wow, i have to try this, i was dipping my fingers into a bowl of acetone and it's time consuming, this one i can go wherever i want, by the way, i saw some other girl did this by applying some cream first on skin (not on nails) b4 she put acetone wraps i think it's for the skin not to dry out cuz acetone really dries skin.
I might try this. I'm actually about to remove the acrylic from my natural nails that are long (I use acrylic to help prevent breakage, because the other stuff didn't work), so I guess in a few minutes, I'll decide if I'll do the usual and just put something under the acrylic and work it off in seconds, or do this...
@karen14sotelo when i took mine off(im 13)i thought they would hurt.i didnt get them filled and they got kinda gross on the bottom but then they started lifting up.it was wicked easy after that. nails salons do it for u:)
Yay!! I'm SO glad I came across this video. I never get my nails done, and dread when I do because when I take them off there is incredible damage to my nails. I'm actually looking forward to trying this! Thanks a lot. :)
Awesome technique. I've tried removing acrylics before... While this is not as quick as having it done in a nail salon, it was highly effective and with MUUUUUCH less effort than many of the other techniques on YouTube :-) and the end result is beautiful. You'd never have guessed what I'd just sone to my nails after tfe final buff and cuticle oil application!
acrylic is suppose to be soaked and filed off with a nail file and repeated until acrylic is completely dissolved. they can be cut down if nail length is no longer a desire.
I just did this for to remove my overlay and it worked perfectly! Thanks so much for this tip! My natural nails are long and strong now not paper thin and weak like when they took them off at the nail shop! Thanks so much for sharing this tip! Now I don't have to dread removing my tips and overlays anymore!
@hinaazam no it's stronger it can deslove the acrylic nail polish will then out the acrylic but not thin it out. You can use acetone as nail polish remover but it not the same thing! Pure acetone is clear like water you can get it at sally's walmart or target. it's cheap too
im thinking about getin the acrylic on my nails takin off ..when i got my nails done they jus put acrylic on top of my nail instead of applyin a fake tip ..what products do i need to buy in order to do this at home
@mrstay88 I just removed my acrylic overlay (no tips) just now using the same method and it worked the same BUT I only left it on for 45 min. since you don't have glue because there is no tip it takes a little less time. My nails we not harmed at all and I was able to retain all the length that grew out! Be sure to add a few coats of nail hardner when your done so that your break. Before they put the acrylic on mine they filed it some so the my real nail was a little thin but not too much!
Thanks for posting this. I am going to remove my own nails instead of going to the salon. I have removed them before but it hurt even when I soaked them in acetone. I will try this method. Does this also depend on how thick your nails are?
i remove acrylic by putting pure acetone in a bowl and placing this bowl into a larger one that has very warm water in it so the acetone is warm when used. place finger tips into the acetone and put a towel over the hands.... remove regulary and wipe off acrylic till its gone, light buffing may be required at the end.. takes about 20 mins!
Ok, at first I was really shocked to see that you said 1 hour for soaking time, but if they come off that easy! I don't think I'm going to mind...I'll just watch a movie while I wait! ^_^
it will work, but not usually as fast as pure acetone. It takes longer because it contains less acetone and can be annoying. But, I guess it depends on the brand too. Some polish removers work better than others. Try the polish removers at Sally's or just use 100% acetone. I use ONYX Professional which I got at CVS.
100% acetone works best. But acetone-based polish remover or artificial nail remover work too, they can just take a bit longer. I got my acetone at CVS and it is really good. It's called ONYX Professional. Also Try beauty supply stores like Sally's. They carry acetone too.
OMG thank yu so much i got my nails done and when they were growing off i sort off ripped them so when i go get them again ill take them off carefully what things did you use what acetone was it? PLzz help
this helps so much i just got acrylic nails and im starting to regret it because im scared of how painful it will be when i rip it off but now i dont have to.[this was my first pair of nails]ty for making this video
It doesnt go to the skin you apply the cotton on the nail. Now if you just take them out, that really is going to demage the nail. Acetone just dehydrate for a few minutes. Now you can use acrylic remover that contains a hi% of acetone (by the way). Or dont use acrylics, because it really damages the nails if u rip them off.
@outsidersclub you can apply vaseline on the cuticle area that way it cant touch your cuticle and you can leave it for 20 mins remove the softened acrylic and keep repeating the process until you remove all the acrylic
Thank u sweety32446 cuz i kno my customers don't wanna sit 4 a hour

does cuticule oil remove the glue from your nail?
K4V4N9 2 years ago
No, it re-hydrates the skin around the nail because he polish remover dries it out.
