  • Jonny's on harmonica. So awesome.

  • One of the best Radiohead songs period.

  • this is a sick song

  • this is radiohead's tribute to the rolling stones - oh wait that was Paranoid Android ripping off Brown Sugar

  • @8888111188887777 What? PA is influenced by Happiness is a Warm Gun. And it sounds nothing like Brown Sugar.

  • This sounds a lot like Black Swan by Thom Yorke :)

  • maybe my favorite radiohead b-side, with "pearly" -

And now that everyone mentions it, maybe it's because of that "nirvana's ring" to it, yeah.

    I never realized that.

    (^^")

  • The Beatles + Nirvana = This song

  • I am well surprised, nothing either against radiohead, but I'm well surprised, probably of their best, shall I claim out loud, and against all tides and marionettes?

  • fuck you pre-commercials, nobody loves you.

  • I am a wicked child ;9

  • ahhhhh wow, I don't even know what to say. completely incredible. it kind of makes me want to do bad things.

  • @xaussiexellex you must have missed the lyrics.

  • some grunge elements in it

  • who is the artist of this picture?

  • @sakaco88 stanley donwood & tchocky

  • @paulrpinson You do know that tchocky=Thom Yorke, right?

  • @Stiny114 yeah

  • i consider radiohead amazing musicians not a "rock" band or "alternative" just musicians they can do absolutely anything their range is limitless.

  • thegoodteacher(dot)com

  • This song's a hypnotizing one. I can listen to this, and only this, the whole day long and I never get bored. This is just the best shit you can listen to.

  • So much fucking attitude in that riff.

  • 14 people are not creeps or weirdos

  • Hi! Somebody Checked out "fall away" Radiohead b-side (Youtube) ?

    It s awesome !

    Thxs for uploading...

  • this is the best to resort to these days to be reminded that good music still exists today

  • I wonder what alternative title this song would have if it was on the album.

  • @ambskater97 I Am A Wicked Child (Sin Baby, Sin - Walk The Crooked Path - Little Man, Lost Innocence) =D

  • better than anything on king of limbs. this has a 1970's rock and roll sound to it, kind of like the rolling stones or something. dig it.

  • @seanmitchell88 Yeah, I really wish they'd make a whole album like this.

  • i never got this song in my album in rainbows?

  • @mst3ksanta nevermind :P

  • What the fuck @ 1:29 :))

  • What genre doesn't Radiohead have?

  • these guys never cease to amaze me.

thumbs up if youd give both your legs to be this creative

  • @arex82 i wouldn't give my legs even for the control of all the world

  • @gdevil4 Hey, if you could control the world you'd probably somehow manage to get those legs back. Don't be so hasty to refuse that offer!!

  • @arex82 Two legs won't be enough :))

  • where can i dwld this beautiful song

  • to radiate his lie?

  • @1005MYBABY yep!

  • Greenwood playing harmonica.... WOW.

Still really like whate he had done on Platform blues from Pavement.

  • lol i came at 2 something when tom yorke screams "hearttt" not because of him. but i'm sure their music was a contributing factor.

  • the most rock and roll song of them that i've heard

  • @lopitumpi perhaps you should check out The Bends, My Iron Lung EP, Airbag/How's My Driving, and OK Computer. That's their rock.

  • @treefingers1206 i have.. but still think the same

  • Radiohead Rules. Thom Yorke is a genious.

  • @WacoReally

    >Genious

  • I don't think Thom's voice really lends itself to this kinda stuff. It's cool regardless.

  • @Ajapam34

    eat it ajapam

  • @Ajapam34 ok I've changed my mind... this is awesome

  • send baby Jesus to radiate his light for I am a wicked child

  • Radiohead should release a best-of b-sides album. But then again there'd be too many tracks.

  • they could do any kind of music. this just proves they cold kill the blues.....love this song

  • now i wake up in the night

strungen at my arms and legs

    like i was a marionette

  • best song of radiohead

  • I don't want to offend anyone, but this track sounds a lot like "Voodoo Lounge"-era of Rolling Stones, especially with the harmonica. But of course it's bluesy & great!

  • @julianuary you couldn't offend anyone by comparing radiohead to the rolling stones. one is awesome

  • amazing

  • ya...

