  • Ripper PLEASE!!!! Go back to Judas Priest!!!

  • Brutal Heavy Metal...!!! Yeahh

  • the only song that does not suck in this album

  • @Cassify06 AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • pra min os melhores vocalistas do metal é rob halford e bruce dickinson ninguem supera

  • pra min os melhores vocalintas do metal é rob halford e bruce dickinson

  • absolutely brutal drums on this CD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • scott travis drum sounds better with rob halford singing

but with the ripper is good

  • Comparing Halford to Ripper is like comparing the Sun to a Mag Flashlight, it's still a very good and reliable light source, but nowhere near as valuable and illuminating as the sun. Halford = Metal God. End of story.

  • I wish people would stop comparing tim with rob. if they were the same age then it would make sense but tim is obviously a lot younger! if you have to compare them compare them at the same age.

  • You obviously have not seen Judas Priest in the last 10 years or so. Rob Halford can no longer hit the high notes. When he sings Painkiller live he now sounds like a gremlin.

  • halford had a more dynamic voice during he's younger years. end of discussion

  • I love this album. Ripper delivered great vocals for someone who has never recorded for Priest before. This, along with Bullet Train, and Cathedral Spires are amongst my most favorite Priest songs. Real dark, heavy, tight shit. I wanna hear Rob Halford sing Jugulator songs.

  • Ripper is the better vocalist...but Rob sings the classics

  • jugalator is a good album best judas priest in my opinion judas priest with rob halford was good but ripper seem to be a better vocalist and made the album darker and that what judas priest should be.

  • it is so nice

  • Fine, you know what. For all you damn Halford fan boys, I'll admit, the Halford era was better. But, Ripper is a better singer, and he gave new life to Judas Priest. AND, that new music was HEAVIER. So shut the fuck up and worship your damn leather boy.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 You think the more bass the sound is the more heavy it is... Ripper is a one trick pony. HOW to explain you? He can do one thing good (screaming) while singing involves a million kinds of songs that need different vocal approach. Check Ripper's studio version of Rapid Fire and Halford's version in British Steel 30 year anniversary. COME TELL ME THEN WHO is heavier and better.... check Halford's last scream.. u will have nightmares with this.. Owen is so bad in filling Robs shoes

  • @LedZeppelin2055 And that's not to offend Owens.. It's just poor to always replace already successful singers. Let the man make his band so we can hear him in his style of songs. Halford is bad also if he sings Dio.. Everyone is bad if they try to sing other guy's stuff.. Apart from that, the new stuff priest wrote with Ripper was also way worse than with Halford and also was NOT priest sound. A new singer doesnt bring new life to a band. He just destroys their unique sound they always had.

  • @vazelos87 Like Bruce Dickinson joining Iron Maiden? (in response to your quote: "A new singer doesnt bring new life to a band. He just destroys their unique sound they always had.")

  • i love both halford and owens they have ultimate metal vocals

  • @citizen773 Gotta agree with you. Jugulator is a great album, Demolition just didn't held the candle...

  • My butt itches.

  • "Halford came crawling back"...geez what an idiot. When were you born?

  • NOW IT"S YOUR TURN TO BURN...!!!!!

  • i gotta get this album

  • Slayer + Priest = this

    Fucking awesome.

  • This actually would be death metal if Ripper was growling. Just a great example how flexible Priest is musically.

  • 3 people are burning in hell.

  • 1st time i heard priest was breaking the law n i honestly i thought they were a joke band cz its a shit song n ignored priest n stayed a maiden fan then few years later saw this on headbangers ball n thort wow cant be same band as this kicks ass. problem with priest is they dnt av a unique sound they change the ripper years probably when they stayed their most consistant

  • Tim Ripper Owens is an amazing singer.

  • ripper is a really good singer BUT halford is way much better than he is.... not even close to the high notes halford reaches... he may be old but he still kicks everyones ass..! no one better than halford...! NEVER..!

