  • I haven't checked the responses for this video in long time, but just want to say thanks to everyone who has enjoyed it!!

  • @jsnwhite619 Heh, Sweet slide, Bro,,Bravo...

  • yes sir ..... thanks.

  • great

  • Slick....

  • epihone is by gibson made by the same people i own and id take over any other guitar out there

  • I just saw the drop down menu that had what you were using! I'll have to check out that blues driver, I would think I could do pretty well with my overdrive pedal and the compression setting on my Tonelab...

  • @cschlish The Pearly Gates are very responsive to your playing. Mixed with a good overdrive tube amp (or box) they can clean up or get very muddy with very little change on the settings, simply using a softer or harder attack on the strings. The Pro Jr. is great as well for controlling your distortion by simply rolling back the volume knob for clean and cranking it back to 10 for a screaming lead.

  • Love the tone Bud! I recently got a Tokai Les Paul with pair of pearly gates in it, you got me thinking about bringin up my action a bit and layin down my glass now. I have a 5w blackheart tube amp with a full eq, a vox tonelab with all effects available, mxr overdrive pedal running through a 212 cab with V30's. could you give me your settings and pedals to help me get a similar tone? I just usually play acoustic slide...Thx for any help!

  • @cschlish Always wanted to try the Blackheart. I love JJ Tesla tubes over the stock Grove tubes in the Fender. I also use a standard tuning/action on the guitar...swap from rhythm/lead/slide in one song with one guitar...just took a little practice. ;-)

  • Very nice buddy, peacefull and calm, loving blues, nice technique

  • naw man

  • Excellent job. Will watch again to learn for myself.

  • So what did you have in your les paul before the pearly gates?

  • It's an Epiphone, not a Gibson. I bought it used with the original gold finished pickups that had turned green and sounded a lot like a buzz saw.

  • Nice, well it sounds like a good difference in tone from what I normally hear.

  • what strings are you mainly using th slide on. The G and the B strings?

  • Yeah, for that song, I think I probably only played the E, B, and G strings.

  • have you got a tab for that man?

    good playin

  • Sorry, I don't. I play by ear.

  • good for you

  • it's best to play by ear...it shows alot more talent....love your playin man, it's alsome. I'm 13 and workin on slide

  • that was cool

  • pretty good man

  • Nice playing!

  • I really like your sound with the slide. I swear you have a derek trucks type of tone.

    Bruce

  • Very nice!

  • Down on the Bayou...

  • Wow, i´ve always been amazed by thoose who can play slide.

So do you press the slide tube on to the strings like you press your fingers when you normally play or do you just let the tube lean on the string?

    Would appreciate an answer...

    Nice stuff anyhow :)

  • I'm not pressing the strings, just "sliding" on them. I started off learning in open G and open D, but I got tired of having to retune or keep an extra guitar around. This and most of my slide playing now is in standard tuning.

  • nice man !!!!

  • awesome cover love that song

  • There is nothing as beautiful as a good ol' slideguitar.

  • I love that slide sound

  • yes very nice

  • nice... sounds great man... very clean, good slide work...
