His Dachshund was killed by Death=Adder

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVED that dragon. Made beating the big guys with the sword and shield SO MUCH easier. I liked the other dragon that shot fireballs more though. Gave me more breathing room.

  • *troll swing* "friggill friggle fraggle, friggle frggle!"

  • Golden Age of video games

  • AHHOIT!!!!

  • I never did make it to the end, never enough quarters.

Wow what a fucked up ending.

  • Lol , epic death scene !

  • The ending is so cool!! I really love it. Why didn't they make the same for the game consoles?? I guess the reason was the limited space on cartridges.

  • @JotaQ1982 It was on the Amiga version though.

  • the ending when they exit from arcade machine screen. until today i remeber it when i was 7 old year or even 6 old year friend of my borther finish the game and i see this , and this was really cool at the arcade room in netneya in Israel : )/

    old good memories : )

  • Stop in 6:27 loooooooooooolllll !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool ending, but those extra final 2 levels on the Genesis version really make you work to get there...def more challenging!

  • i fucking hate that cunting music at the end

  • @rocksoliddude1 The PC Engine version of the game's soundtrack was the best IMO

  • WTF HAPPENED TO DEATH BRINGER!?!?!?!?

  • @PokeYankeefan - The arcade version ends after the battle w/Death Adder...those final 2 levels were created specifically for the Genesis port.

  • i can almost smell the arcade when im watching this

  • Was this on easy mode? Dude you had to go inside the castle after you save the queen and king! WTF! Inside the castle is the real challenge! Then you fight the blue/purple guy with the golden axe. He even uses your own specials against you!

  • @bizkits arcade version by the looks of it. In the arcade version this is the end.

  • @gtq838 Yeah I noticed right after I posted the comment. Arcade= less difficult.

  • @bizkits

That was only in the Genesis version,

  • The axe fell cutting right into DeathAdder`s nutsack - what a way to go :O

  • Golden Axe is one of the best games ever. No doubt about it.

  • that game would have been perfect if you could kill the king & queen, isnt it? hehe

  • man that Death=Adder guy is a real dick

  • @Wyndamn Death Adder is easy. Now Death Bringer from the Genesis version - he's one tough son of a bitch.

  • I kicked butt on this game in the arcade AND on Sega. What a great game. When I get the time, I still play it on my Genesis.

  • Remember kids, winners don't use drugs... they impale people with giant golden axes.

  • @aznxkigga NICE

  • 1:45 I like that first scene :p

  • This ending also appears on the atari st version.

  • One of the greatest games of my childhood!!! ^_^

  • That Death=adder is mean.

  • LOL i whoop games on drugs

  • Epic ending XD

  • Alex=Kidd

    Prince of Ares

His Sega was killed by Death=Adder

  • the screams in the arcade version are so much better than on the genesis version.

  • @enmity666 haha....no kidding, since their sampled from the character mitch in the movie first blood with stallone

  • Pokari=69

    The Internet Troll

His Father and Mother and Brother and Dog and Cat and Goldfish and Car and Big Mac Combo was killed by Death=Adder

  • LOL Cheater!!!

  • prob the best ending of the series

  • quase nada apelão esse maluco.....kkkkkkkkk

  • Classic.Awesome Game

  • gilius thunderhead was the best character by far. dwafr power rules

    .

  • that ending is the best and most fun ever! =D

  • thats alot of clobbering you had to do

  • the dwarf was the best

  • 4:36 to 4:41 the colossal dragon was my favourite thing in the game

  • I remenber i played this game for many years ago (:

  • I remember a buddy and I beat this game in the arcadehalls. Damn, used alot of money, hehe!

  • I love this game its beast dude. I use to play it all the time when I had it on Sega Genesis and I have it on PS2 on a Sega Genesis collection game.

  • I like how this Sega sampled the "oh god!" voice from Rambo: First Blood.

  • It doesn't stop there, also sampled from First Blood is the sound the peasants make when being stepped on (First Blood: Galt falling from helicopter), from Charles Bronson's Deathwish "UL-Aah!", and from Conan the Barbarian, the scream from the giants when they die. Funny to see the movies and go "whoa, that was Golden Axe! REWIND REWIND!"

  • LOL! Sega was sampling before rappers started to.

  • that's cool i have this game for sega, still play it now & then but i've never seen that arcade verison

  • the ending is so worth it, i mean its the last the one would ever expect from a game like this

  • I love video game ai, especially the old school ai. Dude on the left dances in place from 3:42 until 4:02 lol

  • I remember this game! good vid!

