  • You MUST see her live at stage! The Lady and the piano, what an amazing double!

I like her (music) so much.

  • This song is about not getting the cover of the Cornflake box- it went ot Sarah Jessica Parker...

  • I think shes too good looking, but thats ok, she can take my breathe away, I like that feeling.

  • insanely beautiful woman

  • I am so in love with this song right now. My dad told me that I used to listen to this song as a little girl, and while I was too young to remember it properly, it does seem familiar, like a beautiful distant memory.

  • She is an amazing talent. I watched her play a different piano with each hand-flawlessly-one time, She was brutally raped at some point and this of course changed her life but she does talk about it. Hope that helps her.

  • She's so cool !!!

    And she's really beautiful !

  • why is this song of hers so great and everything else she has ever done sounds so terrible?

  • @MundyArtStudio It takes an aquired taste in music i guess

  • The song is about a traumatic experience she had as a child eating fruit loops.

  • she looks like sally Philips

  • a true musician

  • Reminds me of Catherine Tate(mad thought)....Tori always erudite ,sexy&trippy...!!

  • Had the chance to see Tori perform this song LIVE. She got a STANDING OVATION when doing this song.. Girl has MAD PIANO SKILLS.. love her forever,

  • I really love that version of the video. It's dark and in some point it's tricky. Don't understand all the hate.

  • A piano prodigy.

  • If I had 1 wish I'd wish for Tori Amos

  • UK version ......please :)

  • @volitionlocked yes. cuz i would love that!

  • Que guachita sexy la Tori....

  • I don't see what the arguing is about. The meaning is pretty straightforward, it's about women who mistreat women. She was inspired by hearing about female circumcision in Africa.

  • Comment removed

  • I have a brilliant idea! Let's all NOT enjoy this song at once and argue about irrelevant points....on the Internet.....in a comment section.

  • WTF where is the european version

getting really sick of this puritan crap i love this song and the music video was amazing

    now this really spoils it

  • Youtube you suck! I was actually forced to listen to this version as the uk version is gone! If this is part of the new censorship stuff, you are soooo getting BOYCOTTED! you aint the only game in town youtube, jus in case yu think you are!

  • I havent got the foggiest idea what she is going on about! But i do, and have always, loved this song !

  • bizzaaaaaaaaaaaaaar, but i like it!

  • can someone put the UK version of this song, please

  • @theyellowrose92 when the writer of song says that the song is about one thing, and some random person like you comes and tells me the exact opposite of what the writer saidabout her own song, I find that I have to believe the writer from her own words and mouth and not random morons talking a whole lot of nonsense. Please waste your false rumors on somebody else. They're not very entertaining to me.

  • The message I think concerns women's inhumanity to women.

  • where'd you put the keys girl?

  • Go look it up if you ignorant fucks can't figure it out

  • No. From what I gather this song is about female circumcision. It's about abuse. Turning this song into your own racial stuff is just ignorant. Knock it off.

  • why cant i find a girl that looks like her

  • people not bothering to find out the meaning of songs? Interpreting it their own way? OMG somebody call Tori before she starts to cry. LOL

  • Sounds a little like The House Of The Rising Sun

  • I don't much like her voice but I can't stop listening to the piano in this!

  • where is the original video of this song?? that one was so much better

  • 1:09 very hot...

  • Sounds alot like Kate Bush!

  • This reminds me of my bestfriend, I miss her a lot.

  • When the man is in the cauldron and cut the carrot this means that they castrating him?

  • why do they have to alter the audio for it to be allowed?

  • @iloverich2 because of american censorship

  • @SuperSimonuk, censorship is not the same thing as copyright issues.

  • @WastedPo I know that, but i know there is a lot more censorship in the USA than in the UK

  • @SuperSimonuk yeh but its still the same song? i dont get it

  • @starcatfri What...??? Where do some of you people get these ideas from??? Raisin girls means the black girls!?? Rape?? What?? I think people like you don't even bother trying to find out the true meaning of songs just so you can make up cooky answers that yours. Just... Wow

  • @QBFOJustin well... Tori Amos says it's about her rape...

  • @QBFOJustin actually... i lied. just did my research again. its about bisexuality lol.

