@matandote, don't tell people what you learned in freshman art class because it means nothing. I use my finger to blend graphite, not all the time, just when i want a textured blend. If you don't think i know what i am talking about, click on my name and see my work. I know how to use a pencil and paper to make a face.
@sergiosis, you definitely need more practice, which i am hopeful you have gotten in the past 2 years since this was posted, love the braveheart music by the way
you can always call out uneducated art. i see you blending graphite for one (that's a no-no) and you're blending with your finger!!!! what i learned freshman yr of high school art class, don't use your finger the oils from your hands gets on the paper and makes it extremely difficult to erase. if you want to blend pick up some charcoal you do not blend graphite

And it doesn't matter to me if its like a pro or not. it is nevertheless important that the drawing at the end is beautiful, no matter how you did. Nobody sees it when he looks at your drawing. sorry if i came off rude. but you can see your method of drawing in the final product you can always see strokes, which direction they went and from they started. and when it comes to blending it masks your method giving a clumsy unplanned feel about. with proper shading methods you can get really smooth shading while keeping the value and integrity of the paper and graphite
you've got a lot of potential. i think you did and especially good job with the shading of the facial skin. that's always a tough spot for me, but i think you could use some work on shading the actual eyeball and drawing the lashes and eyebrows. you could also work on the placement of the eyes themselves and other features. definitely better than my first realistically drawn eyes. just a friendly critique from a fellow artist. keep at it!! ^^