  • Just another arcade I'd shove quarters into back in '89. Found that when not riding a dragon, the charge (forward, forward + attack) was the best move.

  • this game was GREAT back in the day. i remember those dragons and how much i hated those skeletons

  • do you mean Female Body Inspectors lol

  • @dorlockt What did you say?

  • i masturbate for the thunderhead:-*:-D

  • lol yeh, if you could squint real hard you could see a bit of snatch hahahaha kidding, don't go blind lol

  • damn, u are a skilled one :) And that dragon is kinda cheat ))

  • How is it kind of a cheat? Its part of the game.

  • In the Sega version, you had to fight the Death Bringer, after Death Adder.

  • U had to fight Darth-Vadder ? ;-----D

  • First off you mean the Genesis/home version, and secondly the guy he's facing at 5:00 is changed in the home version to Death Adder Jr. and the one you face after him is Death Adder.

  • In the Genesis version, you only face Death Adder Jr. if you're playing in Beginner mode.

  • that's only on easy or beginner or whatever that easy mode is, in regular it is Death Adder and then followed by Death Bringer in the extra levels

  • Either way, This Death=Adder guy sounds like a bad guy. Killing everybody's Family members and all.

In the Day, this was the closest thing to becoming Conan.

    DanameaTheBattleLock

  • Actually the closest thing to being Conan back in the day was Rastan...go look it up if you dont remember. I gurantee you'll go ....."Oh!!!!!!I forgot about this one!" :)

  • his friend's nieghbor's second cousin twice removed was killed by Death=adder!!!

  • what's version is???

  • it's the arcade version

  • 711 minimart classic.

  • The guys says...OOOHHH SHITTTT AT 2:03

  • MAME ARCADE VERSION IS THE BEST!!!

  • I'm slightly concerned about what are they going to do to those kids when they catch em...

  • Amiga had the Arcade ending as well, but the Sega Genesis version had an extra level.

  • omg hes a gold ax i only had it sega so i neva got y it was called that

  • If this is how death adder is supposed to die then in the megadrive sega genesis version death bringer was just an extra boss?

  • I remember this! Tyris-Flare was a real hottie (pun not intended)!

  • The Arcade version has better graphics then the Sega Megadrive but worse music. The Arcade Ending was great though.

Some people say they spent a month allowance to beat this game, but i only need 2-3 coins.

  • I loved this game when I was a kid, played it so many times...I love the endind, funny as hell...Only change I'd make is to put some MANOWAR songs into the game...EPIC!!!

  • Ever since I was a kid, I've wanted my very own pet bizarrian of my very own. XD That purple beaky bird with a yellow beak which I think appeared in other games -- maybe Altered Beast.

  • LOL Me 2! I used to love those things when i was a kid! :D

  • When I was 12, this amazing game obsedded me...

  • oh so thats why i didnt recognise the beggining and ending of the game because i was on a different version.

  • thank you, I wanted to know if it says "Hokari Sweat" instead of "Pokari Sweat" at the end

  • arcades were the best in the 80's.this game is gold!

  • dragon sais screw u guys i'm going home @ 6:10

    fuckin pussy

  • that aint the ending

  • They changed the ending for the megadrive version. I like more this one.

  • Tyris has the best magic attack in this game compared to both other characters and all the characters in the sequeals. The Fire-breathing dragon rocks!

  • Oh thanks for posting this! I never saw the ending in the arcade (and I played it a LOT in the arcade in 1989!)

  • dude u pwn golden axe!!! lol the last guy is soooo fukin hard!!!!

  • Shit, man, they're making a new Golden Axe subtitled Beast Rider, and it looks like utter shit.

First: There appears to be only one character: Tyris Flare. One char=no coop.

Second: It seems the game revolves around riding beasts, making it seemingly impossible to beat the game on foot.

Third: It's a next-gen games, most of them suck outright.

I forget who's working on it, but please, tread lightly.

There's a debut trailer on Gametrailers if anyone's interested.

    Long Comments FTFW!

  • I don't think you should judge the new game before you've even had the chance to touch the cover, let alone play the game. I happen to be very excited that they're bring this game back and even thought you will only be able to play as Tyris, Gilius the Dwarf and Axe Battler are said to have cameo parts in the game and may even be included in future sequels of the game... that is if completely uniformed jerks like you can refrain from running people off before the game even releases...

  • Thank you! The new version looks like a lot of fun, I'm really looking forward to it. The fact that it is one player does not bother at all. If it does well, Sega is planning on making a sequel which features multi-player. They have posted a new developer walkthrough video which looks awesome! It should be posted on utube soon. Wouldn't it be great if Beast Rider was the beginning of a new wave of GA games?!