  • Wow. This is amazing.

  • Is the ending, "Radiate his light" or "Radiate his lie" ?

  • @ghostphantom563 their website says lie

  • @ghostphantom563 light..

  • The rhythm for this track is downright sassy:) It's further proof that Radiohead will always set the standard, when it comes to making high quality material.

  • yeaaah

  • My son loves Radiohead! And he wants to go see them live with me!! :D

  • @midnightpopsongs damm... ur son is a jewel

  • this reminds me of nirvana

  • this reminds me sonic youth :B

  • wow this does sound like nirvana! is there a single bad radiohead song?

  • what is the harp used by radiohead in this song?

The harp give a great western style

  • i have hail to the theif, this song isnt on the CD?

    Wtf?

  • @carnesaur

it's a b-side from the single for Go To Sleep, not actually on the album.

  • @carnesaur

it's in com lag 2plus2isfive radiohead this compilation is for japan

  • @carnesaur

    haha fail

  • It kind of has a Unplugged Nirvana feel to it. not sure if anyone else agrees

  • i agree

  • @AnOriginalPenguin I agree. Totally.

  • @AnOriginalPenguin dude best comparison ever

  • @AnOriginalPenguin Reminds more of the Stone Roses.

  • is this song some sort of an homage to old school rock?it sure seems that way.not just the music, the lyrics too.

  • dude i thought the same exact thing. but i like it a lot

  • EVERY single radiohead song is amazing, even b-sides... they are masters of a new age of alternative music

  • Damn I wish I had this album cos I've gotten too accustomed to listening to "live at Glastonbury '03".

  • seems like a bjm song kind of

  • jonny used to play harmonica in on a friday, before radiohead were radiohead. he got to relive it for a bit on this song ahaha

anyway awesome song, one of my favorite b sides

  • he also plays harmonica on Kid A, the song.

but you can't really hear it that well, cause it's all processed. if you can get hold of the live version of Kid A they played in Berlin in 2000, you can hear the harmonica loud and clear. it's a great version of the song, quite different.

  • Good call, I love that version of Kid A, and never quite realized that sound was a harmonica!

  • Bears a lot of similarities to The Meat Puppet's 'Plateau'.

  • Wow! Why haven't I heard this before?? This is a GREAT song.

  • this band never lets me down =)

  • the harmonica sounds so cool!!!

more harmonica songs from radiohead please!!!

  • if I would be able to make an album from all their b-sides it would be better then most albums nowadays...! on the beach, i am a wicked child, meeting in the isle, follow me around, you never wash up after yourself, lozenge of love (!), true love waits, polethylene, gagging order, for (live version) and maybe The present tense ( its gonna get on their album anyways but whatever... its awesome!)

this would make a top album!!!

  • Grow up! lol...Like 60s San Fran....Yeah way out man! lol

  • And this is why I think Radiohead is such a great band. Their b-sides are of such good quality it could compete with the actual songs on the albums. Not many bands these days could claim that distinction.

  • Oasis B sides are great too! But I see your point! Radiohead records masterpieces all day er day

  • @SilverestFuel You´re kidding ? Their B-sides are perfect: there´s a lot of them, and most of them are actually very good songs, like " Meeting in the Aisle ", " The Trickster ", " Pop is Dead ", " How I made my millions "," India Rubber ", " Maquiladora ", and a lot more !

For those who are about to listen to Radiohead, I salute you !

  • @eazzy93 actually, pop is dead was a single. and it really is a bad one

  • @SilverestFuel In my opinion, Deftones can claim that distinction. Easily.

  • @SilverestFuel Porcupine Tree's b-sides are always better than the song on their albums.

  • @SilverestFuel Well, y'know, some Muse b-sides are *better* than the album tracks.

  • @Vlodrak

that doesn't take much, anything is *better* than the tracks of the resistance! its like a cover album, but they only cover rubbish songs! Exogenises and mk ultra are exempt from this however. but still.

Muse were my favorite band for years, then when I found radiohead they were a close close second, but jesus, I actually (seriously now) thought that album was some kind of joke, and the fans were the butt of it. Unitedstates of ueroasia is like a pretentious queen cover.

