I dont hate James I think hes a nice chap, there are decent people from all backgrounds but take the RAF as an example how many working class fighter pilots do they have? are we working class not up to the task? lets face it if Fergie and Prince charles can get a Pilots License how hard can it be!

you do relise that to be a pilot in the raf you have to do mutiple caculations at once while flying at speeds over 500 miles an hour only the best can do it

so the piot only has to stear the plane that makes total sense if you rely on computers then if it the plane has a eletrical malfunction then you would be fucked and then die

Pilots will not be needed already they use drones, they will be piloted by computer savy kids by remote control, no lives in danger, electrical malfunctions already happen thats why we have aircrashes and theirs nothing the pilot can do except, land asap, bail out or kis his arse goodbye,

lots of crashes are caused by Pilot error anyway.

Private pilots licenses are just about paying for lessons, its nothing to do with being a fighter pilot. To be a fighter pilot you have to be good at maths/physics, be fit, cold and clinical, pretty bright in general. There is so much competition you have to demonstrate you have been interested in the career since you were small by getting a PPL or gliding etc unfortunatley its usually the middel/upper middle class parents who typically push kids and have the money

@ispiffey Implying I haven't already them and drawn my own conclusions about Objectivism. Rand's world was one where everyone should be a genius who is a pioneering captain of industry and if not you're simply a worthless thrall to 'the people' or 'the state'.

Bioshock might be a video game but it's a fairly accrate description of how Objectivism, like Communism, is doomed to failure.
