They should conduct extensive psychological testing on every seminarian before entering the priesthood and every few years after that. I honestly don't mind Muslims, as I mentioned above I work with Muslims and have Muslim friends, however they even agree that nearly every Muslim country either has Sharia law, or oppresses women, gays etc. Frankly I think it's barbaric, narrow minded and primitive. All priests convicted with creditable evidence in cases of child molestation should be executed. To hell with atonement, they have no chance of getting into heaven if God truly cares for the innocents of children. So when a pedophile priest gets murdered in prison, I say "Vigilante Justice" and support such actions. 5/5 of the priests in the church down the road from me turned out to be pedos that the church had moved there 2 decades ago when they got found out in their old parishes. There is often a larger concentration of paedophilia and abuse in any religion than in the general populace but the amount in the catholic church is insane. All because the church itself defends the priests so they are pretty much free to do what they want. It's more than just a FEW bad apples.

I was raised as a Catholic, yet I always somehow disliked religion at school, and the priest must have hated me for always engaging in polemics with him.
I've never been an exemplary Catholic, but the recent scandals have pushed me further away from the church than I thought I'd ever be - irreversibly.
