My god folks, an almost equal amount of people liked both of them. It was an unprecedented, before and since, close vote, with less than one half of one percent between them. Both men have gone on to better lives than they had before AGT 2008.
I like Neil ! He is obviously passionate about singing. As a Tenor myself, I will tell you that you need to lose the false vibrato, you don't need it. You have a natural voice and it good, but could be twice as good ! that I promise !. Well done and keep going !
Holy Crap people, this was not the National Anthem (which is the Star Spangled Banner, written by Francis Scott Key), This was America the beautiful..
I was at this game! He has a great voice and this video does not do this performance justice. Being at the stadium and hearing it over the loudspeakers was just amazing
I was at that game! It was on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 against Milwaukee in St. Louis! I was in outfield field box section 166. I remember him and thought he was really awesome but did'nt realize who it was till now :) I spent the whole day in St. Louis that day and earlier that afternoon the Jonas Brothers was there also getting a tour of Busch Stadium becuase they were going to perform in St. Louis that night or later that week.
I had him picked to win AGT from the beginnning. I cry too everytime I hear him sing. His singing is magical and speaks to the soul. Size in this case does not matter, only the voice. Neil, please keep on singing and I can't wait for the album. Sing on, brother!
Most of you leaving messages about it being hard to sound that good in a big stadium. YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT !!!! Those of you that think his performance was dull ... you have no talent.
Singing in a stadium like that is difficult to do. And the recording quality on that wasn't the best. We all know he can do better from seeing him on AGT. I sang the national anthem at a baseball game for the Triple A team here and it was pretty hard with the delay in the stadium.
He sounds a bit off key in a couple of places, and I thought he did much better on America's Got Talent, but I can imagine how difficult it would be to give an impromptu acapella performance like that.
I'm sure any one of the five could have been a suitable winner but he won and you're just displaced because it wasn't the one that you wanted. Here 's a tip for you suck it up buttercup

Yeah, I liked the way he went to get the mic before the announcer was finished.
What was worse than that was at time 1:20 when the announcer was getting people to stand and clap and Neal didn't know it.

Yeah, but the "pudding" is made with milk that's "off".
mikeylorene 3 years ago
Clean out the wax in your ears and you'll hear much better.. wait it's not that ..you're just tone deaf. Nothing can be done for that!!!
brownsugah66 3 years ago 5
Tone deaf means can't carry a note on key, not hear properly... HEY! You just nailed the problem!
mikeylorene 3 years ago
No tone deafness also means you have difficulty or being unable to correctly hear relative differences between notes.....Wikipedia it

Assumptive statements will not make him sing BETTER.
mikeylorene 3 years ago
I never said he had a problem singing,I said you had the problem and that is a true statement not assumptive.
brownsugah66 3 years ago 3
Not only do you have difficulty hearing ,it's also with understanding as well....
brownsugah66 3 years ago 3
Hey! You just nailed your own problem !
brownsugah66 3 years ago 3
So the milk will probably always be 'off' in your case

Wrong on all counts, push, but if you like wasting your money on someone who sings off key, be my guest.

Yeah, Tiger- notice every time he sings the host has to TELL us he's got talent.
mikeylorene 3 years ago
yerp, its like they are being sympathetic to him haha

He'll now get invited to alot of ball games to sing this. :)