  • @stefaniathumann Ripper is WAYmuch modern than Rob H mate.... much more brutal, deffinitaly better in mid octaves... and still GREAT in the falsetto area... Rob is INCREDIBLE in the high area and Rob IS METAL GOD!!! But Still Tim is better overall!!!

    IMO

  • RIPPER > HALFORD ALL DAY LONG

  • and commenting on the high notes deal, if thats what you call better, you should hear Death's version of Painkiller, and praise them instead of rippy mcpantie shitter

  • i agree, ripped asshole is not even fit to kiss robs boots, and you can take that to the bank, next time you wanna hate on someone , make it someone lesser then you, cause you have nothing to say, rob is the better singer, far more talent, and he is a better person, and judas was putting out metal before ripper prolly even picked up the mic!

  • better than the album version

  • you are all fucking stupid. there is no judas priest with out rob. yeah ripper is an absolutely incredible singer , but halford has the greatest voice of all time. HE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE METAL GOD! so get on your knees and start begging for his forgiveness you blasphemers. ripper is like the jesus of metal, Rob Halford is GOD

  • you're going...to burn in hellllllll!!!!

    epic!

  • RETARDS.... listen.... NONE can get any heavier than Painkiller, you probably never heard of this before but anyway.... there are some things out there called notes, and those notes together are making a song, they are the same notes that make a song HEAVY, not the fucking sound of the amp...or the production, just the composition itself,Black Sabbath's Children of the Grave is heavier than this,Electric Eye is heavier than this,Stargazer is heavier than this,MY BALLS ARE HEAVIER THAN THIS...

  • @Sermonized747 you are SO FUCIN correct. You know music man. You can be my spokesman I'm sure you will say exactly what I'm thinking.

  • @vazelos87 Ty for your kind words m8, i 'm really glad that there are people out there who know what this is all about, keep on ;)

  • @TheAngryMetalhead Maybe on jugulator, Demolition is just some electronica garbage boyo

  • Gay and ignorant comment...

  • has just returned to pay you back im still laughing >:)

  • anyone else think ripper's voice sounds like a cross between halford and dio?

  • @RockinRustle Fuckin A!!!!

  • Ripper is awesome! I wish he would stayed with priest. They were a heavier beast with him. Halford rocks, but I liked the heavier Priest.

  • @RockerSDS Heavier Priest have nothing to do with Ripper.

  • @kornjubi That is true, but the music they released with him was heavier. Halford has done some very heavy stuff, both with Fight and Halford. Priest wrote heavier material with Ripper. Ripper had a middle and lower range you didn't hear from Rob. Halford rocks, I just like Ripper for different reasons.

  • the song is ssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooamazing

  • great song! great record! amazing job from owens on this one!

  • @TheAngryMetalhead Just on this album. The other one with Owens sucked dick.

  • kinda sounds alittle like alice in chains except for the high screams

  • @TheAngryMetalhead Indeed. It's just that Owens is a terrible performer, bad at capturing the feeling on ballads and his songs were heavier cause the whole team wrote in a different style. It is Halford on the Painkiller isn't he? Ane he is way more evil than Ownes voice. But Ownes songs were more heavy ok. Stay with that. lol

  • yeh they sounded heavier like this is a kick arse track but with out pain killer album i dont think tim owen would be inspired to sing like he does, he was great in iced earth and priest but everyone knows halfords the man going from the actual song the ripper to notrodamus, everythings good but painkiller woah!!!!!!!

  • 2 People gonna Burn In Hell

  • its so f better the ripper!!!! than halford......heavy!!!!!!

  • Ripper rulez!!!!

  • Where was Halford when they did this?

  • owens is a great singer but he is really good when he goes to Iced Earth

  • 2 people need to burn in hell

  • Absolutely great album but remember Rob had left the band for years and they had much more time to write/contemplate/rewrite....one of my favorite Priest albums song per song in quality....remember the huge time frame on writing. Priest was always pushed to have an album out once every two years. Still love it, but Rob is still God! Priest fan

  • Judas Priest were so much better with Ripper than they are now with Halford, it's just that the narrow minded metal fans can't accept anything new and original

  • @makourass its not a thing we cant accept its just like saying priest were nothiung until they they had the ripper, fans of both but u no halford was a metal god from priest, pain pain killer killer pain pian killer KILLLLLLLERRRRRRRRR

  • WHAT IS THIS SHIT?!!!