    -endrant-

  • @SilverestFuel Just saying, But Muse can :) I think they both have awesome B-sides. Like you said, not that many bands can attest to that :/

  • Not Nirvana sounding, it's more of a groovy, bluesy song from Radiohead.

  • radiohead rules!

  • Sounds a bit like Nirvana, for Nirvana sound a very bit like Krautrock from the 60s like

    Can from GER

    (search for "Thief"by them)

or even more like Sweet Smoke

(search for "Bay Night" by them)

    Kraut rocks

  • And Thom is a big Can fan.

  • Awesome song, sounds a bit like nirvana

  • yeah that isa true. It does have a bit of a Nirvana 90s drawl to it.

  • there's a 'live version' of this on youtube, without vocals during a soundcheck, where Jonny plays fucking BANJO!

i can SO imagine Jonny on banjo with a harmonica holder playing both at once... god that would be win.

    If only.

  • Yeah, but Thom said banjos are "banned" ...

  • yeah i know, i think it was also Jonny who said Thom is a good person, except for his irrational Hatred for Banjos. Something to that extent, hahaha xD

  • This B-side kicks the arses of so many songs from the "Hail To The Theif" album. Just improve the production a little and this could have been one of the highlights, if not the best song on the album.

  • Perhaps because this b-side was recorded during the 2001 Kid A/Amnesiac sessions according to sources close to the band.

  • Thank you for putting this up!

Seeing them at the end of August, can't waiiiit :D

  • Sorry if this has already been mentioned before, but the lyrics are incorrect for this version of the song. He never sings "Lying on my bed" or "Surely it is time", at the ned bit he simply sings "Send baby Jesus, to radiate his light, to radiate his light".

On a more pedantic note he sings "for" as opposed to "cause" (first verse), and never sings "for you" (second verse).

Nice one for putting the song up though!

  • No, whydontyouremember, the song you are referring to is a Meat Puppet's song. And just because a song is in the same key doesn't mean it sounds like another song. Stop making musical references that don't make sense.

  • drums & guitar in this song sound like nirvana; plateau

  • it's always been my song !

  • This is a great song. Me and a few of my friends did a sort of remix of the song. Same riff, but sped up and our own things added. If you want to see it just type "Epic Good Jamming Session" Its the first result

  • And THEN you (with a little help from me) made the EPIC Epic Good Jamming Session.

  • er... i do not believe i know you, so um.. wtf r u talking about?

  • HAHA, yeah you DO know me

  • By the way we played reckoner and sympathy for the devil during the EPIC Epic Good Jamming Session

  • Yeah, and you're absolute shite. =/

  • least he tried o.O

  • I recently fell in love with this song. It's so good! Unlike anything I've heard before. In my top 5 favourite RH b-sides.

  • This song is amazing!!! Damn I love me some Radiohead!!!

  • they should make an ablum just outta their B-Sides, they are some amazing stuff on them

  • I have not an album, but a compilation that I downloaded called, B sides and Rarities. I got it on my ipod now.

  • whoa, where can i get it?

  • Um, it was a long time ago. I work with a guy who uses "News Leecher" He downloaded it from there. If u want send me a friend request and I might be able to send you the whole thing, & I would like to correct myself, the name of it is called quote, "Fucking Rarities." It is awesome. "B-Sides and Rarities" is the name of a Deftones compilation that I have, It has them covering "Simple Man" by Skynard. Totally pisses on Shinedown. They also cover "No Ordinary Love" by Sade' It is incredible.

  • oh yea? ive got some of that deftones album, no ordinary love is awesome! i will send you that friend request :]

  • i have that same deftones album you're talking about, it's pretty good

  • It's a bit bluesy, with the harmonica(which was Johnny's original place in the band, Harmonica player), and the disorted guitars.

  • Johnny is an epic multi-instrumentalist. >.>

  • my baby loves radiohead..

  • god if my children don't like radiohead i may have to adopt ones that do!!!!

  • seriously

  • Same. I'm CULLING all my children until they're suitably appreciative of RH.

  • Don't lose hope, though! I hated Radiohead when I was young(er) and saw them at Glastonbury and thought they were rubbish. Now they're my favourite band.

