@delevero2: "a proud country who invented alot of things... ( jet power, slobe tank amour, sattelite, helicopters, ).."
Ahm.. well, dude, none of these is russian. The first "jet power" was German (Me-262). The first slobe tank amour was on a French tank. The first satellite was put in orbit by russians, but the scientists and the tecnologies come from Penemunde German projects (Von Braun). And, finally, the first helicopter was German, again (Fw 61).
@MegAndJas: no I'm not, dude. Due the 500 characters limit, I couldn't write more details. Frank Whittle was actually working on jet engines few years before than Germans (he patented it on 1930), but the first jet engine actually flying was German (1939), patented by Hans von Ohain in 1936. Moreover, even Italians were working to a kinda jet engine, starting from 1928 by Secondo Campini. He presented it to the Italian Royal Airforce in 1931 and its first operational flight was in '40
@MegAndJas: anyhow, Sir Frank Whittle and Dr. Hans von Ohain are both recognized as being the co-inventors of the jet engine. No one has stolen or copied the other inventor work. Just a kind of "timing coincidence". Cheers.
People should think twice before they look down upon Russia.. Its a proud country who invented alot of things... ( jet power, slobe tank amour, sattelite, helicopters, ).. Yes many designs do not look cool and modern but it is reliable and "easy" to repair and cost much less. Personal I would rather have a reliable car than a high tech car that break down again and again.. The same is with military hardware.. you want reliable stuff that work and can save your life or a plastic gun.. ;-)
