  • I don't think the vocals are autotuned. The vocals during the bridge are just slightly off key, so i think they would have done those too. It's not that hard to hit that high note and i've seen plenty of live videos of him hitting it just fine. He's got plenty of practice hitting it.

  • it's raining.

  • IT'S RAINING IT'S RAINING IT'S RAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIII-A-AI-A-III-AIIII. *scream scream scream*

    That, my friends, is legendary.

  • i like rain

  • BTBAM progressively making metal better since inception

  • @devo5522 not the movie

  • lol @ the dillinger shirt

  • Anyone notice how at 6:29 he's hitting the same F sharp as James Labrie in Learning to Live?

  • @WillVol That's James LaBrie's highest note I think. But I think Tommy just kinda falsettos it.

  • @WillVol this performance was specifically for the dvd. everything was recorded into its own channel and was mixed separately. including the vocals. that f-sharp is auto-tune. i love between the buried and me. but i just thought i'd inform you.

  • @yeaimahaterscrewoff they autotuned the fsharp?

  • All of the vocals on all the DVD performances are auto-tuned. Not just for BTBAM, but for pretty much any performing artist currently involved in the music industry.

  • 9 dislikes??? i see 9 people need therapy and should probably suck the nearest dick they can find. Why do people hate talent? Everytime i hear rap or this pop bullshit thats so famous these days i wanna throw the fuck up, and justin beiber, you go to hell, right to hell

  • lo sigo mirando a 480p... creo que me hago mas virgen [aún] con el tiempo xD

  • I never knew the raining part was in 21/8

  • @jonnydrums413

Technically, within the four measures, it's in 5/8 for the first three measures then it goes to 6/8 on the last measure. Then again 5/8 times three is 15/8 and if you add the 6/8 it equals 21/8 so technically they're the same, but why get all confused in the technicalities?

  • its raining its raining its raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Rogers looks like a smaller version of Jason Statham. :O

  • @Bookster343 my comment was also a Mitch Hedberg reference. And the part where Dan is shaking his head like nopenopenope.

  • I love the big breath at 0:38

  • I WATCHED THIS IN HQ, AND NO SEX WAS RECIEVED.

    I DEMAND A REFUND.

  • i need to see them live. now.

  • Holy crap! Awesome

  • I like to ask my Dan Briggs questions Dan Briggs would say no to.

    "Do you play basic rhythms?"

"Are you an unimportant band member?"

"Can you make me hate life?

  • @xemnaughtSH Dan Briggs is quite possibly the most awesomestestestest prog bass player I've ever heard.

  • WHERE THE SHIT DOES HE PULL THAT FUCKING VIBRATO OUT OF

  • Only gods can produce such amazing live quality.

  • I need to see them live.

  • I love you Paul. In a totally non obsessive or homosexual way. You just write amazing music, and perform it to perfection. Btbams music gives me a boner.

  • 6:25 - 6:35 THE GOOSEBUMPS WONT STOP! Fucking amazing.

  • 8 people doesn't like rain.

  • @marcusclasson90

    1 person doesn't like grammar

  • @bigthene5er6ish i thought the same thing, but i woke up the next morning peeing like jim carrey in me myself and irene..

  • fuck... me.

  • yes, i bought this dvd before i went underway, and i watched it at least once everyday

  • haha dillinger tshirt awesome

  • 8 dislikes.......WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i would not expect that voice from him

  • Makes my nips tingle.

  • had to hear this, im sitting here studying singing "IT'S RAININNGGGG"

  • I like Paul's tone during the "It's Raining" part much better in this version than the studio version

  • That big "it's raining, it's raining, IT'S RAAAAIIN" hits me in the nuts every time. I wish I could do that. This band is fucking wicked.

  • Guys, it's raining.

  • it still amazes me that Tommy can do that high, then jump back into growls

  • Man the last solo is perfect

  • I like how Dan never wears shoes or socks live

  • 6:26. chills. every. fucking. time.

  • I gotta say, that while I absolutely hate Tommy's growls in studio (don't hate, I find them very bland and getting in the way of the guitars and drum...I LOVE his cleans btw) right here live...they kick ass! I'd rather have a live album then a studio album from BTBAM I guess. Lol.

  • @FootballnSoccer yupp, they're pretty overproduced on the cd's. i love the raw live voice he has

  • if i had to choice to only listen to one song over and over again for the rest of my life this would be the song, or prequel to the sequel, or white walls..... ect haha

  • I can't wait to see these dudes in concert!!!! Two more weeks!

  • Singing's very good. Not a fan of screamo anymore because i grew up. But do admire their musicianship. Their singing is very good. I enjoy their background vocals.

  • @gofusiesbass09

There is a difference between the range of growls that Tommy does and "screamo." And in no way does their choice in vocals dictate the maturity of their audience. Actually, BTBAM tends to drawn a bit more of an intellectual/mature fan base due to their technical and complex song compositions.