  • Why is fucking Drama the singer?

It's not Judas Priest without Halford just like GnR isn't GnR without Slash...

Take this shit and shove it so far up your arse that it never sees the sunlight again.

  • 1 person is going to burn in hell... Ripper kicked ass on this sing, and for his namesake, ripped on this song.

  • @TheAngryMetalhead Owens does nothing with the heavier sound. 97 the classic metal just died.

  • @TheAngryMetalhead they also have a new drummer too i believe. listen to halfords new solo project though, he's heavy as balls!

  • 1 people burn in hell now...

Fucking amazing song...I love so much !

    BURN IN FRANCE

  • i think ripper did pretty well with iced earth too

  • wow! Tipton looks cool at 0:41

  • Fucken Ian Hill looks bad ass at :37 seconds.

  • @TheAngryMetalhead yes...i agree with you...and in some songs they sound so Thrash

  • @MetalWarrior95 heh your talking is thrash... i hear no thrash in this so fuck off( i was listening to thrash). This is pure heavy metal power! :D

  • @shAde416 Your so fuckin stupid...i want mean..that Judas Priest with Ripper sound Thrash in some songs..because they are more agressives...so fuck you

  • @MetalWarrior95 fuck you too :)

  • them notes he hits at 3:42 blew my mind

  • I saw Ripper front JP @ Thebby Theatre in Adelaide. Mighty presence, mighty voice!

  • Tim Owens autographed a teeshirt for me a couple of years ago, when he lived in Akron. That man has some powerful vocals!

  • It's time to burn in Hell god damn it.

  • Ripper brought Judas Priest back from the grave, made them heavier and darker, and gave us some freakin' amazing metal. But when Halford realized no one liked his solo projects, he came crawling back to Judas Priest. It was unfair that Ripper was kicked out because he was the better singer, he had more aggression and higher notes. Ripper Era Judas Priest is so far superior to Halford Era. Thumbs up if you agree. |..| RIPPER |..|

  • @LedZeppelin2055 The vocals on Sad Wings Of Destiny and Stained Class destroy everything Tim Owens had ever recorded in my opinion (more ease of range, countless tones and sheer melodic sense) great singer nonetheless.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 actually I'm pleased about both Halford and Owen they are both great vocalists but incorporate different styles;that doesn't mean each of them are bad but I gotta admit that Ripper fits better to the "Jugulator" album than Halford;now I'm pleased though Rob's back with Priest;I wish there was a fair solution for both without any of them getting pissed off

  • @LedZeppelin2055 Halford solo projects? Crucible is much better and heavier than Jugulator and Demolition. But yes, Ripper is a great singer. I hope he´ll find good bend soon.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 certainly owens cant reach as high notes as rob. but they are both great. but this heavy stuff have nothing to do with ripper. listen to his solo album and tell me if its heavy. judas priest are judas priest, one of the best bands on our planet

    \m/

  • @shopkovsky His solo stuff is awesome too!

  • @LedZeppelin2055 of course it is but its not that heavy :) they both have powerful motherfucking voices \m/

  • @LedZeppelin2055 dude dont ever say that shit again. your a disgrace to metal, halford is the reason ripper started singin in the first fuckin place so that whole speach was fuckin retarded secondly he was in the band for an album and two tours, halfords songs may not be as high of notes but unlike your faggot ass ripper they are remembered as judas priest songs, so fuck u and choke on a dick