  • @theyellowrose92 It's not about her rape nor is it about bisexuality. Either you're mixing this up with "Me and a Gun" and "Raspberry Swirl" or you were misinformed.

  • @QBFOJustin Rasin Girls is Ugly Girls!!! Cornflake Girls are the pretty popular girls!

  • @ashleyhanna0 Um... no. But I do applaud how open you are to sounding stupid and how confident you are thinking you're funny in some way. It deserves recognition.

  • @QBFOJustin Raisin girls does not mean 'black girls' Tori Amos was pictured on the box of Cornflakes as a little girl. She never wanted to be a raisin girl....a reference to being on a different box a cereal.

  • @BelovedRod I know raisin girls doesnt mean black girls. I never said it did. You're explanation is incorrect. She herself says she refers to herself as a raisin girl. For crying out loud just watch the explanation for the song. It's on youtube! Or read it online. Just stop assuming all these retarded theories for her songs. If you dont get it, dont fabricate shit. And Tori was 24 when she did that commercial, not a little girl. I mean, all this info is so easy to find...

  • She knows what's goin on.

  • This is not real, this is not really happening. You bet your life it isssssssssss

  • idiots really need to research before they make comments..this song has nothing to do with rape or incest..idiots

  • @adventurethis Even people with a passing familarity with Tori's work would know that the only song dealing directly with the rape was "Me And A Gun". Seems like confused is the state of mind many people love to live in.

  • Class. Top shelf music. Thankyou for posting.

  • Great song, the UK video suits the song better :/

  • When I saw her in concert I cried some man tears...:)

  • this songs reminds me of a close freind called amber and she loved cornflakes so this song means alot to me personaly

  • It's so clear she has a Scorpio Rising.

You either love or hate Scorpio rising people— they are rarely people who go through life unnoticed. In fact, some of them are confused when faced with the fact that they get such strong reactions from others. They seem to look right through people, seeing through superficiality. This can be quite intimidating to some, and intriguing to others.

  • I hope she found her keys.

  • If Anne of Green gables was alive the turn of this century, this is the kind of music she would have made! lol! She is obviously trainned as a classical musician, amazing piano skills!!!

  • @LOVE4MUSIC925 aaaa i absolutely adore anne of green gables

  • This video made my pants feel tight.

  • @sarcee1960 Sense this is a song about her being raped....I am dissapoint.

  • @starcatfri As far as I know, this song is not about her rape.

What would you be disappointed if this song were about that anyway?

  • @RoddRocker I was 'disapointed' Because he said "this video made my pants feel tight" I'm pretty sure by cornflake girl she means she was kinda flakey, unsure..Raisn girls as in she hung out with black girls like they suffered more. "Rabbit whered you put the keys girl" like she was trying to find a way to heal, in the video her girlfriends cooked up the man who raped her :3

  • @starcatfri Officially, Tori has said that she called the song "Cornflake Girl" for two reasons: Firstly, as a mocking allusion to the fact that shortly before Tori became famous, she did a T.V. advert for Kellog's "Just Right" cereal (which was a mixture including cornflakes and raisins). Secondly, that the lyrics deal with two types of girls-"raisin" girls (harder to find in a bowl of cereal)- open-minded, multi-cultural girls, and "cornflake" girls (easy to find)- prejudiced, rigid.

  • @DarkeningSkies1 That's nice but does it still make the other guy's comment appropriate?

  • @starcatfri Of course not. I was simply passing along information about the song I felt may be of interest to you. I have found that the quickest way to become frustrated and annoyed online is to pay too much serious attention to YouTube comments-generally they are bland and silly, rarely displaying any deeper thought or understanding; ignore most of them and your online experience will improve immensely.

  • @DarkeningSkies1 hahahahahaha. what a funny comment. did you try to think about what is the quickest way to becoming frustrated online? did you "find" it? or it just more so dropped in your lap/head? lol. man and women are such different creatures.

  • @residue102 Making people laugh (whether at me or with me) is never a bad thing; glad you found it amusing. I probably overstated it a bit- I find many people taking YouTube commentary too seriously, and since so much of it is dopey and witless, I was simply pointing out that one possible way not to get annoyed over it would be to ignore it completely. Really, it was from an observational standpoint as I don't get easily upset, and over a stranger's comment on a video, never.

  • @DarkeningSkies1 Bet u do.

