After living overseas Paisley presents itself as a very dull place with peoples ideas very insular and not taking into account the vast world that can be savoured out there. What is this the "knock paisley society?" I live in paisley and have for 32 years! I am also raising a child here! I love my town and the people in it! As you probably know I live down under, but the Scots from Paisley here run it down in a big way............violence, lack of scope, stabbings, sectarian stuff, how can i live there, please tell me. And there are a lot of people with no money begging on the street.

I am a Paisley buddy but have lived overseas for over 40 years. Apart from the Ice Rink and soccerf I don't see that Paisley has much to offer. I see there is no future there for many people because the people are cynical and if you try to better yourself they laugh at you. When Paisley people realise that they are quite banal then they might get somewhere. Its one of those places where the people have given up trying new things, they just live in the same old bloody place and do the same things

Paisley is the worst place I have ever lived in. What has it got to offer? Soiccer? No culture whatsoever, its a boring hole with a lot of rotten weather. I lived there as a boy and hated it, it was horrible.

I wonder if anyone has heard of Alexander Mc Guinness who used to live in the Sandy Road Renfrew area. He had a brother called Bobby who was intellectually handicapped. He would be about 62 now if he was still alive.

I know every inch of Paisley literally. In the 40s the Germans dropped some incendiaries on the fields near Arkleston Road. Some marsh birds went to live thereafter as it turned the ground into a chemical bog. And people used to twll their sons to keep out of there and would not tell them why. I found out from the historic archives.

I lived in Paisley and Renfrew area 45 years ago and glad to get out of it with all the sectarian bigotry. Also the schoolteachers were a pack of useless bastards whom I found out later were quite uneducated. Also the Paisley people sound horrible when they speak, it sucks to be there listening to that voice.
