the ps3 may have a better failer rate but due to the lack of video card horse opwer in the ps3 and no company yet able to use the full patential of the ps3 cpu the games are shown in more of less the same graphic wise, personally i prefer the 360 for controller since it is alot more comfatoble but if you want to go serious gaming then buy a half decent pc, since the parts of both consolls are years old any decent pc will play games as good if not better than both consollws but with better .....
