  • He's got a tramp stampO.o

  • @Sweetiepie1610

When you do your front flip you blow out your nose while you push off the wall, it helped me and I am a swimmer PS

  • "spring off the wall like a rocket"

i didnt know rockets spring off walls ^^

  • i swim commpttively and its a real work out its really hard to get in the water and swim so give them a brake!! ohh and breathing out ur nose does NOT work!!

  • @kkkfalls what works then? :) I hate it up my nose

Do you just get a nose plug??

  • i surely will give a try to it ...!

  • Blow *OUT your nose

  • Dont forfet to blow put your nose when doing this because if you dont then water will go up your nose and its not a good feeling it'll probably just slow you down more

  • I have been practicing for a while now but i have one main problem, whenever i do it, i turn to the side and become crooked. Any ideas on how i can fix this?

  • You just put your hands at your sides and come into the flip with momentum, then put your head down, you flip and your hands will be right in front of you. its basic physics....

  • 1:36 He has a tramp stamp. Can I go home now?

  • 42 ppl take off their swimming short while ware trying to made the flip XD hahaha

  • Did he really need to be in the water to tell us what to do with those separate videos?

  • @Ashby2508

    yeah he did.

  • how do you know the perfect timing to flip turn? i think i tried this but my head hit the wall first! lol! thats my signal to flip turn.

  • I've been practicing my flip turn quite a bit lately and i'm finding momentum definitely makes the turn easier. At this point (since I'm a newb) I just barely tap the wall with my hand before instigating the turn. Any tips on where your arms should be during the turn?

  • @intercoursechef Look at how he does it in the video. Arms at your side when your coming to the wall. When you flip, extend your arms out behind your head.

  • i always thought u have to touch the wall with ur hand, not feet!!

  • As a coach for over 30 years, I found the video very lacking in accurate information. I would not recommend depending on the information found in this video.

  • Never done it like that, like when my feet where on the wall i was already turned the head facing ground (not spinning after pushing).

  • I've known how to do a flip turn scence I was 3 I am now 12 and one of the best swimmers on my team yay me :)

  • I've swum for more than 10 years but still can't flip turn lol

  • @PiyamonMs LOL. same here! I've been seriously swimming since I was 14 and I am now 40. Still cannot do this. Whatever lol..

  • you sound like that life guard on zach and cody

  • everytime i bend my head in any direction underwater, water starts rushing into my ears... like i have to keep my head in an up position at all times if i try to angle my head water starts coming in. is that normal?

  • this video will show you how to to a whale turn

  • tramp stamp

  • i call it a rolly polly

  • Great , now do a barrel roll

  • 34 people got water in there noses and burned that he threw their snot in the water

  • i always push of the wall on top of the water, and not in?? Any advice if u get what i mean

  • @bopsyberbs123 ya, ur not flipping over enough; make urself into a tight ball, start with ur head tucked then have ur feet follow, make sure u turn far enough so that ur body is parallel to the ground and at that moment, feel for the wall with ur feet and it should be in the water

  • Whenever I try to do the flip turn, I always push off to the side, can anyone help? Thanks

  • @terminatorfresh666 ur not flipping over straight over...basically wat u need to do is be flat belly to ground swimming wen going into ur turn and then u just need to tuck in and roll straight....i have a feeling that wen u turn, u are feeling stronger on one side so u lean to that side to flip over thus making u go kinda diagnol...be straighter

  • I always end up loosing orientation.

  • gosh i hate adds >.<

  • can you tell me, is it faster to do a flip turn than just put my head out of the water and push the wall with my feet and start swimming? i wanna know, answer as soon as you can, i have a competition on sunday x

  • @JaredLeto98

    yes much faster

  • @TheBklynmermaid okaay thnx

  • @JaredLeto98 if you have competition, then you should know what is right and what is the fastest, because then i think you have trained for this and knows what is the fastest choise...the flip turn is much faster if you have the right technique(just got some technique) sry for that late answer, but i did just go into this video to check for fun(i'm just a viewer). i do swim competition, i hope it was a good competition last Sunday...

    ps: sry for bad enlish

  • I am practicing the freestyle for my Navy PST for Air Rescue swimmer and i have to do a 500 yard swim in under my goal, 9:30. Should i use the flip turn? and how can i get my endurance up so i can do the swim without tiring out as fast as i do, like drills or something?

