@76msjackie This song (it has several verses) is about a young hunter who meets a beautiful young woman with blond hair, while he is walking in the green woods. He falls in love with her and tries to convince her to marry him, and she eventually agrees. German hunting songs are often songs about love and joy in nature, and really have nothing to do with hunting.

The man playing the spinetto/cembalo(?) is the family priest and also their musical leader. They used to pray and read the bible together as a family. He came to the USA together with the family.