  • @residue102 yeah i know. i just thought it was interesting the way it was worded and how you portrayed your feelings and ideas came across funny. just my perception.

  • She is trying to be the American farm girl version fo Kate Bush.

BTW, it says, she supports the Incest victims of ...what??! In farms...

  • A lot more MTV this version. Still, she looks good!

  • Where can I download this version (not UK) in mp3~?

  • My goodness is she hot...

  • Kate Bush where are you?

  • Comment removed

  • what is the alternate line she's singing with "and the man with the golden gun thinks he knows so much"?...i've never heard that before, what version is that?

  • I read this in a book on Tori --the underlying message is about female circumcision. Go figure; maybe the knife to the carrot and the girls bringing out their lipsticks. Watch again!

  • Comment removed

  • the story of my life and tori is a raisin girl. i wouldnt want to be a cornflake girl. never was, never will be!

  • Tori is the best

  • "audio has been altered" - WTF??? fuck youtube/warner/fuckdamned companies! FUCK THEM!

  • @morrisal Somehow the person who put this video on here put the music back onto it!

  • I'm sorry but what the fuck is she talking about in this song? There's a line between introspective and just plain random babble.

And Tori is a raisin girl people.

  • She's a cheap copy of Kate Bush.

  • @hardtechnoboy

NO...she's similar to Kate Bush but sexy in her own right...

  • This has got to be one of my most favorite songs by Tori. Beautiful powerful ballad about a highly emotive and barbaric subject.

  • the subject of my masturbatory fantasies of the early 90's

  • I do not get what is her point of the song , can someone explain please ??

  • @8Nadi8 I think that's the point.

From a couple of listens & in shore. I'd say it is about been not mundane but in the process loosing yourself.

  • @8Nadi8 The song is about never really fitting in with the popular girls. Its more about being a so called dirty girl and doing all the bad things that are so much fun You cant go off what the words literally mean, you have to feel it. took me twenty years to truly understand. I

  • less boring ...?

  • as an introduction for country music it is adequate though!!

  • she makes me wanna dye my hair red

  • Tory is a raisin girl, I want to be one!!

  • My favorite "plugged" song of her!

    What a moving beat!

Love her since decades, saw her live in the nineties.

What a girl, what a voice!

Look at her at 3:12 and further on; at 3:36 'til finish!

    The best scene from 3:30!!!

    She's living the music.

Thanks for the upload! Never saw this before.

  • @martinwettig: I'm from the U.S. and have moved to Australia. From California, sick to the teeth of hearing dumb comments like that. It might have one swear word removed. The U.S. is not THAT retarded... although I moved here to Australia because I didn't agree with the Bush government. Maybe Obama will fix things.

  • @pawsian negative!!! Stay in Oz!!! fab country!!!

  • what does "US Version" mean? no boobs, no cigarettes and at least one christian reference?

  • @martinwettig idiot

  • LIKE LIKE LIKE !!! :D Thanks for sharing @Reneeroman300 #Carrots Yum! :P

  • Can Anyone else believe she 48 now :-|

  • You can always be my cornflake girl, sweet and crazy lady

  • YAWN

  • Is that Studebacker?

  • tori is beautiful in this.....so is that guy in the cauldron thing though :)

  • And I go at sleepy time, this is not really happening u bet ur life it is...

  • Tori is deliciously bonkers...

  • wha t a powerful voise!WE LOVE YOU TORI AMOS HERE IN GREECE

  • Better Being unique than Just the same old Tacky Person

  • This song reminds me of Kate Bush.

  • @THRASHFKINFILLETS Well, you're right - back in the day, this was precisely THE song that made the English press make the comparison. It wasn't really fair because Kate was around before Tori and people assumed she was copying... based on the chorus of a single song. I love Kate more than any other female artist - but lately I've been apologising (on the inside) to Tori fans for ever having 'slagged her off' (Tori).

  • @THRASHFKINFILLETS I bet she loves Kate Bush! :)

  • Gingers are just so hot, for the neigh sayers heres some more to think about...