  • @crazyboondocker 9:30 is not the fastest time for a 500 depending on how good of a swimmer you are, i can swim a 500 in under 6 min and im 13 but started when i was 6. i use the flipturn but if you dont feel comfortable i wouldnt,. to build up endurance do swim sets of 5 100 yards on an easy pace, (i start at 2 min and my time is 1 min) after that do 4 100s taking off 5 seconds from the interval and so on until you get to only 1 100 thzi should be a sprint. hope it helps,

  • @MegaFatboy555 well the thing is, if i go my 100% right away in the swim i wont be able to go the other things afterwards. a PST isthe 500 yard swim, as many push ups, sit ups and pull ups you can do, then a 1.5 mile run.

  • Fake !!

  • i can't do this, i'm afraid of turning under water :(

  • haha, finally I can do it.

  • lol that's a turn only for free style, and it isn't even complete... oh and I'm a swimmer and i check flips and take times during some contests....

  • made me laugh. oh yes i am a swimmer. :D

  • i did this and my swimming short went off me :'( it was embarrassing

  • @RowhieX ohhhh >.< public or privetly?

  • @RowhieX Happens to me all the time, wear a speedo :D

  • @Rowhie

ha ha ha ... what kind of swimming short ... ask philip to get u one ....

  • @RowhieX hot!

  • is this how deep the actual swimming lane water is?

  • I've tried that before, but I'm always scared I'll hit my head against the wall when I flip... XD

  • tramp stamp

  • A way to not get water in your nose, is to breath out while your nose is in the water so that the air coming out of your nostrils are pushing the surrounding water away.

  • @iwuvmakeup1 thats actually not recommended because you might not have enough breath for gliding after the spring

  • Your flip turn can be even faster if you don't stick your elbows out at the wall. You should keep your arms straight when making the somersault. Basically raise your arms above your head, make them straight, and put one hand on top of the other. Then bring your arms all the way down and do the somersault. Also, the most popular way to leave the wall is by remaining on your back for 2-3 'dolphin kicks' and then flipping over quickly and breathing when necessary :)

  • 29

  • I'm scared to practice the somersault. I love all the "just practice the somersault" comments right before the "and then do it at the wall". Uh, I just learned how to swim freestyle, but going topsy turvy in water scares the **** out of me. I think "how not to drown" is my next video...

  • it's beautiful flip turn , I like it!

  • love this technique...

  • love this technic...

  • Did I just see a fucking tramp stamp lol?

  • Phillip Toriello is gay.

  • @facethefire1 who the fuck cares?Does it matter if he is or not?

  • yupp he likes anal :)

  • I used to get water into my nose when I try a flip turn, please give me some tip or suggestion on how to prevent that, thanks!

  • @ducnguyen1994 I have that problem too.!!! It hurts so much.!!!

  • 1:34 this guy has a tramp stamp... lol

  • when i always do that, i'll get tired easily, so i can't finish the race.

  • Why on earth are humans not building long pools to complete 100m without doing this flipping thing :p

I'm in beginner to intermediate level, I feel like I've got gassed when I do it every time :|

  • Comment removed

  • This guiy actually just knows the basics... his technique is a bit off, in multiple videos...

  • Yeah uhm i need help, i recentoy tried out as a freshman for my highschool team, i was very good at free style and backstroke, but horrible at butterfly and especially breaststroke cause i didnt know what they were, Will i make it to the team???? Im scared i wont:(

  • @madmedia370 you will most likely make it, they will probably not have you do butterfly or breaststroke as an event if you aren't good at them or don't know them well. don't worry (:

  • @Dinosaursrock442 i didnt make it but ima join a city league

  • when i do it my nose hurts

    ;(

  • @sweet95earth blow out your nose

  • @sweet95earth thanks :))

  • I totally agree with MrSouptits........I'm just watchin' =D

  • I am 240lb 6 feet+ and doing flip turn in pool with 4 feet deep water with 2 people per lane is challenge! If water is at least 5- 6 feet deep then I m comfortable with it.

