It`s a good song, but after the Oscars, it seems to me( and my friends) that A.R Rahman is really becoming cocky with his work. After slumdog millionaire, no songs have been really good (mostly average to just plain bad).
Even the anthem could have been more amazing, and especially for the fact he was paid such a hefty amount. Good anthem, but definitely could have been fantastic, knowing his talent.

Seriously, I know that this song is not actually worth what was given for it but still it pretty cool and for those guys who starts dissing A.R Rahman for making this song should get a life (Not trying to be mean or anything). Well if you think about it, none of us could make a great song like this, other than the professional composers. Anyways being a Keyboardist myself I reckon he'd done a pretty good job but we expected more from him.
But I still recognize him as a great musician.

@unkiemonk it's much easier for a government to create employment and give social security to a population of 21 million compared to a country which has a population of 1.13 billion and stuck with countries like Pakistan and China who fund terrorism and maoism to keep on curbing the economic development. Rehman totally knew what he was doing on this one. This song was meant to be heard live in a stadium, not at home on youtube. This is exactly the kind of soaring, accelerating piece that an opening ceremony needs. Instead he had to poppify and shorten it. Thats just tragic.

It`s a good song, but after the Oscars, it seems to me( and my friends) that A.R Rahman is really becoming cocky with his work. After slumdog millionaire, no songs have been really good (mostly average to just plain bad).
Even the anthem could have been more amazing, and especially for the fact he was paid such a hefty amount. Good anthem, but definitely could have been fantastic, knowing his talent.