  • @imissthe80s1 No, Priest fans always brag how heavy Priest is. We'll they got heavier, and what did the fans do? "Noooo we want Halford!". What's up with that? And I'm sure Two sucks. Fight and Halford are good though, I will give him that.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 i agree alot, halford was more decadent than the genuine imitator, halford is a genuine dissassembler who tries to imitate what he invented about what he thought heavy metal....was all about.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 Higher notes so ripper is better singer... lolwut? talent isn't measured in numbers and octaves.. Lack of talent is the fact that ripper doesnt exist on stage, hes boring as hell on stage, ripper cant give the feeling to most priest songs as halford does etc etc..he just maintains his range prolly cause his way of doint it doesnt damage his chords. Halford as a whole is WAY better singer than ripper. And for God's sake ripper era is a shit comparing to old priest and painkiller

  • @vazelos87 What exactly does Halford do on stage? He rode a bike on stage on the 80's. Big whoop.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 is this all you read in my comment? I didn't say any other argument? congrats then..

  • @vazelos87 No, and for your sake I'll reply again. What you basically said is that just because someone has more range, they aren't better. You're right, I'd rather have a singer stay in the same few notes than all over the place. That's why I put James Hetfield over Bruce Dickinson.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 Bruce during the number of the beast live performances (around '83) was what will never again exist. Watch this: /watch?v=fFD-yRD2e8g

no man can pull a whole 4-5 lines of shit hard vocals with one breath and clean chest voice (not flassetos and screams). Even Bruce couldn't repeat these performances 2 years later (some Dortmund live of the same song is kinda popular on youtube at '85). But even for 1-2 years, Bruce has pulled out what no man can imagine himseld doing..

  • @vazelos87 Wtf are you even trying to say? It was sarcasm.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 Totally agree. Halford is overarrated. Has been for years. The last great song he did was Painkiller. Now when he sings it live he sounds like a gremlin. Ripper on the other hand can sing it perfectly. There used to be a video on here of Ripper doing Rapid Fire. His version blew Halfords away. Unfortunately, it's not on You Tube anymore.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 no one liked his solo projects?? i remember well the day he came on tour with Iron Maiden back in 2001 and played his new stuff here in Chile. next day: no more Halford Resurrection album left in stores. from that day on, we, the chilean fans, have always love all the halford solo projects and i know a lot of people in other countries too ;)

  • @LedZeppelin2055 It's not about the heavier your music is or darker or what evar.... The painkiller album it self can be proof that halfrod is Beyond godlike.

  • @The931912 I agree. That album trumps any other JP album made. Shit, pretty much any other metal album ever made.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 curious, i loved the band halford( songs like hell's last survivor, wrath of god, betrayer, ressurection, she, etc, blew my mind), not so much Fight and the othe one, and no it was not superior, it's better than people give it credit for and Tim is an exceptional singer, it's all subjective, Painkiller, Ram it Down, Electric eye, etc those are classics man. Write (Beyond Fear - Scream Machine) on youtube and you will get a pleasant surprise :D

  • @LedZeppelin2055 Well I still think Halford is the metal god, and as awesome as Owens is/was the "darker" thing was more because KK and Glen wanted to "appeal" to younger audiences, or play whatever is the latest thing like they did with Turbo.

Now, Halford's solo band was amazing, his Two project isn't my cup of tea though, but Fight wasn't too bad...

I still think that Halford fits better with Priest though, I have to admit that ripper sang the older songs (from the 70's) a little better...

  • @LedZeppelin2055 OF COURSE I DON'T AGREE WITH YOU, HALFORD HAD A SUPERIOR VOICE, RIPPER IS GOOD BUT HALFORD IS THE GOD, PRIEST ONLY DID ONE GOOD ALBUM WITH TIM, JUGULATOR, AND THEY DID THEIR WORST ALBUM DEMOLITION, THE BEST ERA WITH RIPPER? THINK WELL MAN, ALSO THE LYRICS OF THOSE ALBUMS ARE VERY SIMPLE

  • @LedZeppelin2055 Finally, someone I can agree with.

Ripper is better than Halford.. And yet, Halford is one of the most amazing singers in metal.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 Ripper is great but he's younger than Rob. Rob's voice just got a bit older after 2K. Rob Halford in the 70's and 80's was better than Ripper ever was. Even with Fight and on those 2 gigs with Black Sabbath in some 92 Rob was killer. Beside than Rob's voice sounds a bit higher and a lot more freaky than Ripper's.

