Putting a REAL musician like Richie Kotzen in this band was akin to bring a fucking tank to a slapfight. Rikki's fiancee left him because the dude is one of THE dumbest motherfuckers still aloud to use electricity. And as for CC. EVERY damn solo is the same. He cant find his way out of a scale for more than 2 notes before going back. Best album they ever did and all of it's singles were Kotzens. I hate to inform all of Bret's fans but he became the 2nd best vocalist when RK joined.

kotzen basically saved the band in 93, the year of grunge shit. poison needed respect that they can roll with the times and able to be a real musicians since the hair days were gone. and the product is native tongue. a very technical record.

I agree with TJ17. CC cant really and hasn't ever come to this much phrasing ability or guitar tone. I loved CC back in the day, and die hard fans are just going to love CC better because he was an original member. Unfortunately he is not anywhere in the same league, guitar playing, singing or song writing as Kotzen. Their best musical album was Naitive Toungue. If that would've been released after Open Up it would've been huge.

Very rarely are good player recognized in the media. Slash, Richie Sambora, Jimmy Page, Hendrix and some of the few that are recognized while there are a tone that arent.
