Great video! I would love to have that many RRs with me... Right now I have just one 9 month old puppy, but I would love to have 100 RRs!! They are excellent dogs, the best of them all!! Hopefully in the near future I will have more so that they can play and have fun like yours.
Iv'e been exchanging posts with another youtube user on another RR video regarding RR'S courage.
This person is trying to tell me that RR'S are not very courages if or when they get in a quarrel with another dog. He said he has seen RR'S run from other dogs with their tails between their legs after tangling with serious working dogs. I told him if you have seen an RR run from another dog..then thats not of the correct RR temperament.
I'm very curious as to where 'this person" is living and from which bloodlines these 'coward' RR's are descending.
All the RR's I know in The Netherlands (and I do know quite a few) have in contrary strong characters and are self-assured/confident towards other dogs.
So, yes I definitely agree with the conclusion in the last sentence of your comment!!
Catscottage..this person i debated with was from the U.S.
I just couldn;t believe his comments..because every RR i have ever seen would never ever back down from anything or any dog. I perceive RR to be one of the most gutsy dogs i have ever seen.
From what iv'e seen over the years in regards to RR'S..my moto is...."Dont F$%# with a Ridgeback". And i have told many a peoples this!
Americans bastardize many dog breeds. So it doesn't surprise me that the have RR's with a different temperaments lol
I wouldn't categorize the US Ridgebacks like that, I have two Ridgebacks and they are in no way wimpy and all the Ridgebacks I have encountered are in no way wimpy. Most likely it was just that guys dogs.
This looks just like the area I took my RR in the early 90's- in the Netherlands- all the rrs loved each other and there was no trouble- they loved to have thier kind to play with. If you don't know then, this could look like agression- but it absolutely is not...these hounds are happy, having fun, enjoying the pack, and inviting each other-tempting each other into play. They respect each other and know how to play! I LOVE this!
Fantastic video! What great fun, and they all get on so well...nice to see the good-boned RRs...adding you to my short list of favs! And think I've purchased some great old RR stuff from you on ebay? Thanks for sharing such a great video!
@hunayboy22 but look at the body language. The tails are down, they're lying down to invite the others to play, no hackling, no death-stares, no squaring. They're just playing!
Thx saw a lot of yr videos in the mean time and am impressed by the skills of your beautiful RR!!!!
The headshot in my videos belong to my very own Pride and Joy RR-male called "Daan". You are welcome to view more pics of him through my website (see channel).
