  • This kid obviously get so much pussy from playing this sweet sweet guitar at the age of 9

  • amazing...im just starting classical guitar and my teacher ave me this song to give a whack at....this is inspiring me to not stop playing..keep being awesome!

  • what an amazing gift from God.....

  • Dude, keep playing, and you'll get rich as shit.

  • Great playing Kevin! I have only just started out on the road to learning this piece.

1:15 shows the early signs of a future flamboyant stage persona.

  • Keep. Playing.

  • he should bring his talents to a grand stage, coming from a kid just like him except a little older than he is

  • this is better than you think. im 15 and barely play it better than him

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORK! This kid has got it down, and for a nine 9 old, this is seriously impressive. As being a classical guitarist for 15 years, I'm not going to pick on any MINISCULE technical problems that may be present because i'm not a **** (fit any 4-letter word profanity there). hope you're keeping it up Kevin!

  • Absolutely.. I want him to going on in what I always wanted that is playing guitar. Congratulation to his parents for the great support that they are giving to him and I hope to see him one day as the greatest classic guitarist. Thanks..Keep going, no matter what.

  • great, nice, wonderful etc=)

  • Optichero...You must be Marcus...You've done a good job mate!

  • Thirteen people's (they were watching this video) computers got a mysterious virus that caused them to dislike the Youtube video they were watching at that moment.

  • wow....16 and all i do is average guitar with chords and minor tab stuff.......i'm way behind. hahahaha

  • Nice job kid! Sounds great :)

Lol he HAD to be Asian to be able to do this

  • this should NOT be possible. But I'm glad it is. You're awesome kid

  • Kevin, good playing! Nice to hear you play Sunburst so well.

    Andrew York

  • If i were asian i could do that too!!!

  • he's alright, needs to work on fret buzz.

  • @xXConfuocoXx

hes nine dumbass. his fingers will get stronger :D

  • @darkais776 implying finger strength is the problem.

With practice he will mature, i understand he's nine i was only pointing out the little fucker has some issues he needs to work on. We all have issues we should work on no matter how old we are. i never said he was bad, for his age or otherwise.

  • A beautiful soul, humble, a joy to watch.

  • Very nice. With kids this young, it's not what's wrong it's what's right.

  • I play this piece now, and i'm 12, but i still gotta work because I have only been playing this for a really short time

  • Just think about what this kid will be doing in the later years of his life!

  • amazing

  • I've just finished learning this piece, and can play it to a reasonable standard now, but I'm double this kids age! When I was 9, I was still learning how to string two notes together properly! If he can keep up his passion for guitar, he has a great future ahead. :)

  • Well done Kevin!! you have a promising future if you keep on with the good work!

  • what a handsome young man! great job my boy; you're doing well...enjoy your life everyday...look at those big beautiful hands...yep, God gave him a gift!

  • Whats wrong with the 12 people who disliked this video?

  • I would consider myself a bad parent if I didn't push my kid to better himself... Especially if he were this talented!!! Keep it up Kevin!!

  • nice...

  • keep it up, mad talent

  • nicely done !

  • KEVIN! KEVIN! KEVIN! KEVIN! =)

  • If I had students who were this good at a young age I would be thrilled. Way to go young man (and the instructor too) keep it up, but don't forget to live a balanced life.

  • Well all disagreements aside; the truth will show when he's still playing in his midlife and then he will know if he really loves this instrument or not. It's easy for kids to get good at anything as they have the time and energy. To me I see his eys drifting all over showing that he's not focusing on what he is playing and this perhaps may give some to believe he is forced by his parents to play, not because he wants to do it.

  • Kevin -- GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @wassim95100 Don't assume what you don't know. You know what they say about assuming, it makes an ass out of u and me.

  • chino maraco

  • Good job Kevin! This is obviously three years ago. Let's see if there are any newer vidoes here......

  • god damnit who could hate this vid? 10 thumbs down? why? : /

  • What a nice Christian boy.

  • @MusicForJesusStation Way to assume things you stereotypist piece of conservative shit.

  • The legato part is the only thing that didn't sound close to perfection.... Good job, man!

  • one of my favourite songs by andrew york.

  • You dont play with this virtuosity unless theres some serious passion. It cant be forced. I have a couple of seriously obese nephews that could use some of Kevins fortitude. A wonderful gift indeed.

