@ollylewin Mephedrone is a synthesised cathinone, and cathinone is the active ingredient in khat, but the two aren't really comparable in terms of modes of use. Khat is a ten hour mild high, whereas a line of mephedrone is a much bigger, faster, more efficient. I don't know if you're a psychonaut type or what, but don't bother with khat if you expect to get a quick intense high out of it. If you do take it, chew with some juicyfruit, as khat tastes awful at first.

Yemen in facing a water crisis right now. 50% of the water used in agriculture doesnt go to the food we eat; it goes to a plant called Qat. If the price of qat was federally regulated and sold for the same price as fruits and vegetables the economic situation in Yemen would alleviate and people would not starve. It also contains cathinone, which is at strongest half the strength of amphetamine, and even then it's got more cathine which is half strength again. Because users take low doses at half the strength it doesn't make sense to compare it to amphetamine.

Yemen in facing a water crisis right now. 50% of the water used in agriculture doesnt go to the food we eat; it goes to a plant called Qat. If the price of qat was federally regulated and sold for the same price as fruits and vegetables the economic situation in Yemen would alleviate and people would not starve. But this will never happen because of all the currupt tribal leaders and government agents profiting off this drug and using their blood money bribing officers and goverment officials.

The reason why it is a cancer causing is because they use pesticides(most of the time)!!!; you know in yemen they barely or never clean there qat otherwise they would be fine. Unlike coffee or tea they don't pesticides in order for the protection and growth of their plants(sometimes).
