well it looks like you've at least picked up some marketing knowledge from the sespool that is hollywood seeing what you chose to wear.

but honestly i think any reasonable person knows that in the majority of cases it isn't the most talented individual who gets the roles but the ones who are most willing to degrade and sell themselves out, for every truly talented actor there are at least another 10 extras who never get their break =(

As for an actor getting a role- it always depends on the situation. It's a funny combo of things. If you are on SNL-you obviously have to be funny and play many faces-those guys have 'talent'. Each individual show or movie has it's own rainbow of politics. Thank God for Youtube and the internet. We can all express ourselves the way we want now!

I wanted to be an actor as a kid growing up because my uncle is an actor. I thought right after high school I would move out there and my uncle could at least get me set up. However, I caved in to my parents and went to college ending up in the insurance business. Not very exciting. Sometimes I think, what if I had?

Hard to decipher if an acting teacher is just after your money... SO-

Get what YOU want/need out of acting class. Class is your practice stage. Acting teachers will usually tell you that you are 'good' after you follow their direction for your new 'take'..(when they see change in your scene) they will usually praise your progress. You can tell if you are a good actor from your class peers. Watch for their reaction after your performance-see if you moved them.