  • what's worse for a child.... being amazing at guitar or watching TV

  • @hhoh12 good point

  • nice job my little brother,i wish i could play that....even a little bit,tks for posting your videos.

  • how silly :-) Do you think he"s in some sort of guitar prison? LOL I'd bet he loves telling his friends to check him out on YouTube. Kids need some structure. I think it"s better for 6 hrs of guitar than 6 hrs of television. BUT what do I know? no kids not my business :-)

  • 5 estrellas por el esfuerzo!!! Te envidio! Ojala hubiera empezado tan joven!!!

    Saludos sigue asi!

  • Unbelievable. Another child prodigy. Listen to those voicings.

  • i dont mind being able to play this piece like he does

  • okay i understand your point but this kid looks like he loves the guitar, he obviously has a passion, its what he loves so obviously he will work hard at it. whats so bad about working hard at something you love?

  • Wow, simply amazing!

  • Damn, this kid kicks ass! I had absolutely no talents when I was 9 years old. I was only good at making spit wads. This kid has a bright musical future ahead of him. I hope he does live performances.

  • I love Andrew York's pieces and admired, up to nowadays, a Chinese girl, Li Jie, in this composition, but it is a miracle to see that you are so young and can play it so well !

  • God bless you little man !!! God Exist!!!!!!

  • lol theres a prodigy and we say god did it? give the boy some credit

  • Great Job! Keep on practicing. I can tell you like it .

You will be a very good player if you will decide to.

  • damn!!

  • whats holding the guitar?

or is he just sitting down wearing black pants

either that or one of the best photoshoops i have ever seen

  • probably you've never heard about the "gitano"?

it's a support wich holds the guitar above the leg..and it's metal black..

  • amazing !

    very musical !

    cheers

  • well you got the playing down. thats for sure. now, in the years to come get a feel for your own style and write your own music. separate yourself from the thousands of other asian copy machine. rock on young Loh, rock on.

  • Jejejeje........... it`s true!!!! jajajaja Asian Copy MAchine ....GODDDDDDDD jajajaja

  • dont be racist

  • Our culture in in decadence.........Machines, MAchines, who play fast is better, The most agressive is the one who decide for the others, Do you understand??? It is not racism....I am a multirracial and multicultural man.......And our heart and mind is in decadence....

  • good good... can feel that u like ur own music... continue and i believe u will be a great guitarist!

  • Kevin, youre doin real great. Keep on rocking ok?

    Congratulations man!

  • This is really nice but the reason he's not getting all the views he deserves is because he's not appealing to the popular choice in music to attract a bigger crowd. Sure he shouldn't bend to conformity, but I hate seeing such talent at the backdoor of people who are utterly terrible with an instrument but are racking up all these views because they play popular songs.

  • Awesome little man! You are, and will continue to become great! Never settle for 'good enough'! Always push yourself further than where you are, do this your entire life. Your talent will have no limit. Hope to hear more of your work soon!

  • AHHH you play this better than I do :)

Amazing talent you have kid. Keep it up!

  • you are so talented. congratulations

  • spam

  • yo..hes good....make it as fast as li jie in 3 years,, and you'll be the 2nd li jie..how cool would that be..the vid should be in the related videos.

  • What a cute little boy. Please update us as he masters these pieces! Bravo!

  • This kid's got great ability in his hands already. I can only imagine how good he's going to be when he gets older.

  • Bravo! Bravo! Kevin...most excellent!

  • Hey great playing. Nice fingering too, keep up the good work!

  • Wow...this is just awesome...u are a natural...do not let the praise get to you and go the way a lot of prodigies went...be humble and respectful to the music and the instrument and the music will flow. All the best Kevin :-)

  • ahhh man, This is awesome.

Also a kick in the balls for an 18 year old who hasn't even finished learning the piece yet... :(

His technique is really good aswell and I'm sure will be perfected to utmost tightness when he gets older...

    Huff...

  • joe nice work!!! natural talent... amazing

  • Beautiful musical performance. Hope to see more posts from this young man.

  • Fantastic - well done

  • I wish I started guitar when I was your age.

  • to 'blueguitarist':

dude, that's just terrible. needless to say, very inappropriate and offensive.

(kinda sad that I'm telling a 40 yr. old this. tsk tsk)

    anyway.....

