  • first off im really thinking we could never live here due to it has no sun or moon so we would be fucked correct? i mean it has our sun but technically its not going to work like it does for urf... i mean earth

  • Look at those lush jungles.

  • 0:05 Megusta.jpg

  • it looks musch like earth but this are false colors

  • How long before google does a street view version?

  • Well, I'm not gonna accept that we landed a probe their until they give us pictures of Huygens on the surface. It's all a conspiracy!!! Know the truth!!!11!!1 I'm a douchebag!!!

    A Douchebag!!!

  • watch?v=eGljvXtwmpg

  • as long as we stay away from Europa we should be okay.

  • @ciararavenblaze lol I want europa too-maybe if the monolith looks the other way for a sec...

  • @pookabun quick--I'll distract it and you go to Europa!

  • Neat - but by elevated areas do we mean actual hills and mountains and plateaux or what? Bit of a jigsaw puzzle look too - but still excellent & appreciated. :-)

(Wonders how it compares with the geography described in Baxter's 'Titan' novel.)

  • Call me when they find some face or pyramid or such that we can enjoy Apophenia over.

  • there could be aliens living there!

  • A fantastic video. Keep up the good work.

  • Was this animation made in Celestia?

  • Wonder how many alien cities Hoagland see therein, lol!

  • I saw a face! THE TITONIANS CIVILIZATION HAS BEEN REVEALED!

    *wipes monitor*

Oh, sorry, it was just a bit of dust. Carry on!

  • holy crap that's a lot of potential life!

is the map 2d or is there any altitude info?

  • the hydrocarbon dunes kind of look like a stretched out europe.

  • @wakeangel2001 "the hydrocarbon dunes kind of look like a stretched out europe."

Although very unlikely?, it would be interesting to find some kind of synchronicity between continental formations a system.. Perhaps if un disturbed otherwise for a long enough periods, continental features might begin complimenting each other across a system. a moon might be a good candidate for this too.

sci fi like speculation, but seems interesting nonetheless.

  • This is where Dead Space 2 takes place.

    =D

  • Are we gonna have Google Titan?

  • @CreativeVisionary92 i hope so

  • Can I ask (as I get a little confused) is it Titan or Triton that is considered the most Earth like moon in the solar system (and if it is Titan, do these images put Titan in the lead for colonisation)?

  • @HarryHayfield

    I think it's Titan that's most earth-like, but it's a stretch.

I'd not want to live somewhere where liquid water was the equivalent of lava.

  • @HarryHayfield

No matter the favourable conditions I would think Titan is still way too far away from Earth to be viable.

  • @HarryHayfield No moon in the solar system can really be considered earth-like. Triton is a moon that orbits Neptune and is one of the coldest moons in the solar system. Titan is the only moon in the solar system to have a thick atmosphere and is the second largest moon. This and its lakes of methane make it a good candidate for outer solar system colonization. It would make a good outpost for harvesting helium 3 (fuel for fusion) from Saturn's atmosphere. This won't happen anytime soon though.

  • this is awesome!

  • So, bringing Oxygen to the surface would be inadvisable...:)

  • Earth 2! :D When can we invade it for it's resources and pollute it at the same time?

  • @Clavera luckily, with an atmophere of nitrogen and oceans of methane, it kind of polluted itself! So less work for us!

  • @Clavera

I think it's already 1000 times more polluted than the Earth... I'm pretty sure Titan's atmosphere is made primarily out of methane or something, lol.

  • @Clavera jeeze cant u wait until we completely fuck up earth first...

  • Wonder what that black bit is on the top

  • @adamski895RS

I assume there are simple no image data available (could be if the probe is in an orbit that does not go over the poles).

  • @superdau Yeah I thought that after I posted the comment.

  • @adamski895RS

    it's the "Blagole"! :P

it's probably just undocumented surface or sth.

  • AVATARS! haha :) This is interesting

  • Cool beans
