Not every game needs to be about saving the world and the needy and if you consider that since Sands of Time the prince has endured several years of trials and struggles, which brings him near his 30's i guess, it is acceptable to not be the same idealistic character as he was in his early 20's..

I believe it the best in the series. The darker tone brings actual depth to the prince's character, why should he be a static lovable prince? Also he's not emo, he's just pissed, and with reason. Where u got that impression I don't know. The art is a lot better than SoT in my opinion and it bleeds atmosphere. The music is better too, but I listen to metal so I'm biased on this one. Just telling u how 'I' see it.

I TOTALLY disagree with this guy that's reviewing the game. The darker tone of the game was very well done and it made the gamer want to take the prince more seriously than the previous one from Sands of Time. And the mature rating was a good idea to me. People that complained about the rating and the dark tone aren't real gamers to me. They're just too picky.

I've played and beat every Prince of Persia game. Even the 2008 one was pretty good, and I still liked it just because it was Prince of Persia. Long live PoP, and UBI should rerelease the older games for next-gen consoles. I'd buy them all.
Ubisoft go back to this a little with 2008 POP's sequel. At least Tomb Raider is doing better than where Prince of Persia is going right now. Surprisely, the next Tomb Raider is going to be rated M or Restricted 16/18 and it's going to be all set on an island. You will also supposedly be able to use weapons like swords and axes. Hmmm, maybe Eidos are trying to follow a similar thing to what Ubisoft did with Warrior Within 5 years ago. Except TR's is going to be an origin story. Can't wait for it

God, why did Ubisoft have to change Prince Of Persia so much? I mean, I got the 2008 POP last year for Christmas along with my Xbox 360 and after I played it for a while, I found it so boring!!! I have to say that even the best combat system in the world couldn't redeem the fact that warrior withing lost ALL the charm of the sands of time. Ubisoft had a really good thing going on with PoP 1 but they decided they needed to compete with God of War. Yes, the sands of time had a very boring combat system.... it also had a beautiful art direction and music. The storyline actually drew me in and the prince wasn't a tool. The fanciest button combat combos in the world cant replace that...

While I really like the style of this game I stopped roughly before the middle because I had such a hard time working out where I had to go (while SOT took you by the hand).
i love this one, the dark prince is awesome, he seems more grown up, dark, evil and he seems like he has a different vision of life like he gave up in his believes and now all he wants is revenge or something i think its great

Yup weakvirus, I like T2T the most out of the SoT Trilogy. I really like Warrior Within as well but its really buggy and it was rushed but still good story and cool combat moves. Sands of Time is alright but hardly any attacks to do and you only have a sword that you upgrade several times through the game and the dagger of time. Warrior Within and T2T have more variety. And these games are 10x better than the new one. I'd rather have the SoT powers and Farah back than a whiny princess with magic

I definitely agree there. Sands of Time got insane hype from the press but I didn't think it was that great. The graphics definitely were, but the story and the Prince himself were total Disney's Alladin clones. Warrior Within had great gameplay, graphics, good story, and it was unique and finally had an identity. true, I really liked the presentation of Sands of Time which is why I really liked it. Warrior Within was the best because it was challenging but not frustrating, fair (giving you a decent health bar and enough Sand Circle thingys :D) dark, better graphics, head-slicing physics and mostly, the soundtrack done by Godsmack put it right near the top of my collection. In Two Thrones your health bar is halved, your enemies have 5 times more health and one smack from them halves your hp... TT is bad..

I have to say that even the best combat system in the world couldn't redeem the fact that warrior withing lost ALL the charm of the sands of time. Ubisoft had a really good thing going on with PoP 1 but they decided they needed to compete with God of War. Yes, the sands of time had a very boring combat system.... it also had a beautiful art direction and music. The storyline actually drew me in and the prince wasn't a tool. The fanciest button combat combos in the world cant replace that...

Same here. Gameplaywise, it's excellent. But I always thought it was pulling a Jak, which I thought was stupid.
Godsmack doesn't work with Persia.

the game was awsome man...great storyline...what made u not like it?..the soundtracks were great too...the prince has become more mature in this game because of hardshpis and experiences...he is unleashed and therefore the title worrior within

While I really like the style of this game I stopped roughly before the middle because I had such a hard time working out where I had to go (while SOT took you by the hand).

i love this one, the dark prince is awesome, he seems more grown up, dark, evil and he seems like he has a different vision of life like he gave up in his believes and now all he wants is revenge or something i think its great

Now i'm about 5 hours into POP;Sands of time and i must say, the puzzle aspects are superb..

I really liked the story of SoT and I'm playing Rival Swords right now (which I think is the same thing as Two Thrones even tho they have different names)... I wanted to play this one but I think I'd be too scared to play it. Plus, I can't get it cuz it's rated M... boohoo.... :(

Yup weakvirus, I like T2T the most out of the SoT Trilogy. I really like Warrior Within as well but its really buggy and it was rushed but still good story and cool combat moves. Sands of Time is alright but hardly any attacks to do and you only have a sword that you upgrade several times through the game and the dagger of time. Warrior Within and T2T have more variety. And these games are 10x better than the new one. I'd rather have the SoT powers and Farah back than a whiny princess with magic

I only played SoT and WW and this one I find the better of the two because there is a lot more variety in it. Yes, the prince turns emo but so do the fans of the series when they complain about it ;)

I think all of them are excellent..
In a whole they do create a story, with some good twists and turns. And the character development of the prince was in my oppinion great. however SPOILER BELOW!!!!!
I did wish they brought back the real voice of farah in the last installment, however I liked her voice and I'm so glad they brought back the real voice of the prince...wonder what his name is though ?_?

warrior within was the best. that fact that he was was dark and brutel made him way cooler than that 17 year old. the combat was refined and the game was a good length. two thrones was too short and his personality sucked cause he was all like no emotions plus they took out some of the moves in warrior within and the blood and gore wtf? . sands of time was good but to boyish and the combat was boring.

I definitely agree there. Sands of Time got insane hype from the press but I didn't think it was that great. The graphics definitely were, but the story and the Prince himself were total Disney's Alladin clones. Warrior Within had great gameplay, graphics, good story, and it was unique and finally had an identity. Two Thrones was really shitty, it suddenly changed from a hack-n-slash to a stealth game, the extra swordholders/wall platforms were crap additions and the game is unfair. WW = best

true, I really liked the presentation of Sands of Time which is why I really liked it. Warrior Within was the best because it was challenging but not frustrating, fair (giving you a decent health bar and enough Sand Circle thingys :D) dark, better graphics, head-slicing physics and mostly, the soundtrack done by Godsmack put it right near the top of my collection. In Two Thrones your health bar is halved, your enemies have 5 times more health and one smack from them halves your hp... TT is bad..

Sands of Time- Great, absoluty wonderful
Warrior Within- Great too, but not like SoT and T2T.
Two Thrones- Great, gone back to SoT style with Warrior Within combat. Best game ever!!!

the only good thing about this sequel is the combat system the rest is just...disappointing good game still but i prefer sands of time the best sequel in the SoT trilogy and T2T failed big time as a game and as the last sequel in SoT.

I hate this one the most. It doesn't look or feel as good as the other two, and i feel that it is very difficult to care about what happens to any of the Characters. The prince is really annoying.
