The castle where the story unfolds its not really dracula´s castle....dracula´s remains took over the mind of maxim and created the castle..so in other words the castle is the physical manifestation of maxim´s mind
@zigilist I looked up cacophony and it used the word Dissonance in it's definition. I find the high pitched tones to sound quite harmonious. This game, while not particularly memorable, had some of the most memorable music.
@neloangelo6661 I found it to be quite memorable, it was unique in almost every way, it mixed together the whipping action of a Belmont with the weapon, armor, and spell customization of Alucard, and the music was superb.
yeah. i used to take this game to school with headphones and my teach let me listen to it. i even did a painting using the colors that swirl in that room right before the warp room
I sometime like to go here and stand and watch justes coat sway to the beat of this. The marble corridor was such a gloomy and dark place...the room with the skeleton in some sacrificial position always creeped me out a little.
That room was awesome. I can clearly remember going to that room just to stop and look at that skeleton, jumping up and down to make the background "move" lol. I liked guessing what kind of magic it took to make a human that big, and how it was finally subdued. And what was it sacrificed for? I imagined a whole story around that room lol. Maybe I'll write one.
Harmony had the most mystery to Draculas Castle. While in others it was usually grand and magnificent. this one was depressing and macabre. one of my favorite of the Castlevanias.

what the hell is up with this music? this is pretty bad even by NES standards. Castlevania I and II had better music than this wrapped up rotten piece of garbage.
@RipvanX Year ago I know but the soundtrack for this game was actually a mistake lol. Even though it still sounded good, the sound developers didn't know about the new stuff inside the GBA so they only made sound for the existing chips that were also present in the other Gameboys and is why the music sounds inferior to Circle of the Moon, which preceded it.

Best Castlevania games are Super Castlevania IV, Symphony of the Night, and of course, Harmony of Dissonance. Anyone who says HoD sucks is retarded

@giygasilka amen to that.
i enjoyed the hod game so much.

This sounds very familiar to me... It sounds as the Zelda Oracle of Seasons - Temple Of Seasons theme

A mistake it might have been but it has never been that a mistake is never beautiful, memorable or even a masterpiece.

For me... the best theme of the game

Perhaps growing up with old Atari music is what makes the difference?

I respect your opinions, but I must disagree. The song sounds like nothing short of a cacophony to me.

Clearly you can feel that a dark and evil aura came from this room JUST by listening to this song.

Nice, this is one of my favorite songs. It reminds me of the song from SotN outside of Drac's Castle....I forget the name, but it has a similar beat.
Jago7159 3 years ago
yeah it is called draculas castle on sotn also better known as alucard theme.
devilbelmont 3 years ago
until now i believed that alucard´s theme was "the tragic prince"

The audio quality was reduced so that the graphics could be better. Which is why HoD had better graphics than AoS .

even so , the ost of this game is one of my top favorites, pure gold if you know what i mean

I think you might be right about the graphics part. Never noticed that.

You hear so much more when you listen to it with actual speakers, rather than GBA/DS speakers.
