I think AR is going to change the future of tourism. It puts so much information into the hands of travelers. Check a recent discussion about how AR and Tourism and interconnected at Mobile Destinations - a new blog about mobile technology and tourism marketing.
Please, do render the caption text in a static position - perhaps only moving horizontally, and smoothly... and let the title/dot be the only items that are jittering around - if you maintain the "speech bubble" link, making it flexible, adapting to the relative positions of text box and dot - its semantics are retained yet the text suddenly appears readable ;)
It should update the image at the same time that it updates the text, so there's no shifty lag between the two. A small image lag is not a big deal, but with the image and text updating out of sync it's bad.
Yes, it has a compass, GPS, accelerometer, and captures video for a relatively long time... at a time when the iphone had none of these features, except the accelerometer.
The idea and AR concept is similar, however I don't know Enkin in detail. It is not yet available in the Android Market. However one must say that the concept of AR is already around for a few years, its just that devices that can do AR were not available before Android/G1.
Excelent Stuff. This looks like it could become a saleing point of Andriod phones in general.
Perhapes one extension could be to allow custom map locations overlaid from a GoogleMap's "MyMaps" feature....thus allowing people to create their own landscape referances.

Yes. It reloads content every 3 miles. However, the cam view does not work well in the car because of various magnetic interferences. regards,