  • This is the game were everybody just likes to play the Dwarf with the axe. XD

Btw, the PC version is much better imo. And oh yeah, this game kicks ass. Brings back a lot of memories ya know.

  • This takes me back. I used to love this game. I traveled with my parents on business trips and everywhere I played I blew away the high score. I guess that technically I was the southern united states champion. Lol. Thank you for uploading this.

  • Quite possibly the best ending of an arcade game ever...

  • lol, the only golden Axe game I've beaten when I was young was part 3, I never played 2 and couldn't make it to the end with the original. This ending is hilarious, by past comments, it seems this ending is diffrent.

  • The genesis version isn't that far off. Of course, the arcade graphics and sounds are unrivaled, but the gen managed to capture the essence and the look relatively well.

  • The Genesis version was very good, but like you said, the arcade graphics & sound are unrivaled (except for the XBLA version).

Sega's System 16 arcade board that powered Golden Axe and Altered Beast could produce much nicer, more detailed, more colorful graphics as well as significantly better audio than the Genesis.

The arcade Golden Axe ROM was something like 24 megabit, the Genesis ROM is only 4 megabit.

  • ahaaaa... FM synth :)

  • Thankyou Stallone for shanking David Caruso in the leg and producing that scream.

  • It said Great Axe on the machine, could that be what the game was called at one point?

  • Weren't those screams sampled from the First Blood movie?

  • God, this kills the Genesis version!

  • Only reason i got a sega was for the port.

  • MegaDrive/Genesis Golden Axe was a conversion of the arcade, not a port.

  • Best.Ending.Ever.

  • awsome i love this game!

  • Ah. legendary game. Used to play with Gilius when I was a kid.

    Greetings from Argentina.

  • GOLDEN AXE TO THE NUTSACKS!!!!!!

  • i'm so stoned

  • good strategy with tyris. i remember seeing this ending in the arcade when people used to play this all the time. if you think about it, that's kind of a fucked up ending to show children back then. but hey, there was also NARC.

  • Wow gujarkhan123 you are so fucking cool, I wish I could have an amazing working knowledge of when Video game where released, you must kill all the chicks with your Coolness!!

  • a godly kickass game for 1988 !

  • not 1988. it was 1989!

  • Amazing.

  • who here thinks the skeletons are harder to predict than the bosses?

  • yeah, i do. they took a fuckin' grip too. they were a faster version of the main characters is what made it so hard.

  • Lucky for me i got the Sega emu version so are alot weaker however i need to beat a harder boss with skeletons that cant die ><"

  • a hated this game

this just adds fuel to da fire

  • quality of arcade is so much higher than megadrive's one, that's a shame :/

  • true. the arcade rom was 24-meg! the megadrive/genesis rom was only 4-meg, so that's 1/6 the amount of data! plus the System 16 arcade board was significantly more powerful. it could display well over 1,000 colors at once from a pallete of over 32,000 colors. compared to 64 out of 512 on md/genesis. System 16 could display 128 sprites compared to 80.

  • That was the funniest, most unexpected ending I've seen to a classic video game.

  • Yes...

Hint for other funny game ending: caveman ninja, also for arcade.

  • that is, without a doubt, the dumbest video game ending, ever

  • Still Godmoding, like in your TMNT video? GG

  • era de mis favoritos me lo acaqbaba sin ke me m e tocaran niuna vez

  • i love in the 80s the "winners dont take drugs" infocommercials :)

  • I had this game for my old Genesis.

  • They didn't went inside the castle. That's where the real final battle begins.

  • i wish the console versions were as high quality as the computer versions

  • o this beats all next gen sega rocks!

  • cool ending

  • theres another level after that on the mega drive version

  • Where are the village and other levels?

  • Yeah Sega Genesis is a trash...The original version is "like gold" : funny, very funny, and contains a social message: the poors is better person that the King...

  • The genesis did a good home port, not arcade perfect but very good for the time.

  • it wasn't a port, it was a translation. IMO port means using the original art assests and game code. the Genesis version was totally reprogrammed. like many arcade-to-console games of the time, Genesis Golden Axe was its own game. it wasn't the arcade game. so that's why it's a translation or conversion of the arcade, not a port.

  • do they only sell this game on NES

  • haha wow, what a strange ending...

  • yeah before I knew about the technical aspects of computers I never could figure out why arcade games looked better than home consoles.

  • I know what you mean. I always hated the NES version of the Ninja Turtles arcade game compared to the actual arcade version.

  • The Arcade Version Is Better Then The Sega Geneis
