I don’t know how environment-friendly the materials his clothes were made of, but in the “Bud the Snob” ep. of classic sitcom “Father Knows Best”(aired 1/16/55), James 'Bud' Anderson Jr. (Billy Gray) jaunts down the stairs in dark slacks with an accessory (tie or suspenders) hanging low down his bare chest. When the line: “Here comes the Milton Berle of Springfield now” is directed at Bud, I was immediately reminded of the link between environmentalist activist actor Ed Begley Jr. and Berle
