unfortunitly during this survey the phone was still on 1.0 FW if they did it with 1.5 or 1.6 the response of the male users would be different because it has the touch keyboard and auto rotate. also this phone is a tank mine has been dropped prolly a few dozen times without breaking only a good road bite mark on the edge (bought it 3rd hand)

The focus of the comparisons here are way off the mark. You are comparing Android to Iphone, not a gphone. Any phone running Andriod is a Gphone, so in the future you will have one Iphone and many Gphones. Some with keyboards, some without etc... But if you really want to know why the Iphone won't compare to the Android just do a search on "Android Locale" . It's not possible for any programmer to built that app on an Iphone ...and more are coming. They are brain dead simple to use too.

To be honest i have used the G1 for a while and i liked it due to the apps they had, i mean they have great apps for the phone, but when it comes to the iphone 3g function compared to the g1, i will say no.. g1 battery is a headache, it dies quick and charges long, touch screen is not as smooth like the iphone, The iphone 3g is the best, if u know Cyida.

hit menu from the home screen then settings>sound & display>check the orientation box and when you want to use it just tap the text box or turn it sideways without opening the keyboard and it will turn horizontal automatically and you can use th touch screen keyboard in landscape mode too

yes, I admit that the iPhone's keyboard has a learning curve, but after a few days it learns your habits and you pick up a considerable amount of speed. In no way am I claiming that it is better or worse than the G1's; I'm just sick of people dismissing it as a flaw. In my personal experience, I type faster on the iPhone than on my previous full-keyboard phones.
