crossing the darrien gap without getting killed by geurrillas or sucked up by meters of swamp - a monumental achievement. "bypassing" the gap - not so much. you should change the title of your video.

@rockymountainsunrise ya know, i did this at nineteen back in '79 with a boat hired in el real. i also stayed in union choco with the indians. ic things got REAL posh as time has gone on. so your "monumental achievement" kinda' makes me chuckle. i was one of the first.

We didn't actually visit the Darien, we sailed past it. The Afro Darienitas sound interesting though. The closest we got to the Darien Gap was the San Blas Islands which were a Carribean dream: both culturally and scenery-wise.

How was Darien. Did you get to visit the AFRO DARIENITAS ?

It was about US$360 per person and took 5 days. The time it takes depends on how long you stop in the San Blas Islands and the winds/weather. We also had to pay US$100 for the bicycles.
