a large surplus of pressure on the other, using pressure to launch the potato out.

    Science is amazing. :D

  • Power of air

  • awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • nice...

  • u murdered PotaTOS D:

  • I think it worked becuase he does science

  • you trap the air in so it puts all its force into the softer item (potato) and BOOM

    :trolldad:

  • I wanna see you put a needle through a balloon. A teacher at my school did it and he's a illusionist. YOU SHOULD TRY TOO!

  • this video really should have more likes and views

  • Can you do this with an apple?

  • @mvszao probebly

  • the air gets trapped in the straw when both sides are filled with potato, making a tube of trapped air. when you jab it in the potato again, the air has no other place to go, creating a massive amount of pressure that flings the other side out. I FEEL SMARTZ

  • lol oh wow i really need to try this ... with out my dad watching he already thinks im lame thianks steve :D

  • Now we need to to combine this Mentos and Diet Coke and take over the world, Buahaha.

  • When u put ur thumb over the straw u trap air in so when u jam it through the potato it stays strong because of the air in the straw

  • @MrChavezeliezer that was the worst explanation ever, that took no creative thought whatsoever.

  • And thus some kid out there manages to figure out the physics behind some form of high tech repulsion system simply from learning the force distribution of straws and potatoes. Probably not, but still.

  • @GearaldCeltaro It could happen
