@AustinNRG - We did an experiment trying to print on golf balls but the ink in the inkjet cartridges was not "permanent" - it's designed to be used on permeable surfaces (such as paper). In short, though it would print, it would rub right off. :( We theorized we could print on a golf ball (or other ball made of impermeable surfaces like bowling balls etc) and then coat the printing in a coat of clear lacquer to protect it. We never did make a machine that would print and coat - yet. :)
There was a robot that wrote your name on a golf ball at some exhibition I went to about five years ago. But that was some industrial machine, a homebuild is way cooler.
Heh! I hadn't thought about that. IIRC those were laser engraved wooden spheres...? :) I think laser engraving ping pong balls would make for some interesting pyrotechnics!
ya we thought of that too but then we thought about it because we needed to launch a projectile from a air cannon as advertisement WITHOUT killing people or injuring it was an idea though (just F.Y.I i helped build the thing that shoots the balls THE PONGINATOR!!!!1!)
Could this print golf balls and any other relatively small balls?
...not Weiner's of course...lol

don't get me wrong I like it, The l.e.w.s. are the Idealistic budget for movie cops. The ping pong printer would be the real world budget equivalent.
