Most of the data comparing SLIT with allergy shots has been done in Europe. At the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) annual meeting held in San Diego in October, 2009, recent data from clinical studies done in the USA showed that SLIT and allergy injections work equally well. What is exciting is that children who did SLIT for several years had a 3.6 times lower risk of developing asthma at a later stage in their life.

jddudley32, you shouldn't trust any academy or pharmaceutical company these days, since the medicine market has become a serious way of earning lots of money.... They'll do everything to make you think their medicine really works, although it doesn't always. Allergy drops are one of them. I've been an internist for the past 4 years now, and I've not seen any significant results whatsoever (and, as my older collegue said, not even on long term)....
Dont Get SCIT y develop a autoimmune disease during the curse of the immunotherapy. They can be a trigger of autoimmune disease.