  • @LedZeppelin2055 If Rob came back crawling why the band agreed not to EVER do live again ANY ripper era song? Ripper albums are just NOT judas priest. Most ppl loved them for their old stuff and even their newer stuff with Halford had the Priest signature in the sound. ripper albums have Sucky riffs that are just heavy. No inspiration. And Rob's darker than Owens in a nasty - freaky way.. plus he can sing ballads and have a lyrical style while ripper=no feeling. And the Painkiller is with Rob.

  • ahah!

    they kick asses!!

    love that song

    Sincerly

    MrRose78

  • The way I see it, if you can't have Rob Halford, then this guy is the perfect replacement. That reminds me. Did Ripper leave Judas Priest or was he kicked out?

  • @A101Jack Tim Owens, was politely asked to leave because of Rob Halford's Willingness to be part of Judas Priest again. Tim, being such a major Priest fan of course stepped down proudly.

  • With his head held high!

  • @A101Jack

what RockJunkie04 said, and he's got an AWESOME career now with Iced Earth and I'm going to see him live soon performing Judas Priest songs from all times :D

  • this guy was good with Iced Earth too

  • It gives me goosebumps every time Ripper screams "You're going to BURN IN HELL!!" So awesome, it's indescribable.

  • eles nao estiveram ca em Portugal agora?

  • ozzy rules

  • Esta canción siempre me pone los pelos de punta, brutales

  • @TheAngryMetalhead listen to painkiller its just as heavy as this, the only reason it sounds heavier is that theyr playin in d instead of e standard

  • AWSOME SONG!

  • AWSOME SONG

  • I could picture Rob Halford singing on a studio version of this song.

  • @Supernatural790 I agree. Past 'The Glorious Burden' I wasn't too into his work with Iced Earth, but man, he did a fucking killer job on all their old songs, especially 'Dracula.'

  • Great video! Both Owens and Halford sound different but they are both good.

  • When it kicks in around 1:00, it is like, heavier than FUCK! I love the heavy mid pace stuff like this

  • this song kicks ass But I prefer Halford for judas priest. But Still have to give credit to Owens hes got range and a voice someone would kill for. So Im a fan of both iced earth and priest.

  • Comment removed

  • @Supernatural790 To try replace a really good singer in a very famous band with a new person seems to be one of the most difficult tasks to do. In this case I also think that Tim needs a band that aren't so "classic" as, for example, Judas Priest or Iced Earth.

  • @cyberiouse

I do agree that fans are more used to Rob as the singer of Priest because, as you said, he's been there for so long (kind of the same with Maiden, when Blaze replaced Bruce for a short period of time). But this song is so heavy, and with Ripper's voice. Yeah, he does sound like Rob, but it doesn't change the fact that Ripper is an excellent singer. I do prefer singer's like Rob In Priest, but that doesn't stop me from giving credits to singers like Ripper.

  • i think his voice is stronger than robs, but, priest wasnt priest without rob. do you know if rob has ever sang this song? or wont because of what happened....?

  • @88ampd I do agree that his voice is actually stronger than Rob's, maybe because Ripper is much younger than Rob, but, as you said, Priest wouldn't be Priest without Rob. I don't know if Rob has ever sang this song.

  • @cyberiouse

I do agree that fans are more used to Rob as the singer of Priest because he's been there for so long, (kind of the same with Maiden, when Blaze was the replacement for Bruce). But I do not agree that this song can't match any other Priest song, as heavy and good it is and here Ripper does an incredible job, just like when he was in Iced Earth, even thou fans are more used to Barlow as the classic singer of Iced Earth. This is my own opinion!

  • wut a curious time line

    1998

this album with Tim didn't like to judas fans

while fans of Iron Maiden were throwing tomatoes to Blaze Bayley

  • One of the heaviest and best songs ever by Priest!! This is pure heavy metal!!! After hearing this song I'm having a hard time understanding all the critizism against Ripper, although I've haven't heard much of the albums he recorded with Priest. Ripper's voice is incredible!!!

