@anokaguy Glad you are asking the same question. It's partly the industry's fault for the lowered standards and the people in the industry who have no sense of real talent or taste. So you see phoney "talent" because those in the position to judge who is qualified, or "talented" may be equally as phoney. As the saying goes, "birds of a feather flock together."
Wow! One of my favorite albums as a kid (my parents saw the show on a date before they married.) The movie version is pretty bad; the humor is undercut by the strangest directorial choices. This was pure pleasure to watch. Was it a television special? Is there more available? Thank you so much for posting!!

THank you so, so much for posting this. I've always loved the album and always wished to see the original version, about which my mother used to talk all the time. WHat a gift!
Thank you VERY much for posting this rare gem!!!! I've liked this show ever since I was a little boy from listening to my mother's 45rpm set of highlights. Out of curiosity, do you know what TV show were these excerpts performed on?
Paul long attributed his signature laugh to Alice Ghostly.

Where did all the talent go? Will we ever seen such depth in performers again?

I saw that production in Chicago three times. I loved it! I also have the album. I am now almost 76 years old and I remember every song!
