  • I know when I wear my kinky twist braids I usually use this spray shampoo I both out a local beauty supply store..... it works wonders instead washing my entire head and plus u jdont have to rinse it out you just massage your scalp.... I will definately try the cotton balls though before I do it next time

  • This is a good idea.

  • So do you not experience any shrinkage with the activator gel? I have Scurl no drip activator spray. I think I like that but was wondering if it was too wet to put on my twists causing possible shrinkage. I also am trying to avoid a tangled take down? are you twists ever hard to take down after being in for so long?

  • How often can you put the ACV mix on your scalp.

  • great vid and great tips. I put my daughter's hair in twists often, but am unable to keep it neat looking after washing it. I'll be trying this so I can leave her hair alone for longer than 10 days. I'm aiming for three weeks with this method. Thanks!

  • I cant wait till my hair is long enough for me to wear my twists like this

  • Great video! I just want to note that applying oil directly to the scalp can clog the hair folicles and prevents hair growth for some. As long as the scalp gets water it is fine.

  • This is helpful...sometimes in an effort to wash my hair every week I'll unravel my twists and realize that they actually look okay (in the back mostly) and that maybe I don't need to take them all out so soon...I will definitely try your method...Thx Beautiful!

  • neat time saving trick!

  • nice video, ur skin looks great!

  • @BeautifulBrwnBabyDol... How can I go natural without cutting it all off like most people do? I am keeping micro's but I am in need of a perm. I workout alot and it sweats and starts getting old looking.

  • @MsJourney21 I have been natural for two years. I slowly worked into it because I didn't want to cut my hair. I just made sure I washed it ever week and did a dominican blow out and kept it moisturized. However you don't want to do flat irons because your hair ends up breaking off. You also need to find the products that work for your hair type and what will keep it soft and smooth so when you do comb it, it will not break off. I hope this helps a little.

  • @anazarri okay what products are good for making the curls come out. I did a major cut today not all the way down but at least 4 inches. Now its wavy then straight. Is there a trick lol?

  • Thanks for the video very help seeing as I have braids right now!! :)

  • This is a very good idea, thanks so much for sharing. How about if your hair is loose? What do you do with it during and after working out?

  • This is a very detailed tutorial, and I like how you say not only what you are doing, but why. Great info. Re: the ACV scent, I use it in my regular spritz, and then seal in with my oil mix and a few drops of orange oil for a nice scent. Maybe I'm used to it but the AVC scent doesn't bother me at all. Thanks for sharing. Blessings...

  • Great idea!!

  • This is a really good idea. I have individual braids and i washed them and put them in a bun now they smell a little mildew-y. Im gonna try this instead.

  • Thank u, thank u for this video!

  • Why would you only shampoo every three o four weeks? Are you co-washing weekly but only shampooing every 3-4wks?

  • @MsKinkydiva Hey dear! It has to do with your hair needs....I really only need a co-wash every 2-3 weeks with LOTS of moisture in between.

  • Great tips...I really love the changes you are making with your vids too!

  • wow i love your voice over. You should do them more

  • This is like the Oil Cleansing Method for hair...genius!

  • Im thinking about going natural again

  • This is off the subject, but how many pounds are the dumbbells you lift? Your arms are beautiful. Love the video girl.

  • Great vid!!! I also use activator gel..it is great for moisture..however putting oil on my scalp is a no-no for me unless I'm about to wash it off..my scalp is very sensitive! Take care!

  • thanks for this video...helped me for myself & for my friends! thank you for the ACV rinse & you made a statement about the oil...the essential oil. how do we place an order? thank you again....TRUE BLESSING!!!

  • I have alot of itchyness in certain spots even when

my scalp is cleaned and moisturized. Do you know what

cause this itchyness? I have tried everything nothing works :-(

  • what is the bottle type called pls?

  • Thanks for this :-)

  • god you're so beautiful

  • its cool that you decided to put ur song at the end that way it gives viewers an option to listen to it or not. No complaints :)

  • You have very beautiful skin!

  • I like the song at the ends better than at the beginning, sounds great!

  • WHERE IS YOUR INTRO! I miss it :-(

  • It was my understanding that moisturizers are water based and shea butter is a sealant.

  • @itsmearie Shea butter is a food and it does provide some moisture to the hair just like coconut does. It provides nourishments to our hair and scalp, it is soooo much more than just a sealant. It is also full of antioxidants.

  • @mspinkytee Thanks!

  • Are your twist braided at the roots?

  • @naturallysha109 yes ma'am! They are!

  • i know that humectants are better in hot weather, but if the air is too dry or if water is absent it can pull the moisture from your hair into the environment. I believe the air is too dry in Texas since its been a major drought this summer. Just looking out. Keep doing ya thing and hows teaching going.?

  • @Redroni2005 its going well, however, what I find is teaching is only 10% of what I do. I am between committee work, licensure and research. I teach Doctoral students and have quite a small class, and I LOVE it!

  • You spoke slower on this video and more intentionally and the delivery was great. It's aside from the point of the video but being a stage manager & due to my own quirks, I note those types of things. Your delivery was wonderful in this video.

  • @sheenalyoung I am re-vamping things now. Trying some new things! Glad you noticed!

  • Writing this quick so I have many typos. Love your videos. Keep them coming.

  • I love your vieo and positiveness. Someday I hope you come to Cali with a seminar of some kind. Anyway mybquestion is. How do you feel about using sea breeze instead of avc mix. I have used that to do the something for the scalp. Or have you or anyone else heard about that being not good? It has been working for me and maybe a good alternative if people are worried about the smell.

  • @shanihunt I actually love sea breeze as well! You MUST however, moisturize RIGHT after!

  • Thank you for sharing this video. I'm getting ready to do a protective style with Sengelese twists and I was concerned about an itch scalp. Right on time!

  • love the video. Do you to use the acv rinse

  • This is awesome!!!!

  • Great video, very informative!!!!

  • This is a great video. ACV is a great pH balancer of the scalp. When I had my kinky twist extensions in I knew I smelled vinegar when my stylist cleaned my scalp to maintain my style. And no she did not rinse. I will try this myself next time.

  • great video this will also work great for locs

  • Nina you are doing it up on these videos!!! Girl your videos are so informative and REAL which can help people in the REAL WORLD:) Thank you so much!!

  • dosen't ACV smell and is it bad to leave in the hair?

  • @sweetdimpelzz no ma'am and no ma'am....watch my acv video!

  • I have been searching for a minimal shrinkage maintenance wash for after the gym... this is the FIRST video I've found! Thanks

  • You are soooo cute, I just want to pinch your cheeks, lol! Thanks for the tips!

  • Thanks for sharing. Will definitely try this method.

  • Waaay off topic....How proud is your mother of you girl! So many of us are proud of you and glad there's another proud representation of "us". Inspiring. Uplifting. Motivational. Love it girl. I LOVE IT!

  • Wow I didn't know people actually do this. My mom taught me this when I was young. She would either use cotton balls/ cotton swabs on my scalp when I was sick. She called it getting the fever out, without wetting my hair. Washing my hair was the only was I would feel better.

  • Thanks this is right on time. As I am putting twist in as we speak.

  • keepem clean

  • Just wanted to say that I love your videos. Get it girl!!!

  • wow! I never knew that cleaning braids is that easy. Before I went Natural, i used to wait till a month, to take out my braids then wash my hair lol! I did not know how to wash using shampoo or conditioner or extension or regular braids. Any other advise?

  • @Soul4eva1 more vids to come!
