No, actually most American children think that the entire western hemisphere is one giant continent. Whenever asked to locate the Philippines 90% of our 8th-9th graders pointed at the British isles. When asked to locate New Zealand most teens point at Japan. And 96% of American 11th graders don't know that Africa is its own continent.

Yes, this four minute video posted on youtube is pretty much an American geography lesson. Yup, in fact we actually watch youtube for our geography lessons.
