hey guys, if you have a spare minute could you check out some of my guitar-work on my channel, it would be really appreciated. It sucks to advertise like this but it seems like the only way to get exposure. Thanks if you do check them out :)
@xXPinkGoddessXx always a instresting song with those vocals..i love it too,
the song taps into the 'lamonte young' drone minimalism that john cale helped bring into the band's sound, in this case featuring processed vocals from nico that float hauntingly over the proceedings and give the piece an eastern feel.
@sonicjay007 Ah, so it is Nico, thanks for that! I tend to think Nico's voice was a little misused in the Velvets, I don't think it was suited to a song like 'Femme Fatale' for instance. But here it works perfectly, like it did in her own work. If Nico was around today there would have been many more options for a unique voice like hers.
@xXPinkGoddessXx yeah i totally agree with you about 'Femme Fatale' but think she sounded 'Stunning' on lou's All Tomorrows Partys'.
i think that nico would love these Experimental times in music..and would be collaborating left, right, and centre with artists on Opposite ends of the great music spectrum.
@xXPinkGoddessXx nico's voice/effects on here and other songs reminds me of english experimental group 'Broadcast' esp lead singer trish's haunting voice/treatment..i highly reccomend their latest material 'Broadcast and the focus group 'Just Stunning'...
