It's not inhumane to me, and I'm a vegan. This could happen in the wild, if a fish tried to snip off the planarian's head. The thing looks fine, it can't even tell that it has 8 heads, LOL - and with learning how planaria grow, scientists could learn more about how these animals work and helping them.
They can feel pain, what are you talking about? Their little earlobes are sensitive to touch, and they're among the simplest life forms to have a central nervous system.
Nani, just because you have a nervous system doesn't mean you feel pain. There is virtually nothing besides the most primitive centralized NVS in the animal kingdom. The body cavity is little to none, and there is no pain, not even physical pain let alone "realization" of pain like Humans, and only humans, can realize.
So, are those the 2 eye spots on the ends of each... head?

hehe yee. But I don't want an incapacitated planarian.....it makes me feel so sorry for it, even though they can't process emotion.

Disintergration can kill them. That accidentally happened to a few of mine at school. I felt really bad about it. :/
