I'm feeling very bad, I practice, even watching these tutorials...I still suck at drawing! I can't draw a perfectly straight line without feeling like a loser with a ruler. I practice and practice, and one of two things happen...I either get worse, or it still looks as shitty before...how do I get better! URGH It's so frustrating, my lines aren't perfectly straight, my curves don't work...do I have no inherent skill? Should I quit while I'm ahead? I don't know what to do...Please Help!

im the same as u...no matter how i try my drawings are @!@!@ i try my hardest and wenever i draw a pic i feel like a looser...my big cousin Caitllin and i used to draw all the time...she is great at drawing and i look up at her...she is one of the best drawers i know and wenever she draws a pic i wish i was just like her...but its not about drawing like other ppl! uv got it ALL wrong if thats wat u think! ppl are creative and to show that u must beleive that u can draw!

ud notice soul eater is a halloween them

I want my style to be dark and gritty, more or less like Trigun, Hellsing, or Cowboy Bebop. I would like to make a dark comic that could appeal to a basic manga look. Just some people fighting, intergalactic struggle, etc etc. But I want to be proud of my work, that I could compare it to said Anime/Manga I enjoy and say that I accomplished a feat that I can say "Hey, check out my comic!" ^_^

But again...My problem stems from shit drawing and whatever, if any ya'll know what, I can send pics.

Me too. but i'm getting to the point where i just going to give up. I've been trying to illustrate my manga for about a year now. THere's a girl in my grade that's doing the same thing, and she's WAY better at it than i am. It makes me angry because i could be drawing for 24 hours and get no were, she can draw for 24 minutes and get a story out. I stink at it. I like the hobby, but i don't think i'm going to go any where with it.

Don't give up. Heck, I love drawing manga, but I lack originality in drawing hairs, outfits, etc. If I have one of those ADHD moments, I just doodle abstracts. I'm more obsessed with abstracts now, but I still love drawing. Just start out with the basics, and then add your own touches, then viola, you got yourself a piece that you can call yours. Moral of the story: Don't stop trying.

look having discipline determination and imagination helps you become a good manga artist even if shes good in drawing than you dont let it stop you from doing your favorite hobby keep practicing besides compare the drawing you have now than you have years ago! different huh!? just keep doing it and youll soon see your a manga artist. other manga artist starts thier drawing with simple and basic drawing until they get more professional just like you if you keep practicing im sure youll do it! :)

That is completely true. A few years ago, I sucked. A few basic shapes and some practice later, I'm on my way to professional! Okay, maybe not. One thing that really helped me was basic shapes, shading and outlines. Hell, I always start my drawings with stick figures! Haha! I'm the dude of doodles too! That's how I got a lot of my great ideas for art!

Hey! I'm very young and I don't mean to brag but I draw very good. It keeps practis no matter 2 years or 6! I have practecied sence I was 5 and now I am very good! even if you don't start as yound as me! Maybe its just that you need an eaisier tutorial! i feel like this will be useless after 3 months. but ima try and help anyway. The most advice i can give you is Dont trash a drawing untill you are completely finished with it.. because you can use it for a basic guideline for your next, and slowly improve on pieces individually each drawing.
