I understand that this sucks because it happened to me, but playing with shoes is not a good idea.

I duck taped mine back together and it works great, actually feels like a cheat because I only have to push the pedal half way down for it to register.

I remember when this happened to me..... I just cut part of a wooden fan blade off and glued it where the plastic pedal went and glued the thing that hits the sensor under it..... it is still working but it is really hard to push down so it is really difficult for double bass hits.... i really need a rock pedal and an ion kit ( or at least new pads for my ps3 rockband 1 kit)

I can't see if this is correct, but are you wearing shoes? Because if you are wearing shoes and you're hitting the pedal THAT hard, that's probably why it broke so soon. I know they're a peice of shit and I now have a destroyer pedal, but my 1st stock pedal lasted a good 5-6 months.

1) as dumb as it sounds, i know the song on "air drums". which is basically memorizing the song as a whole (which i've done years ago to be able to play it on guitar) and the kick drum patterns.

2) this video was recorded a week after rock band came out. so it amounted to about 4 hours total of playing the song

i dont get your post at all. when you are heel down, you are using you calve muscles to do the drummer. heel up is your entire leg (pushing down with upper leg and forward with heel). heel down drumming is only good for shit where you dont need to kick hard like in jazz. heel down in metal will get you nowhere. google it my friend. also rockband's kick pedal is more resistant/no reflection from the beater hitting a head. heel down just won't work.
