  • i think it kind of says something about us humans when we are able to crossover and show such love and skill for an art form from another culture. like maybe we are not all as fundamentally different as we think. Well anyway its kind of fascinating mr spock.

  • your sense of rhythm is impeccable!! i want to play drums with you!

  • I like this...echos of Bill Evans and Thelonious Monk...(imho).. playing needs to be perhaps, more relaxed, however I enjoyed this rendition.

    Zen is when.....

  • It's ok for a female to play forcefully, this tune however force back fires, and the sentence is enhanced becase she's female. But that is performance note, skill wise - subarashii

  • reminds me of Thelonious Monk but you do have a real own sound.

indeed, like Zombbg4 said, heavy feel on such a beautiful ballad what's sometimes strange.

    Although verry nice!

  • Incredible playing! I enjoyed the emotion and soul behind it. If I could add one suggestion it would just be that it was very heavy on the sus pedal...

  • nice groove

  • wonderful way to make a wonderful music look even more wonderful... this girl >>>>>>> bill evans. you suck bill evans suck suck suck suck learn to play piano bill! wait, you're dead.

  • The prince never knew what hit him!

  • interesting interpretation (in a good way)

a bit heavy on the pedal but otherwise amazing!

  • Kind of strange all together. Very heavy feel on a light, dreamy ballad. Your comping and phrasing has a classical feel at times. Parts make me think of an epic concerto.

  • Agreed fully.

  • I agree, Zombbg4.

  • Ditto. Sounds like she's playing Scriabin!

  • Could I hear some humming/singing while playing? Great, the mind is working 100% and beyond, I wish I could some of that, keep up the good work, have you heard the same song on Chick Corea " Acoustic Band? " CD.

I am nearly 50 years old now and have never reached your standard, chords wise... nearly though, still trying and doing quite well and most of all enjoying it like you are.

  • Formidable

Like she talks to the piano

and the piano talks to her.

Never seen that - Compare it with Stephen Hough

    who tames the piano

    HiSea, She caresses . . .

  • Formidable

  • Really great! :)

  • Great stuff! A bit heavy handed, you could do with bass and drums with you it will save you having to reach all those supportive bass routes, then you can really express yourself.

Make sure the bass player knows what he or she is doing and get the right notes!

  • haha the ending is funny ^^

Nothing very interresting I think but still a nice try, it's hard to play solo.

I find it a pity that you don't have so many rythmic variations in you melodic phrases. It's only eighth notes or very fast scales. But nothing in between.

But beautiful chords. And nice stride. Actually I really liked the first theme (really!) but the rest not so much.

  • Thought : A Belgium Joke here . . . but

    I heard you - using 5 notes -

she's much better - better than me too, before you answer with that .

  • Try to end the music in a simplier manner. Aside from that, I loved it. I was writting an e-mail to a very dear friend of mine while hearing you play, and I was almost crying of emotion... Good job =)

  • bill evans would be proud

  • Hmmm....this is a long ways from Evans.

  • Agreed

  • huh?

  • Original~

  • very nice. feels heavy. maybe a little too heavy for my tastes

  • agreed, you're breaking the piano on a very tender tune

  • I think the coolest thing, besides the nice chords, is at 6:29 when she works in "the standard jazz ending" but up a fifth! And then gets back to her grandiose style to close. I love it.

  • She is the thumper to end all thumpers

  • Again, you are very sexy. I like watching your body move, your back straight and also humming through the phrases. I feel all your vital information. I want to be your PRINCE!!!!

  • I never knew a Japanese can be this much FUNKY!

    She is something else. seriously!

  • she's just amazing..

    I can't stop listening.

Anyone noe where I can get the mp3 file for this?

  • meh, left hand is a bit muddy, partly due to mic placement, but also partly due to weakness in technique. anyway, better than me, but a long way to go still. kind of makes me sad that this is getting more hits than hiromi uehara or any of the jazz greats.

  • GREAT JOB *aplause*

i like it nice jazz melody what i like most are the few little blues elements that are here and there :) great :D and the the part around the 3rd min :D

  • beautiful.

  • her movement is so smooth~~ its like she's simply tapping on the water! AMAZING!! =D