  • Well the problem is and WAS that fans had lived with Rob "The Metal God" Halford fronting Priest forever and then this no name "Wanna Be" (literally) came and took over for him. Also while yeah this is good it sounds NOTHING like any other Priest music. None of the album with Ripper does.

  • @cyberiouse Just discovered that I've replied to your comment twice. My mistake. Sorry

  • Τhe Judas Priest is a fantastic group and I like yet.

  • @steggggggggggg

Fight was indeed heavy... but they also played some terrible Nu Metal radio rock crap. Remember that second Fight album?

    Ick.

  • ripper breaks the sound barrier when he sais "Burn in Hell"

  • But i think that solo halford is even more heavier :)

  • great!!

  • I prefer Tim

  • Your going to

    BURN IN HEEEEEEEEEELL!!

  • dude, u heard Demonizer jet ? or Judas Rising ? or Hellrider ?

  • Fucking awesome, the singing is amazing, all the guys doing a great job on this one. Wish the guitar solo was a bit longer but still enjoyed it.

  • The beginning sounds way too much like South of Heaven by Slayer.

  • ripper owens is wack. his vocalist style is too common among metal. as i just saw someone said it makes priest sounds like metallica.

Priest had theyr one of a kind characterist. owens was a drawback for the band

good musicians have to have a distinct singer which they can synchronize to the best of their skills

theres no contest between rob and owens.

rob is the right singer for priest

  • it dose not sound like metallica but rob halford is 10 times better than Tim Ripper owens ... he was in a cover band so i just wanted to make their style more ruff then before ...Metallica sux ass BTW !!!!!!!!!!

  • I liked Tim 'Ripper' Owens's voice a lot in Iced Earth. But in Judas Priest, I do not like the most stuff, which he recorded with them. Rob Halford is the right vocalist for Judas Priest.

  • Tell us ALL what else you think.(add ample animal fart noises here) pffffffftzzzz

  • best band ever ...the fathers of heavy metal!!thei are the influence of all new changes in heavy music ...year by year ..album by album ...!! ripper is a great vocal ..

  • Priest with Owens is alot heavyier than with Halford.

  • hells yeah he is pretty badass. makes the band sound like metallica

  • Ripper is one of the best vocalist of all, he´s better than Halford the only vocalist better than Ripper in my opinion is Dio, but... Judas Priest is made up for Halford, or Halford was born to be the vocalist of Judas Priest, but I like to heard some of the songs of the Ripper time (Jugulator and Demolition) with Halford voice, if someone have a video of halford singing Ripper´s songs, please put the link.

  • Ripper could have, and would have, done just as well in Priest as Halford, if he'd been given a fair chance. There's always some stupid motherfuckin loyalist that will always say he's not better than Halford.

Comparing the two is like comparing Zakk Wylde to Tony Iommi. There's no contest.

Difference is, Ripper has skills :D

Anyway, mad respect to Owens for kickin ass and takin names.

  • No that's not. That's Ripper Owens, by the time when halford left the group, he became the vocal of Judas Priest and recorded two albums with the band which were called demolition and jugulator..

  • its a completely different song idiot

  • Be nice to the kid. He likes Dragonforce. He's too stupid to know any better.

  • This is amazing, I LOVE Tim Owens. I hope his tenure with Yngwie's band lasts longer than one album. I really liked what he did with Iced Earth, but I'm also glad to have Matt Barlow back. Poor guy always seems to get sacked, even though he's a great singer.

  • Ripper is underrated. He's just as good (if not better) than Halford, he's just not suited for a Traditional Metal band like Judas Priest. Ripper belongs in Power/Thrash acts like Iced Earth. he sucked in Judas Priest.

  • Rob Halford will always be remembered as the vocalist of Judas Priest, but Tim Owens is a very talented metal-singer too... but Halford is the metal God above all..!

  • That chorus scream is so fuckin mean, ripper is a legend lol
