  • anyone see Another Earth? The Pagoda has a small role in that movie, but unfortunately he didn't provide comic relief...

  • cant believe its almost 11 years ago

  • Hahahhahaha!! XD I loved when Gene Hackman said the line "I want my family back." that's Harrison Ford's. XD

  • so cute omg the boys were so adoreable

  • Wes Anderson's the man.

  • So many things going on in that movie... I love it, because of the way how wes anderson makes his movies that are not plot cliches.

  • This movie did not make any sense. super weird.

  • Hi everyone! One of my friends, a top graduate of USC film school wrote and directed this short film called THE BROKEN HEART OF GNOCCHI BOLOGNESE. It's a whimsical, fun comedy with a similar sensibility to ROYAL TENENBAUMS. The trailer is listed under my favorites on my YouTube page or you can find it by searching for the title. The entire film is available on the iPad app Play Festival Films. The link for the iPad app is listed in the description of the trailer. Thanks!

  • i love this movie,so deep, so simple, so heartfelt, wonderful......

  • i fucking passionately love this film. is that weird? i just want to watch it all the time. i want to hug wes anderson for creating it.

  • @allysaysfawq agreed.

  • Great music :) me and Julio down by the schoolyard: Paul Simon

  • Great cast in an offbeat film.

  • I remember first seeing this in the theaters when I was in 8th grade. Seen Ben Stiller in it and expected a regular ol comedy but ended up getting a lot more than what I expected. Having seen all other films after this, Wes Anderson is now one of my favorite director/writers.

  • We got Arrec Baldwin!!

  • @deval1988 i agree this movie was utter trash

  • @14lucariofan lol, what did you not like about it?

  • Best Ben Stiller act ever, hands down

  • Just realised something: If Angelica Huston were really Ben Stiller's mom and Gene Hackman his dad, Angelica would've been 14 when she had him, and Gene would have been 36.

    Creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy...

  • At 1:14, when Ben Stiller did that hand gesture while flipping through the book and said "A month... A year?", it almost seemed as though he was doing a nod to the french film "Breathless", where the main character does the same hand gesture and asks the same question. I could be wrong, though. I'm probably just a fan of both movies

  • wes anderson is the freaking best. every single movie he's done is a masterpiece.

  • One of my favorites. Look at this cast! love them!

  • Thanks!

I haven't seen the movie for years.

  • great movie!!!!

  • The name should be pronounced Tenen-bomm, not Tene-baowm.

  • I gotta say that this is one of the best movies I ever saw. I could literally watch it over and over and still not get bored of it. Genius.

  • @Nevi234 dont be lame

  • Flippen sweet Futura!

  • @Hayashigame I feel the kern wasn't tight enough.

  • @IlHikariIl Really? If anything, I'd have liked it to be less tight.

  • "I want my family back!"

    Hey, that's Harrison Ford's line.

  • i just couldn't imagine that the narrator was alec baldwin...this movie (with little miss sunshine) is perfectly ''weird''...so thumbs up to all the dysfunctional families out there!!!

  • This movie was enjoyable and the acting was impressive but it wasn't THAT good, at least not in my opinion

  • I rented this movie to watch it for the first time with my girlfriend. We watched it three times in a row...so I married her

  • Gene Hackman deserved an Oscar nomination for this move. His performance was GOLDEN!

  • "My god, haha! I haven't been in here for years--"

"HEY! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!"

    "YES! I AM!"

  • One of the best comedy dramas ever made.

  • The Best Movie Ever Made.

Along with Little Miss Sunshine though

The Needle in the hay seen is soo sad

  • @Alannbitchh and I've got the double DVD . I watcehd it 22 times and I still can't get enough

  • This move just cant be properly trailered. Its too good.

  • damned if this isn't the best movie I've ever seen

  • omg i had NOOOO idea that balwin narrated this movie...its one of my favorites!!!

  • Ramones fucking rules

  • Great cast, well acted and intriguing, but some content remains puzzling and so far out there, unlike the masterpiece Rushmore.

  • fucking loved this movie

  • recently watched an interview with Wes Anderson saying how he really had to hound Hackman to get him to play Royal. Thank God he caved!

  • i was born a tenenbaums in a simpsons family :))

  • I love how Royal, for the first and last time in his life, detaches himself from everything that's usually cherished in this world, and finds his true self - a free human.

    So much kudos, Gene Hackman.

  • omg i wanna watch this!

  • By far one of the best movies ever made to date.

  • I love all of Wes Anderson's films, I have no freaking idea why but at the end they always leave you with a bit of sadness.

  • sometimes I feel like a Tenenbaum.

  • I'm looking for a game where mafia families play against each other. the only name I remember is "Royal Tenenbaums" - Does anyone know the name of the game?

  • Anyone know the name of the first song?

  • @jobobfields its "me and julio down by the school yard"

  • Irado !!

  • Toaster Pig, concise accurate analysis. Nice one! Thanks to the poster!

  • this films is easily somewhere in the top 20 films of the decade.

Eli just crashed his car in front of the house

    Oh my god

    where's my shoe?

  • I keep telling myself I don't have "favorites", but THIS is my favorite movie.

  • @FormallyCrippled yeah mine too =)

  • This movie was smart, different and compelling....I loved it...and many ways, it was my childhood --seriously, many similarities....

  • Great movie and great soundtrack.

  • "Who stabbed you?" ....

    "He did." -LOVE IT!!!!

  • Its Huston not Hudson.

  • i i love ths movie so many good actors you can miss!

  • Alec Baldwin's narration feels ridiculously poetic. Amazing!

One of the best movies I've ever seen.

  • watched this movie 4 the first time when i was 9.....

safe to say i didnt understand it, but i did manage to find it years later and i seem to grasp some of the undertones a little bit easier.

  • GREAT movie!

  • u mean u fail? at undertstanding awesome?

  • great answer!

  • have you seen it?

  • I always feel self conscious admitting out loud I love these films ,ppl just dont get it in this part of the world

  • good movie

  • it wasn't really rated "r" was it? i can't remember it should at least been pg or something

  • drugs f-bombs and "sibling" romance probably constitutes an R rating

  • and suicide, don't forget suicide

  • 2 things. First of all, the "siblings" aren't related. It's actually not illegal either.

Second of all, drugs in a movie getcha a PG-13...kiddos can deal with the drugs but not the F-bomb. You can use it once and any more is an "R"

So F-bombs are worse than drugs.

  • @shadowhamster pg-13 is allowed one f-bomb. BUT it cant be used as an adjective or something.

  • so besides my family does anyone else is disfunctual?they made this movie base from me?haha

  • yeah its funny how the tenenbaums are so similar to my family as well...

  • I think the Tenenbaum family was written specifically to reflect that innocent, childlike, ideal way you view your own family growing up. And like all of us the Tenenbaums had to deal with growing up and losing that innocence.

  • hu stabbed u?

    -he did (lol!)

i think that really helps sum up the film, after all that scene has the irony the film has in it alot, humour, weird/surreal expreinces...

tho i guess it misses out the sadness thaty the film has in parts...

    still an epic film!

  • favorite, definitely!

  • "How interesting, how bizarre". Love this movie, everything fits perfectly.

  • One of my favorite movies..although the trailer kinda sucks..its very hard to transmit the real essence of the movie..

  • really a fucking cool movie guys

  • i love this movie

  • One of my favourite film. Surreal!

  • my favourite film!!! is the best!!!

  • this movie is hilarious

  • oh without a doubt... This is one of my favorite movies

    Definitely my favorite Wes Anderson

  • Favourite movie ever, I think.