    ...

    to Kevin:

I am impressed and humbled all at once! keep up the fantastic skills and keep practicing :)

  • Amazing...go forth and make music..

    (Bravo !)

  • holy helll

    that was f-in awesome!!!

  • Effin A.

  • he plays this piece better than some university guitarists i know

  • Fat little fingers :P

    Good work boy!

  • itd be better if you wernt human-being

  • wonder when he's going to be shreding...

  • rofl

  • shredding sucks compared to this

  • depends, i like modern more compared to classical tho

  • bluflame.... this is modern..

  • hmmm check out his tags

  • do you know who andrew york is?....

  • who knows, i was just passing by this vid o_____O but ye. the tags def say classical so that gave me the idea of it being classical

  • andrew york is modern classical guitar composer...

used to be in la guitar quartet

his style is more new age and modern

if you actually heard classical guitar before you wouldnt call this classical...

  • it's still classical music though...

  • actually, just because its on classical guitar doesnt make it classical.

classical is bach, and so forth.

basically Baroque to Romantic Period is classical.

    anything after that is modern.

    1900+

  • ok then "modern classical"...impressionism if you will (the title sunburst puts a mental image in your head)

  • thats not umpressionism

pieces 1900+ are classic to because you us the classicel techinque

  • Not really, it's "Classical Guitar music" but it's not classical music. A lot of people refer to classical music as anything from renaissance to romantic, and some people even refer to a lot of contemporary composers as classical music. But really there are all different eras with different styles. This is written for classical guitar yes, but it's contemporary/modern music. But none the less, great job Kevin, keep it up.

  • The classical period is accepted to have taken place 1750 and 1820 by music historians. Baroque music is a separate period, from 1600 to 1750, and the romantic period is generally accepted to have taken place between 1820 and 1910. 20th century and contemporary music has gone through a large number of eras. All of this can be grouped under the heading "classical music".

  • It`s true pal!

  • Absolutly brilliant!!!

  • When i was a foetus i could play Flight of the Bumblebee.

Only joking, just used to bitter posts on here. I'm 22 and can play some bits at 3/4 speed. Go on on my son!

  • prodigy

  • Excellent work, Kevin!

  • Great job, Kevin. This piece is NOT easy. I'm impressed that you can hit some of your really difficult fingerings. Keep working on it.... soon you'll be able to play it like you're slicing cake.

  • Great job Kevin! Whens the C.D release party?

  • wow, he plays so clean, it is ridiculous.

  • WORDS WON'T WORTH....just AMAZING!!!

  • very hard piece! I've been trying to play it properly for years and never actually got to do it right in one go...

takes patience and good sound (and a good guitar as well) to make it right...

he's young but he plays it very well!!!

    congratulations

  • the real question is whether or not he decided to take guitar or whether his parents got him started

either way i respect his skills, he's insane

  • Freakin' sweet.

  • yeah, and it makes me proud, that I can play it better then him, though I'm 2.5 times older:)

very nice job, i wish i had been at your level in the age of 9, amazing.

  • This just great playing (his age just adds to how impressive it is.) I hope that this video never receives a mean spirited comment. How proud the parents must be!!!!

  • Congratulations boy this is a very dificult song. and you are only 9 years old. keep up the hard work and you will be one of the best!!

  • amazing work at such a young age! But you should probably do easier pieces first

  • A fine young lad, going to grow up to be a top notch citizen of the world.

  • bravooooo melaaaaaaaaaa mis respetos brother

  • good job kevin! that's a pretty awesome piece!

i know it's hard to keep a slow tempo but, you're doing it!...keep it slow until it sounds clean, then use a metronome to speed up. once you get it clean a few times, go a few clicks faster...you'll get it! :)

  • beautiful!unbeLIEVEABLE 9 YEARS

  • Never put down the guitar, it was made for you ^_^

  • Excellent.

  • Amazing playing!!!!!!

  • That sucks. Look at me. 17 years old and having trouble finger-picking... urrrrggg! (it's my guitar's one year anniversary so I think I have an excuse). Sounds quite good though. i'm envious.

  • Very good!

  • Kevin, you have a beautiful, crisp and clear tone that goes well with this piece. Your left hand looks very relaxed, which guitarists with twice your experience would envy. You have a very bright future with the instrument. Do you plan to play professionally?