  • @DisappearCompletely1

They would be wicked children! A-ha!

    I'm sorry, I leave now.

  • @DisappearCompletely1 I'm 15 and i love radiohaed i've learned almost everysingle song by them on guitar or piano or some type of instrument their briliant

  • @earwaxy I wish i could do that. I can only sing and i almost can play on the guitar :D

  • @DisappearCompletely1

adopt me-my parents don't like radiohead XD!

  • @DisappearCompletely1 we cant let them fell into that lady gaga and miley cyrus shit hahaha

  • @DisappearCompletely1 I think at every humans core there is a love of Radiohead, so I think you're relatively safe. I introduced my sister to Radiohead a couple years back, who listens almost exclusively to top 20 pop stuff, and since that day I'll casually walk down the hall past her bedroom and overhear the national anthem or something, haha. So have faith!

  • @DisappearCompletely1

    Adopt me?

My parents don't like Radiohead all that much,

  • this b side dound totali diferent from the hail to the thief but have the concept of the disc

  • i dont think so.

i think the religious references in their lyrics are purely cynical.

    but hey;

    i might be wrong.

  • are any of radiohead actually religious? i have no idea

  • I love this song!

It's good and it also makes me laugh abit :D But in a good way

  • does this sound like go to sleep to anyone other than me?

  • YES!

    it reallly does

  • yo, it sounds like it cause its the b-side to go to sleep, radiohead ftw

  • that would probably explain it then, cheers lol

  • ONE OF THE BEST B SIDES

  • anyone can tellme what its a b-side sorry for my ignorance XD

  • The term "B-side" comes from the days of 45 records that had a hit single on the "A-side" and a usually not as good song on the "B-side" that would not receive radio airplay. Radiohead have released many EPs that, along with tunes that also appear on the full albums, contain other songs not destined for radio play and that didn't make it onto the album. These songs are called B-sides. In their case, most of the so-called B-sides are just as good, if not better, than the full length album songs.

  • Street Spirit's B-side was Talk Show Host, a song most definitely worthy of being it's own single. This is sometimes called a double A-side.

  • I havent heard this song before; im astonished, this is so different to what we were used to listen from radiohead in that time. Nice!

  • i know dude its jazz/country Radiohead HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!

  • wtf percussion is amazing

  • its funny cause i remember when i first heard radiohead back when i was too young to appretiate. my older brother bought ok computer, and its funny now cause he listens to rap but we still talk about how crazzzzzy ok computer is

  • happy new year!!!!!...m' first radiohead song for the year

    they are so fantastic....

how have i missed them these many years???????????

  • Is anyone else getting a Pixies/Cactus vibe off this song?

Not that it's anything less than a good thing, naturally.

  • sounds cobainish to me.....

  • thats what i thought as well.

i sounds like nirvana unplugged sort of.

  • I had a cactus once and it fell on the floor. I couldn't be arsed to clean it up and ended up standing on it bare foot three days later. Fucking hurt.

  • id say Lighting Hopkins mixed with a little with a little bit of Rush but thats one of many discriptions id say some kinda blues musician mixed with some southern rock with just that backround feeling of jazz

  • How on earth is this a B side, it's amazing.

  • not that young folks care.......however,

my favourite stones song is a b-side....

think i'm goin' mad, b-side/ she was hot

radiohead is a deep well of brilliance, it will take years to absorb..old folks catch on late(these guys are my age...how did i miss?)

  • My favorite Radiohead song is a b-side, 'Gagging Order.'

  • yes drryangibbons, i agree `Gagging Order' --a perfect gem of a song. reminds me of nick drake, beautiful sparse simplicity. words cannot describe how amazing it is.

  • I feel that it's not quite finished... it's good, but not quite complete.

  • Timaster...i agree they are far from finished. i just meant it would take ME personally years to absorb their body of work. i tend to listen repeatedly to music i enjoy so that i can download it to my brain's mainframe, if you will, thusly being able to recall a song almost in it;s entirely.....i relate to the term `radiohead' in this manner. never knew what it was before...

  • I was responding to SneezlyGravelBall, actually. The song is a b-side because it doesn't feel like a complete song.

  • oops, sorry Tim!
