  • Terrible video. Audio OK.

Let us see the organist, his hands and pedals, the organ console and the organ.

Not stare for six minutes at the same nothing view.

Much too slow at the beginning?

    But I still like this.

    Thank you for posting.

  • Do you like the organ?

  • This is one of the first Reger works I memorized.

(Reger is best played from memory.)

    Why the strange video effect?

    Why the boring view?

    Why played too slowly?

  • It's a very fine piece by Reger that I think fits the organ perfectly! The real swedish romantic organs are a bit of a mix of french and german sound. This perticular organ has for example just a Oboe 8' in manual III and corno 8' and clarinett in Man II and trunpet 16' 8' in Man I but still almost no mixtures but it do as a couple of cornettes! So it's a bit of a mix!

  • It's probably not ment to be a strange video effect to start with and since this is live, anything can happen. It's also very dark at the loft when it's dark outside and in the church! The Kontrabassun 32' is incredible isn't it?

Andersson didn't probably have time to argue about the camera angle. You have to ask Andersson about the tempo but for me it feels just right and the tempo changes feel naturally! :)

I happen to know that this is an old video!

  • Thank you, tj.

The photo refresh every half second is a special video effect (gimmick) available in many camcorders.

    Annoying and useless here.

Too slow but I like that he increases tempo.

Some organists continue to increase the tempo, finally rushing through the end and destroying its drama.

Better slightly too slow than too fast.

    Yes, nice 32'! 1/4 length?

Hopefully they can add some mixtures.

  • People think that my name is Tjugofyra (lol). Tjugofyra=24!

Yes, probably not ment to have that effect!

Maby, I think that Herr Andersson is a very gifted organist and that he plays this piece very well.

No, all pipes in this organ is in full lenght! You can see the CB pipes a bit behind the facade when you'r in the church! Beautiful church and the organ facade (and of course the whole organ) is incredible beautiful! The church also has a french baroque organ!

  • @robertgift Why do people feel the need to judge, especially that which is NOT the music? Not everyone has professional video equipment. The object of the videos is to present the music the way the performer likes it. Who cares if you think it's "too slow"? Too slow for whom? Oh for you! That's self-importance. Learn to listen and enjoy music for what it is rather than what it is not.

  • @soyeso999 One is allowed to comment and judge. I will.

I love this work. Too bad it starts out so annoyingly slowly.

"Professional video equipment"? How about learning to operate one's camcorder not in a gimmick mode?

I bet this is a practice session. I play it this slowly when practicing. Would never post it unless I explained why so slow.

  • @robertgift Your mind is missing the point(s). Of course you are "allowed" to write whatever pleases your ego to feel better about yourself. So it is with judging. I see comments where the performer makes one little mistake and someone just HAS to write about it so he can appear to be "smart". Such comments help no one, except the writer who feels important by pointing out a lack of perfection. Instead of criticizing, put up your own "better" version. I'd like to hear it!

  • @soyeso999 Haha. Ego has nothing to do with it. Why do you claim so?

When I make BLATANT mistakes, I would correct them before posting them.

Not because it reflects upon me, but so that it does not distract from the marvelous work.

    Little mistakes are unimportant.

The slowness here is INTENTIONAL. Not a "little mistake".

I'll post when I work something up and can video it.

  • @robertgift Ego is a term actually referring to groups of thoughts about "me". It's not that it's "bad". It is what it is. My last comments were somewhat general (not referring to you) as I expressed about what I notice a lot on YouTube, and that is critical reviews which have an underlying ego boosting agenda. I just come to enjoy the music so it was puzzling to me to see so much judgment. I eagerly await your video!

  • Reger to mistrz harmonii !

  • Really, really good!

This piece certainly fits the organ very well.

    Very well played!