  • @gofusiesbass09 True. But still lacks the market that most standard rock and indie bands have. That's all im saying.

  • @gofusiesbass09

"lacks the market." I see. So if bands don't conform to your linear vision of how music should be, they must be aiming for a younger demographic. Based on how you put it, if a band isn't popular, they must be doing something wrong. Is this really the way you think? Do you realize how subjective music is? I know plenty of people in real life and on the internet who consider death metal to be art. Music is whatever the listener wants it to be, get off your high horse.

  • @calmsnowfall eugh. Don't waste your time on this guy. You get BTBAM or you don't and he's obviously missing something crucial if he's less than amazed by this video.

  • @calmsnowfall I approve of this comment.

  • @gofusiesbass09

And vocals alone shouldn't determine a band's maturity level, really. I don't know of anyone younger than me who listens to this band.

  • @gofusiesbass09

So you're stereotyping harsh vocals to be only for young people? Way to have an open mind.

  • @calmsnowfall Calling it like I see. I don't see anyone else listening to it.

  • @gofusiesbass09

You must live in South Carolina or something.

  • @calmsnowfall No I just have a better taste in music than this. Don't get me wrong they're incredibly talented, I just feel like it really can't go anywhere than the 14-18 year old scene.

  • @gofusiesbass09

    1/10

  • The bassist uses fingers! Incredible that he's that fast!

  • when i heard this song 2 years ago it was the first btbam song i ever heard(this exact video) i hated it but from that time to now i quickly appreciated them and listened to heavier and heavier stuff by btbam and now they are my fav band and i even learned all of colors (both guitars) :)

  • 6:26...'nuff said

  • I was shown this last night...i now have the entire discography.

  • It's raining. It's RAINING! IT'S RAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIINNNNN...!!!!!

  • I can't believe this sounds this good live, they must walk around everywhere with a metronome playing on their earphones

  • 5:00 = orgasm

  • Comment removed

  • everyone that enjoys this, do yourself a big favor and go pay about 10 dollars for the colors live cd/dvd It is the most rewarding 10 dollars i have ever spent

and this quality is shit compared to it

  • @TheOrderlyGuy32 Couldn't have said it better myself. That DVD is fucking insane. It's one of my most treasured possessions.

  • @Skitch213 Thnx I want them to come out with a new colors live cd/dvd, not literally, I mean 1 continuous masterpiece followed by some classics they didn't play on colors dvd, and this time PLEASE BTBAM put all the live songs on the cd, I would KILL for those on my colors cd. I think it would be epic, and IMHO i hope they do More of Myself to Kill, Colorblind, The Day I Tried To Live, Reaction, Shevanel take 2, and if need be, a song off Misdirect. I'd rather hear a new cover, a Tool song Id CUM

  • @TheOrderlyGuy32 I dont know why they didnt include the second set but there's a website that converts videos to mp3 so although id rather spend money on btbam i ended up downloading all of the second set that way

  • @TheOrderlyGuy32 I don't know why they'd re-record songs from a cover album for a live DVD. I also don't think they've played Reaction/Shevanel Take 2 since at least the Alaska years. They're generally not too well received by the fanbase formed by the current lineup.

  • Thumbs up if you want to hear Dan sing a bit more on CD recordings!!

  • 6:26 and on is just AMAZING...the music he can make with his vocal chords are just awesome.

  • Haha. 1:27 in...is badass.

  • so this is what screamo looks like

  • @Mangaboy1016 I really hope you're kidding...

  • @Mangaboy1016 -.- wow... This is a whole different genre from screamo and screamo looks like teens in really tight skinny jeans tea bagging the floor.

  • @hillzmage209 calm yourself sir, i just made a statement.

  • This song and Croakies and Boatshoes are the best off of Alaska!

  • those are the worst tags i've ever seen! and the description?!

  • IT'S RAINING, ITS RAAAAAAAAAINING ITS RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JamesFinch dude. That fucking vibrato. makes me jizz

  • This song is beautiful

  • They told me not to say this;

But goddammit, I'm going to read it anyways.

    Because I wrote it!

    ..and it's the truth.

    I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND!

THEY ARE THE BEST BAND EVER, PERIOD!

  • @JonathanRox69 LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!!! BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME!!!!!

  • @HiPPoKryPtiC It's a Tenacious D and The Pick of Destiny movie quote if you hadn't caught on by the way.

  • @HiPPoKryPtiC I agree lol;

This just happens to be my favorite band, and everything they touch, in my eyes, is pure gold.

Including Orbs, and Tommy Giles solo album.

  • shit gives me chills every fucking time. so cash

  • i bought this cd/dvd yesturday and i cant stop listening/watching this song

  • The riff from 7:30 onwards is just to fucking awesome

  • Saw these guys supporting lamb of god last year. they are fucking insane live :)

  • This is the best live album i own :)

  • 6:30 - 6:40

  • BTBAM best clean tone in metal. IMO of course.

