Dude, Nice set. You mix however the fuck you want. Haters gonna hate. Cheers man. Do what you love with reckless abandon. Bully to you for having the balls to put your shit on here.
I am not going to pick on the mixing or song choice... However I will say this: Stand the f**k up... Impossible to properly get into your music sitting down, and it's impossible to pull of a good set if you can't get into it.
enjoyed the set - not perfect - but enjoyable. Good on ya mate. track title through the 8-9 minute mark please. hope the kit works out well for ya. Cheers
I'd like to hear ideas for improvement on this - mention areas it lacks in, if any? I'm an experienced DJ and I love working with VDJ for the video feature. I cant wait for Itch to offer it - Traktor says they dont even care to offer it. how are we liking this for video mixing? Since it's the only real option I guess its the best?....
does anyone feel like the 6K is too crowded and would wish it had more room like the NS6? I do... Ultimate unit would work great with Serato Itch, VDJ and Traktor and have all the features the 6K has with the room of the NS6... My opinion. Maybe I could get used to the spacing of the 6K??????? My only concern (other than not having 4 LED readouts for volume control (PFL)
good vid mate...fuck the haters. I'm starting out DJ myself and am looking at the DN-MC6000 and wanted to know how you like it after playing around with it for some time now. Also what software are you running with it Virtual DJ, Traktor, Ableton, etc. Any input will be sincerely appreciated.
Incredible thing indeed :) Keep rocking, keep practicing everything will pay off, Imma green DJ myself. :) Just keep up the fire friend, you have some mighty tools for party, good work. :)
Good man. Jut be careful of using that stutter button in vdj, and that phaser. I was at a party last night and the guy just wouldn't stop! Anywho, keep it up and sounding good!
nice intro , from one fellow DJ to another, thats a good strong mix the energy is there, good overall balalnce, is it harder to mix with 4 channels?? or does it open alot more ground ?? A good DJ always learns and takes praises and criticism as motivation. thats my concept
It's funny people come on here and flame you. If they knew what they were looking at they'd realize you're just mixing tracks together, like any DJ, you're not producing... You're not claiming anything here. Tell em to bug off ;D Keep practicin. GJ
I speak for deadmau5 and i say that he wouldnt like this at all because ur not doing anything unique or different to his songs. Im not hating on you, but bro keep practicing ..... alot.
@TheAkay67 Yes I realize this, It's not supposed to be a remix neither is it deadmau5 exclusive, it's just a practice set I did and the first mix I made on my DJ gear when I first bought it. Prior to this I had been using a mouse and keyboard. So yeah I wasn't really trying to change the way the songs sounded, just practice mixing them and have a bit of fun. And of course I am always practicing. Also how is that you speak for deadmau5? Can't deadmau5 speak for himself?
@wereboarder2009 Dude do u even know the definition of mocking? I think u missed out key words from my post to the uploader when i said ' Im not hating on you' . dont be trolling on me bro
@jeza4646 well everyone is entitled to their own opinion mate. I'm a learning DJ and quite a few people like my stuff, I've heard much worse. And who are you to judge? What do you do? Are you some superstar DJ or just a random wannabe critic?
@shortstopcb You can't even see my computer screen in this! It's on my left not straight in front of me. What you are looking at is the side window of my computer case which is a Thermaltake Armor+
Well I don't have to as the DNMC6000 has a built in sound card.
But before I got my controller I did it like this...
My PC has Realtek HD Audio, in the Realtek control panel I set under advanced options for my rear sound output and front panel sound output to play separate audio streams.
Then in the sound configuration settings in Virtual DJ I selected to use 2 sound cards, set my master output as the read sound output and my cue (headphones) as the front output.
I disagree, I have used both Traktor and Virtual DJ, the Denon DN-MC6000 works with both and I prefer Virtual DJ, I also own a legit pro version so I'm not about to throw that away. And this was the first mix I did on the MC6000 when I first got it. I'm only a beginner and I'm still learning.
Agree. Used both Traktor (for 3 years) and VDJ (1,5 year) and must say VDJ is much better choice if you want to do some serious mixing... specially in the crowded, loud club.
@valamerkurayami Well i would strongly disagree mate, considering ive been djing a long time take my word for it that vdj is far worse than traktor in many ways buddy!! As you dj for longer you will find this out.
Most professionals will only use serato and traktor so that proves everything mate. Put the time to learn traktor and i swear to you, your mixes will be 50% better in a month, but do your research on the traktor programme, learn how to beatgrid and structure your tunes :)
Well in your opinion that may be so, but I know many people who swear by Virtual DJ.
I think at the end of the day it comes down to the individual, the problem is Virtual DJ has a bad rap from the massive amount of bedroom DJs with illegal torrent copies. But there are many things that I and many other DJs prefer in Virtual DJ (ie. overlapping waveform, ease of customization (skins, addons, etc), video support, etc).
@DJJamesHighton They both have their place. I do a lot of mixing, and if I were working a club I'd be happier with Traktor. However, I also sometimes do karaoke at parties and VirtualDJ's cdg abilities are unmatched anywhere else, and is still pretty good for mixing with. The fact that this controller supports both softwares out of the box makes me a very happy person.
I am sorry, but this is a bad mix! practise to use this controller...by the way...look to my channel..I scratched with the mixer without the "stutter effect".
Yeah I actually know how to use a controller but if you looked at my previous comments you would see why I used the mouse at points.
Every now and then I was having a problem where the song selection highlight was off-screen and I couldn't see what folder I was highlighting, so I had to manually scroll down, haven't worked out a way to do this on the controller yet. I tried holding shift while using the knob and it made no difference.
@valamerkurayami The "browse" button (small button on the left right in the middle) toggles between decks view and full screen track listing (in Traktor Pro). When using 4 decks you don't see much of the track listing (first 3 tunes?) at all. Problem is you can't drag / resize deck windows smaller.
You also can assign folders to the shortcuts and use the forward and back buttons to jump between folders. (10 folders isn't enough though, I would have liked to have more shortcuts available).
I rank the DN-MC6000 a 9/10. The only reason it's not 10/10 is at the moment there is a lock up problem that some people experience with scratching at times. But the problem is currently being worked on by Denon and will be fixed in a firmware update soon.
I did see that Pioneer are going to release the DDJ-T1 but I haven't seen a release date so it could be a while. It looks good but it's not rack mountable and I don't think the mixer is a true mixer, just a controller.

hi what was your FX at 2:14? how much wet/dry etc... THANKS! :)
lBryanlAngelol 2 weeks ago
@lBryanlAngelol The effect at that point is Beatgrid, it's built into Virtual DJ. There was no wet/dry change.

1. Default setting of MC6000 faders in VDJ is left 2 control decks A and B, while right to control decks C and D.
2. A few time I tried to trigger an effect but wasn't on the EFX screen in VDJ so they didn't trigger.
3. Some of the tracks had their own sound effects similar to VDJ ones.
4. Look harder, because I did mix it live and record with my webcam at the same time.