    Gillian Anderson

    Laura Prepon

    Christina Hendricks

    Angie Everheart

Kathy Ireland and of course our girl Tori here

    Redheads FTW >8D

  • @GeneralG1810 gillian is not a true redhead :)

  • @GeneralG1810 I agree, red heads are incredibly sexy ;)

  • every chick in this vid is super Hott! and no doubt, with luck" many have university degrees! >>go for the top my dear ladies! conquer all before you!!

  • She's an absolute prodigy, and unreal on the piano! I can't wait to gig one of her songs!

  • UK version is far better

  • @TalkToTheBody They always are. I am from the U.S., but I still agree with ya. The U.S. always has to make a thorough inspection and dull it down. Don't wanna offend anyone. BS.

  • @heatherdumas I just find the UK version more appealing. I saw Tori in Berlin a couple of nights ago, AMAZING. Totally different this time around with just Tori and her Boesendorfer and a string quartet. Go see her if you can.

  • @TalkToTheBody I find the UK version better too. You're so lucky you got to see her live! Not many people come around my area (Alabama, US). It's one of the states that gets the least amount of great artists to come around. We aren't a very popular or POPULATED state lol. I'm going to find her tour dates online, and if she's coming to Tennessee (which I'm close to), I will definitely be going!

  • @heatherdumas Awwww you must travel to see her then, as I said the gig was completely different to the last tour I went too (Abnormally Attracted to Sin) as she had with her the string quartet that is a band in its own right but she did perform Silent All These Years, A Cloud on my Tongue and Winter amongst a couple of other oldies. To be honest the string quartet was a joy to watch, four young guys. I hope Alabama gets some artists coming your way

  • @TalkToTheBody Wow, a string quartet sounds amazing! I will have to look up her tour. See if it's anywhere close. Hopefully in Tennessee (where we get a lot more acts). And I hope more come to Alabama too :)

  • Heard this song since I was 2. Still don't understand it. anyone know what this song is about?i'm only 13.

  • i'm more of a mini wheates person

  • Thats pretty messed up.These kinds of things can happen here

in the US if we're not careful.I'm already seeing signs that

something is getting ready to go down.

  • Beautiful song from the best album (ever).

  • Ah the "dumbed down as the original was too sophisticated for the US audience to understand" version!

  • @MrZoolook Yeah, the one Tori co-directed herself.

  • @MrZoolook Yeah, the US version, that Tori herself co-directed.

  • Weird, in Canada we had the U.K. version.

  • the song is about men culturally & physically abusing women, the video is about women seizing their freedom and toying with men - ?

  • Comment removed

  • @SupernalOne A quote from Tori herself reads: "Cornflake is, I’ve been reading Possessing the Secret of Joy by Alice Walker. It went in depth of just women betraying women, and how the mothers really sold their daughters to the butchers, and had their genitalia removed"

  • @MrZoolook

Yes, Ethiopian female "ciircumcison" and mothers who buy into it - the whole point being to remove from women the ability to feel pleasure in sex, so they won;'t have any reason to be unfaithful to their husband-owners - the threat of violence is the motivation of course, better to make a virtue of necessity than to be beaten, shunned, murdered - I was just not sure how the video reflected the meaning of the song, if it does - but viva Tori, in any case

  • Money shot @ 0:53

  • Prefer this version over the original video.

  • i think i like dragon more i have not decided yet

  • She's GREAT!!!

  • how does this only have some 30,000 views? Seriously...?

  • First time listening to this... Fucking amazing.

  • @sassuhfrass93

You bet your life it is!

    .....I know, I know.... Lame.

  • Her lick during the first "Just peel out the watchword" is the sexiest thing I've ever seen

  • @JohnBaxterly FUCK YES!!! I'm bi and I would totally make the sweetest love to her under the Moon and then sing into Her eyes. I love her and I would turn COMPLETLY Lesbian for just a kiss by Her. I don't care what she looks like she's beautiful inside and out :)

  • Her lick during the first "Just peel out the watchword" is the sexiest thing I've ever seen

  • All our base are belong to Tori!

  • I am a teenage girl and i freely admit tori is totally a celeberty crush of mine :)

  • @shadowgirl350 Mine Too!! I love her no matter what she looks like. I'm a teen girl and she's a 48 year old woman who I'm not crushing on, but COMPLETLY In love with lol

Nice meeting someone who feels the same :)

  • i prefer the uk version

  • Why is she so extra hot when she looks in the rearview mirror?