  • the water goes into my ears

  • #likearocket

  • 20 people got water in there noses lol

  • @juankarloselmasiso

    28 now :D

  • Did you forget the most important part? The twist so that your face is now facing down

  • yeah.... i did it a hundred of times but all failed.. haha it's so bad. I try it again. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is boring

  • @Sakari909 not its not, its positive

  • Why am I watching this? I have been taking swim lessons for the past 12 years. To do this, just practice to do the flip. After that, swim until you are very close to the wall. Do the flip, kick the wall with your feets, turn your body, and when you're "above the water" (you know what I mean) start swimming again. Thumbs up, so people can see this :)

  • im hoping to learn that

  • @MrSouptits haha true I already knew how but i had nothing else to do!

  • @MrSouptits hh i'm a life guard :D ur so right:P

  • i always end up sideways

  • they never tell you how to flip your body back the right way up and yet this is the only bit I struggle with.

  • Lol when I do flip turns I always do them too early so I flip and then push off when a wall isn't there so I'm laying there spazzing out in the water

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 This is easy to correct. You need to train in swimming designed swimming pool 25 or 50 Mt. The poll is divided by lanes, at the bottom of the pool there is a black mark. When you reach both extreme ends of the black mark you see it has a T like shape. That point is to indicate to you that you are about one arm pull from the swimming pool wall. Once you hare there and you complete your last one arm stroke, you have to get prepared and start the flip.

  • @phus2001 Thanks. You are really good at explaining things. Haha. That's what I've been working on, I've been told that on the stroke before you touch the wall is when you do the flip.

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 so funny! at least you can do a flip turn. :-)

  • @deniseacole Haha, well actually, I really don't have that problem anymore. My problem now that I'm on swim team is that I get water in my nose when I do them and it hurts like heck :(

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 LMFAO I thought I was the only one that had that problem.

  • @RKGOLF Haha which one, the problem with flipping to far from the wall or the one about water in my nose?

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 ikr, i did that today v.v

  • @tAiOcRuZ99 ROFL. My son is on the swim team, and while I'm a decent swimmer, I have never done a flip turn. I'm too much of a klutz, and I'm afraid I'll flip too late and my heels will slam on the side of the pool. :-P

  • not you again

  • Rockets spring??...... srry im bored......

  • its tumble twist

  • True, the biggest obstacle for me is getting water up my brain - how about that coach?

  • i always get water in my nouse when i do this...which sucks

  • All you have to do is blow air through your nose and that should prevent water from getting into your nose.

  • @r4p1d1stul

    blow out through your nose

  • @r4p1d1stul Oh I see that there's water on your nouse! Hahaha Nouse..It supposed to be nose

  • okay. i heard different version of flip turn and that's making me go crazy. The only issue i have is that my legs cant stable on the wall.

  • @maharlikano its called a drag suit. you can buy it at many swim shops or places like sports chalet or sports athority

  • @spartinbob69 Thank You

  • Try to get ur bum to the other side of the pool and your neck near the bottom! Hope t that helps xxxxx

  • Some how i am not able to do it. The movement i try, i get water into my nose and almost into my head, and that feeling is very bad.

Please let me know more tips/tricks.

  • @tirunagariuttam just blow out your nose slowly that way it prevents water getting in your nose while still conserving air

  • @dog12379 that would be right, bend your knees as close to 180 degrees as you possibly can as well.

  • 0:53: Spring off the wall - (wtf, wtf, ah!) like a rocket... (Did I say that out loud?)

  • I bet 90% of the viewers already know how to do a flipturn...we're just bored swimmers looking around on youtube....

  • @MrSouptits so true. LOL