  • I'd give my left nut to be able to sing as good as Tommy.

  • i dont care wat anyone says this guys is one of the best prog rock singers ever !!!!!!

  • <3 Blake's fill 2:30

  • I bought colors live and want to listen to this on my ipod but it didn't come with the audio for the second set, how do I get the audio.

  • I've listened to this song 300 plus times and it's still on repeat. I love it. Inspiring.

  • 2:39

  • i can't not get chills at 6:26

  • anybody know what the mac's for?

  • @ServeTheBeaver I would assume sampling of some kind.

  • @ServeTheBeaver they used it for the intro of Informal Gluttony.

  • @RomeSkateFoSho ah, okay that makes sense.

    Thanks!

  • 6:26

    fuck yes.

  • Why do my pants suddenly become filled with white fluid whenever I listen to this song?

  • Not many bands can have a single vocalist do clean and hard vox well, especially live. Masterful.

  • i find it mildly ironic that i happened to have an urge to hear this song, and its raining outside.

  • Um yeah. Was that auto-tuned or what.... I love BTBAM, but there's a lot of artifacts in these vocals. Maybe my ears are deceiving me though I'm listening through Ultrasones... I'm just sayin I haven't seen him pull off that high note live yet. Love em still.

  • @bedofrazorsqwerty Nope, Tommy's vocals are completely legit live

  • @freakinsweet830 His fuckin screams are unreal live. I was seriously impressed when I saw them with Black Dahlia Murder and Children of Bodom a few years ago in Baltimore. It was just surreal. I expected him to fuckin pass out, lol. But yeah, the singing parts didn't shine like they did on CD and the vids I've seen of them live haven't shown me different either. Maybe he just gets blown out after awhile and can only do them sometimes. That I could understand with how he uses his voice. =)

  • @bedofrazorsqwerty They were spot on when I saw them with Cynic and Devin Townsend and Scale the Summit, another thing with this is his adrenaline might have helped since he knew it was for the DVD

  • @bedofrazorsqwerty That's simply a tremolo effect.

  • 6:30 fuckin' epic

  • Damnit.

  • This sounds better live, you know a band is amazing when they are better live.

  • 5:45

  • anybody notice the douche giving tommy a handjob at 1:55? haha....

  • I have to poop. Thank you.

  • Every fan of btbam should check out ORBS cuz Dan Briggs is guitar as well in that band

  • @NOBAMAftw i wouldn't really say it's for every BTBAM fan honestly, but definitely for every Fear Before the March of Flames fan(which Adam Fisher is the backup vocalist/guitarist for). but Eclipsical is a very BTBAM-esque song in structure and length.

  • @RomeSkateFoSho just saying cuz everyone already knows PRC and ORBS is sick as well in its own way

  • @NOBAMAftw oh definitely. i've been driving to Asleep Next to Science since my pre-order came in the mail. quality stuff.

  • the best part (other than the kick ass song) about this is the dillinger excape plan shirt on the back up guitar player

  • @kuzmaniac05 I have never noticed the back up player. I think he should have played at the end of white walls. With the 2 harmonics, I think its just missing something.

  • @kuzmaniac05

    Back up? It's rhythm, dude.

  • The Colors DVD version was so much better than the studio version (both are still masterful).

  • at like 7:07 is Tommy using background tracks?

  • @Darthidiot123 I think it's just for harmonizing

  • son sensacionales!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you're the best greetings from argentina (L)

  • 6 justin bieber fans in the house

  • show me your genitals on suggestions (Y)

  • Dan seriously needs to do more backup vocals live.

  • @visitorOMG He should've gotten at least some parts in The Great Misdirect.

  • @ADyingSunRB True dat. Even Paul needs to do more vocal support. He has an amazing voice too.

  • @visitorOMG I'd prefer more vocals from Paul personally.

  • You forgot to use "sex" as a tag for this video

  • This band is fucking tight. Amazing.

  • warning: Sexual content advisory

  • geniuses

  • How in the world is he able to hit that high note? It's higher live than on the CD. Not only that, but he immedialty goes right back into the growling!!!

  • @horrorandmetalfan001 - It's called falsetto, every guy can do it. Tommy's is just really controlled.

  • @horrorandmetalfan001 Seriously check out aspirations from the same dvd. Do it.

  • Comment removed

  • Love the description.... watch in hq for sex

  • i absolutely love this song and the "it's raining" bridge (or whatever you'd label it)

  • the interlude thing is so awesome! it's crazy that someone that can scream like that can also sing sooo well! :D

  • I. Love. This. Song.

  • Awesome! Thanks for the upload! Great quality and kickass song (my favorite from Alaska).

One thing though. Anyone who doesn't know the band will see the title and think the band is called Backwards Marathon, because you listed that first.

  • damn so technical all of them. they all have skill to switch it up and sound good heavy or soft
