  • Nice sax solo!

  • Joe Jackson covered this song. He did a great homage to Louis Jordan & friends. No denying that this was the original and absolutely wonderful, however.

  • It's amazing how much he had an effect on BB KIng.

  • This is awesome. Louis Jordan was really incredible.

  • Wow! I am used to the studio version and yet this rocks hard equally. Many thanks!!!!

  • Jordan started in swing, then created his own style called jump and jive, which is what he's playing in this song. You can hear elements of rock and roll, which was not to explode for another 10 years. Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, James Brown, Little Richard and many other legends all copped a lot of their sound from Jordan. He is remembered as the Father of Rock and Roll (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame).

  • Yes, they did rock...BIG time!!!

  • these guys rock, great video

  • God i love this song. It's got just such a good feel to it

  • My Dad taught me and my three sisters this song when we were kids. Some of the words were a little different ,but the basic song was the same. He died 15 years ago at the age of 72. I have never forgotten this song and sang it for my teen age daughter...she just laughed and then asked me to sing it again!

  • @mannyzload

Your Dad sure had good taset in music. You know, Mr. Jordan is credied by some music authorities to be the father of Rock N Roll. Whether you believe that or not, he was a most extraordinary musician. You will never forget that song...It heartens me to know that you have passed it on to your daughter.

It's people like you, that make the internet fun. Thank you very much for your post.

  • @mannyzload Thats what tradition is about and passing things down. Let the circle be unbroken.

  • This is a tune I want to perform as well. I'll won't get to it for awhile yet. I guess in my head I hear a I VI II V basic progression but I haven't attempted it yet. Drop me line now and then and share your experience with it. Not necessarily what the chords are...but any snags you come upon. Do you plan to learn this for your own pleasure or perform it with a band??

  • Thanks - I'm trying to figure out a guitar version of this, been listening to the CD but great to see them play it. Rock and Roll!
